    I love my Nord, the cameras aren't great but still usable. It really does offer bang for buck. Sure it'll only get 2 major updates but that's still probably more than you'll get from other manufacturers at this price. The Nord 2 does look good but I'll stick with my 256gb Nord for another year Oneplus did a great job. It does make me smile when people actually think Oneplus is a different company from OPPO 🤔

    Until the OS 12 update, 5g was unavailable to me for some reason but I should mention the phone has never been made officially available for sale in Australia.
    I love the camera, the ram makes app/screen jumping a pleasure instead of a drain on my sanity.
    I stopped caring about the best of the best phones in 2015 and am richer and wiser because of that.

    Damian thank you for always pointing out a phone brand's likely software support period... anything less than 3 years of PROMISED OS updates and at least another year of OS security updates... is a no-go regardless of price/value. if a company can't support a device to at least 4 years at the price they plan to sell it for then they need to raise their price. There should actually be a law that all of these phone makers support at least 5 years. We have a huge E-Waste problem and we need more responsible companies.

    • @suyashgairola6270
      @suyashgairola6270 Před 2 lety

      The support isn't possible because of the chip makers limiting support for the soc. So the onus is not completely on the oems. This is the reason why only flagship chips get at max 4 years of support cuz Qualcomm forces the oem's hand

    • @nishiki393
      @nishiki393 Před 2 lety

      @@suyashgairola6270 With Google's increasing abstractions of Android from the hardware layer, this is less and less of an argument. In addition now that OnePlus is combined with Oppo they have enough clout to pressure any chipmaker to support at least 4 years if they really wanted to, and more to the point if they were willing to help pay for it as well. I really don't picture OnePlus/Oppo beating down the doors of Qualcomm and Samsung begging for them to support the chip/driver updates longer

    • @suyashgairola6270
      @suyashgairola6270 Před 2 lety +1

      @@nishiki393 I agree they should have some influence, but i still put more blame on the chipmakers. The rumoured pixel 6 should get over this because of Google's own soc. Samsung is providing for 3 years of android updates on midrange devices with Snapdragon soc then it is indeed possible

    • @nishiki393
      @nishiki393 Před 2 lety +1

      yeah I'm aware of the upcoming pixel advantage, basically at that point it will be the same thing as Apple
      but it is also good that Google is moving in the direction of further abstracting Android so there will be less fragmentation and easier updatability for longer term support for all vendors. God knows you can't use an unsupported Android phone (or almost any connected device really... but especially phone or computer) confidently anymore with the intense cyber vulnerability we face at every corner. crazy world on so many levels... 🙏🏻

    I recently broke the display of my Op 6T and I can't use the front camera and the proximity sensor anymore. And it will fail me sooner than later.

    Which one should i consider as the best choice?
    My heart is telling me to trust the Nord 2 because is new and is a beast for its price, but I'm been stupid thinking about having Mediatek instead of Snapdragon and how long will it work without problems...
