- Took my buddy out to the Port of Sacramento for Salmon action. We both lost a salmon each while jigging during the outgoing tide then my buddy George got hooked up and landed a healthy Chinook Salmon on Flying C at low tide.

The fish grip works great anchoring but I need a better system for unclipping. My buddy was happy to catch his first kayak ever. 😀

MooMoo Outdoors - Man, I cant wait to get out. Life has just been so busy lately and plus trying to juggle hunting season. Soon though...
I also use the Pline laser minnow, but the first thing I did was to get rid of the treble/trouble hook and replace it with a single Pline hook with bucktail. Make sure to bend or remove the barb and you will be good to go. I haven’t caught a Salmon on it, but have caught stripers.
I usually use single hook but wanted to see if treble is any different because most people use treble for salmon. Thanks for tuning in. 😀

Benjamin Chavez only problem is that your salmon tastes like trash while ours are either sushi grade from the ocean or second tier quality if you can catch some in the river system😉

We are spoiled with pedal drive. I wouldn't even try to troll with a paddle kayak. 😝 I even caught a bigger plastic bag that didn't show on the camera 😂.

Do you know if the Salmon are still feeding their or have they made the fresh water transition.
They have made the freshwater transition already. Probably as they were entering the delta (brackish water). It's all "reaction bite" as they call it. Thanks for watching. 😀
Can u tell when does the salmon starts to show up around the area ?
I believe salmon shows up around September in the port but not many. October and later is will produce better bites. Thanks for watching ☺.

is that lock jaw gripper better than the grip master with the metal pinchers?
They both have pros and cons. Plastic one like mine is cheaper and it floats. Metal ones are quick because you don't have to squeeze to grip. Just a quick release will grip. Some of the metal pinchers rotate so less likely for a fish to come off when they do the death roll. 😀
I think I'm going to try that spot tomorrow, Saturday. I have a tamarack angler kayak just getting started.
