Actuator costs about $50. Labor to install about $1,500.
Have to remove seats, console and half the dashboard.
A better idea from Ford.
Gotta love engineers.
That's why I work on mostly Asian cars But the European cars are MUCH! WORSE! But ford? They are bass akwards.
So the car is basically built around the actuator. 🤔😂
Nearly all actuators are labor intensive to replace. No matter what brand.
Original and 4 replacements on a 2015-F250. Love the extended warranty.
Sold it and bought a 1977-F250 - much simpler.
I had too put one in a newer Ford Fusion it was the one behind the cluster, ohhhhh it was a pain getting it out and back in. Swivel sockets and extensions and me bending completely in half saved my ass that day lol 😂
This dude never responds to comments so I’ll just say, you deserve a raise for all this insane amount of work you do , I’d never want to strip down a truck just to pull all that stupid housing and crap off
It’s a absolute nightmare if these components fail on any car
Not if you’re the one fixing it 🤑🤑🤑
@@tjsmith9449 my 51 year old ass that has been fixing stuff since 1986 and has such poor vision from all the chemicals splashing into them can handle about 15 minute intervals laying on a floor board 😁😀🤣😂. But I am glad you enjoy it 🔧🔧🔧👍
I’ve seen about 20-40 of your shorts now and must say you’re very good at this. I don’t f with fords dough haha
Keep up the good work!!
My buddy’s had to replace that actuator motor 3 times in his Fiesta ST despite using an OE motorcraft part each time lol. The plastic teeth on the gear wear out or break off.
I work at a Honda dealer and we call those a mode motor
I actually work for the company that makes that's part I'm the lead processor that programs the 2 shot press that makes them and programs the robot to take the part out of the press to get packed
Tell those re tards to make better electronics, new vehicles i won’t buy because they fall apart before the warranty is up 😂
What could you do to make them stronger?
The more I watch these videos, the more I remember why I own old ass GM cars and trucks 🤣
All I got to worry about it shit interior pieces and those actuators aren't a bitch to do when they fail. Lol
An actuator just a machine that moves something because a human cant
I had to replace one on a '02 Windstar, it's the first time I worked on something without seeing it and just by touching, partly because I didn't want to remove the radio
I could kiss 💋 you. Thank you for breaking it down and explaining this. I’m a retired female army veteran and it seems like I have to do things on my own. My son works on cars but won’t work on my 2006 ext trailblazer Ls. So again thank you
I have a 2995 ford Escape. We only get hot air in the cabin. I think my issue is the blend door. But I think it is just behind the temp selection knob, because it feels different, disconnected.
Is the a mechanical connection behind the kind? I doubt it is like the current cars. Is it certain I have this servo motor moving the damper?
What happens if there it a writing pen or mouse skeleton blocking the damper from moving into place?
Why am I getting water on the passenger side ? Nothing's coming through the vents, but it sounds strong
My f350 2008 blows hot air on the driver's side and cold air passenger side 🙄...
Can you do a video about how to install this part? I've replaced 4 of them on my wife's 14' explorer. Is there a trick to properly "clocking" the gears or something?
Perfect explanation I needed without having to watch a 10 min video
What's the one that is behind the glove box and you have to take off the dashboard? 99 Mercury marquis. No AC heat is fine compressor was replaced by my Father in 2017 before he gave me the car
What’s the peg called I can’t seem to find one to order on my peg broke off my 04 Escalade and I can’t seem to find one anywhere
2008 Lexus rx 350 ac blowing warm air. Anybody know the fix for this?
Throw the car away if you need to replace it
Yeah I had to do all that for my ford f150 cause the door broke on my
And these actuators are variable?
How do you save this video? Junkyard is confused & he says you have to get the Air working to find out what's wrong? That's not going to happen
I love ya brother, but you go from a 10 to a 6 without the hat.
Ford actually has a modular design on there dash and HVAC boxes, not a bad design since you can pull the whole thing as a unit, try doing a GM....one piece at a time... takes forever.
