- As if Paula hasn't been on a harsh enough journey through these past two seasons/series, Katrina shows Paula an episode that may be too much to handle. Get ready for an episode bound to make anyone cry!
Doomsday is filled with both good and bad. It's the ultimate bittersweet. Mostly bitter, but some sweet.
On the next episode, Katrina and Paula begin reacting to Season/Series 2's special features. - Zábava
"You are better at Dying!" .. You have to admit, the Daleks know how to Trash Talk that's for sure!! 🤣
Wish they would have done an "Epic Rap Battles of History" on this one. :)

Hi I apologize for cussing at you and having sexual thoughts about you and ask for forgiveness
@@bkball23 you are forgiven
Amen to that.
Don't let the cynics and trolls get you down, ladies. You are a couple of great reactors!
And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is a reaction!!!
They're great, aren't they?!
Katrina, who's seen it all before, was in more of a state than Paula was! Nothing tugs at the heartstrings the way Who often does, and with so many new reactors, the internet is constantly awash with tears. Great stuff!
I can't even begin to explain how hard this episode hits my heart!! If you sign up on patreon you can see the amount of tears that actually went down between both Paula and I together 😂🤣
Katrina's sharp breath just at 6:02 when the Doctor says "I was there at the fall of Arcadia." And her reaction to "Someday I might even come to terms with that." I feel ya, I went there with you. Paula will be there soon enough!
Keep in mind ....
"You could spend the rest of your life with me, but I could never spend the rest of my life with you. That's the curse of the Time Lords".
Is it bad I've seen that episode enough that I instantly heard a Krillitane squawk after I read your comment

Katrina has it right. Classic Who was mainly an adventure/plot driven show and companions often came and went a lot more casually than they do now. The more emotional, character driven stories are new to the revival. If you think of Sarah Jane, back in School Reunion, talking about how the Doctor just left her, that's like an attempt to retrofit the old style companion character into the new style of the show.
While on the whole I agree, there were several instances in Classic Who which were the inspiration for the emotional moments in the revival. RTD admitted that he was heavily influenced by one particular story in the Third Doctor era - while there were heart-rending 'exits' for companions of the 1st and 5th Doctors, particularly. What the Classic series DIDN'T have was emotion-heavy stories seemingly every other week. It was,as you rightly say,far more plot driven.
@@iansmith4023 Yeah, you're right. I talked generally, but the exceptions are also important to remember.
@@iansmith4023 You can occasionally see the briefest glimpses of the emotional rollercoaster New Who would be in late Classic Who. Adric's exit story, the climax of Caves of Androzani, Ace confronting her past in Ghost Light. That's why I end up on the side of defending John Nathan Turner's vision for the show. Because even if it didn't all totally work, you can see the show trying to become a more personal, character driven drama and RTD was finally able to make good on that potential.
@@DixyRae yes,he was an underservedly maligned showrunner, imo. That being said,I know some fans of the Classic era who stopped watching the New show specifically BECAUSE it had become character driven. They felt that that type of storytelling was not what Dr Who should be about.
@@iansmith4023 I think intially there was a nice balance between the character driven and plot driven aspects of new Who. Moffat's era was a bit messy sometimes and the less said about Chibnall the better....
21 year old guy, watched this episode 10+ times, watched that scene countless times with reactors, still cry like an idiot. My mate came into my dorm once when I was watching Failwhale34 react to it and thought my girlfriend had broken up with me or someone had died - nope just two characters on this weird, low budget British sci-fi kids show can't see each other anymore. Lol.
Just goes to show, good writing and great acting can carry a show much more than fancy CGI and big budget shows, I loved Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead etc. but none of them have made me cry, ever. Dr who made me tear up every other episode and absolutely killed me with this one.
Bro Jane's death didn't give you the big feels?
@@twamdedum No, call me a sociopath but I was just glad she couldn't blackmail Walt anymore. Her and Jesse would've been dead within a year anyway as heroin addicts with that much cash.
@@TescoOfficialred wedding? Glenn’s death? HUH
@@Gutssssss666 Yeah neither had me crying, looking back I think Doctor Who being so close to my heart as a child has a lot to do with it tbh.

Dogs always know when you need a cuddle.
Blimey, that made Father’s Day look like a romcom! Still my favourite finale ending. Except for the BRUTAL Donna appearance.
I always find that funny to reflect on. Donna turned into a brilliant companion, but literally a beat after losing Rose was too soon to see anybody new, the episode would've benefited from making that a post-credit scene.
@@LabradorIndependent I went on a right journey with that scene. I used to absolutely hate it at the end, and creatively it still doesn't really belong. But if anyone was going to crash a funeral-vibe it was only going to be Donna in a wedding dress, and I love her for it. Then in turn, there's then what happens to Donna in the end, and that too is steeped in tragedy - arguably bigger than that of Doomsday. Donna is such a force of a character... introduced in such a way that she crashes the end of Doomsday, you later come to love her to pieces, and then she gets snatched away in an even more brutal fashion.
Doctor Who giveth, Doctor Who taketh away, Doctor Who taketh away even more.
Josh Jenkins alas I found Donna’s first episode just made her so unsympathetic that I heaved a huge sigh of relief at the end of it. Although I now do appreciate (but not love) her, first impressions count. Brutal transitions are part of the show’s dna of course, but I always cringe at this one.
Daleks and Cybermen trash talking each other... Best. Scene. Ever!
IRL Billie was such a wreck during the goodbye scene that between takes David held her while comforting her.
During the scene in the hallway with Jackie and Pete interacting, watch Mickey’s face throughout that whole interaction every time they show him. That is some excellent nonverbal acting.
I didn't expect Katrina to get so distraught over the episode as I expected Paula to be the worse off.
If you check us out on patreon and sign up for the full episodes you can see the true amount of tears that were shared between the two of us 😂💕 I cried AGAIN watching our reaction! I can't help how emotional this episode makes me feel 😅
I really just wanted to give you both a big snivelly sad hug as I cried along with you........ again.........😥
And my face is leaking again dammit 😭
Awww Ladies!! I have lost count of the amount of times I've watched and cried over this episode and there you go making me cry again!! Wonderful reaction x
*Slow clap* Once again it’s like reliving the show all over again.
Rose and Ten were one of my favourite duo's for me. I love the reactions, bring on Season 3 :D
Again this edit does no justice to the full reaction 😭😭😭
I really don’t understand why Doctor Who feels the need to get me attached to people only to rip my heart out later 😆
Rose will forever and always be my first & one of my favorite companions 🌹🌹
Best Dr Who reactors out there! Keep it up girls.
hands down
The tears. They have been shed.
great reaction especially the cameo by the pupper dog at the end
You did it again. You did it again. Every time you get sad and emotional with tears, I feel so sad you make me get emotional too. Loved your Reactions to a really good story.
Awww your little red noses by the end.
Love how the doggy came to comfort you, they know. :)
I love your reactions.. I've seen Doomsday so many times, and yet I still shed a tear at the end of this reaction video. Yup it gets me every time ☺ Looking forward for series 3.
doomsday is the best and saddest song of all doctor who
I remember this. My vacation had started and it was raining like crazy, so I got Netflix and binged dr who. Made it here in a few days. It became ever more clear that Rose was done. First it was the narration last episode. Then it was a two-parter, but she hadnt died yet, so the doctor couldnt use this episode to fix everything. And then we get Mickey. She got to reminisce about being awesome, and finaly her mom and dad came back together - kinda. Every step was a nail in the coffin. Every step telegraphed that this was truly a goodbye. I Weept so much.
one of the best reactions to this episode of all time
I still cry every time I see that episode. Tear up even knowing what’s coming.
They call it a sci-fi show, but it is so much more. Thanks for another awesome video, And also for being real with how it affects you🕉
I loooooove you guys’ faces right after the episode cut out. This episode really has that intense sadness to it ❤️
I’ve seen a lot of reactions to Rose’s goodbye but this one is the best! 👍💕
That ending is so hard to watch...no matter how many times I see it!
I saw this when it first aired in the 2000s.... holy shit. I cried for like 15 minutes and then wasn't right for a day.
Lovely reaction ladies. Plenty of heart-ripping storylines to come; leavened by tears of joy.
What a wonderful journey you have ahead of you. Episodes that will uplift you, episodes that will terrify you! Strap yourselves in, its gonna be a hell of a ride.
A beautiful reaction ladies. I'm glad to see that you have a comfort animal on hand at the end of the episode. You might be needing him for a couple of future episodes as well
Sprang a leak. Beautifully done, ladies.
Wow, what a reaction. Holy shit you two... continuing to be the best Doctor Who reactions ever. Keep these coming!
this episode was well put together with high emotions. glad u felt it too. cant wait for the many tear jerkers to come
Woof Woof doing his/her best to cheer you up.
I am a big Doctor Who fan and I believe I initially started watching the show within the 2010s when it was first on Netflix.
I got my Aunt and my Cousin into the show and they love the show just as much.
Although I was never really a big fan of Rose, but I do have to say that this finale set episodes were amazing and honestly really strong episodes of Tennant's first run of The Doctor.
FYI: Did you know that if you were 3D glasses (like the Doctor's) during the part where Rose sees the Void Stuff, it will be in 3D?
The sass in this episode from every character is just amazing. XD
Also, just let out your emotion. Cry, cause that's better than keep it inside until hurts.
Much better than becoming a Cyberman. XD
One consistent thing with Doctor Who: the tears will come! Great reaction. You G girls have great chemistry. 👍👍
Best reaction yet...so many tears though, tough way to end a season!
Inevitability with Doomsday - tears flow, it's a gut punch
Here comes the feel train.... 😢
As Rose is not one of my favourite companions, this episode never gets me emotional. I watch it for the Daleks and Cybermen.
Some fans adore Rose;others loathe her. As Katrina says, this romantic-type of relationship hadn't really been done in the series before (although it must be admitted that the 8th Doctor's one TV adventure had got pretty close). They pull back from it again after this - the companion goes back to being either 'fun sidekick' or protégé.
As much as I personally enjoyed Rose and the love story between her and the Doctor, I'm glad they did. The Doctor as a love interest doesn't work all the time. It has to make sense and be well written for it to work, otherwise it could fall flat on it's face. The show is almost guaranteed to be a success with the Doctor in the role of father figure/best friend/teacher, it's in the DNA of the show.
@@Mrazmatmahmood absolutely agree :)
Well, after that tear wrenching reaction you have a new sub here not to mention this was the first episode of New Who that broke me entirely as well and made me a fan of Tennant at the same time(Christopher Eccleston was my Doctor).
Before 2005, only a handful of particular episodes of very specific shows could even get me emotional let alone make me cry...and then I started watching Doctor Who...
You two are brill. " i might need chocolate" ha ha so much joy and pain to come and we will follow you Gallifrey girls all the way
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE comments like this! Thank you so much!
I waited all week for this reaction. All. Freaking. Week. And it was worth it. I love how quickly Paula was able to grasp things that were about to happen (i.e. more Daleks appearing). And Katrina being so emotional even though she was ready for what was about to happen. This is the epitome of what a reaction is supposed to be.
Great reaction!! Cant wait for some more tears in the next season....!
This is the episode I've waited for! Best reaction yet!
Great reaction!this episode always pulls on the heartstrings.you and justsoshayla had the best reactions to this episode.
The first time I've watched this episode I cried two hours in my bathroom. Paula handled it way better than I did 😂
I feel you so hard on this, though
I knew this one would be tough on you two. Can't wait to see your reactions to future episodes! So much crazy stuff yet to happen, but Doomsday is most definitely a hard checkpoint when you're too invested in the characters and everything that is happening. Great reaction as always!
One of my favourite episodes of Doctor Who ever. In terms of a one off episode it's fine but with the context of the season, the Doctor and Rose's story and the Dalek vs Cyberman matchup it's one of my all time favs and acts as an amazing finale.
When you both started crying BEFORE we got to the beach scene I actually started feeling bad for you both and wanted to give you both a hug because clearly the worst was yet to come.
That moment has NEVER failed to turn me into a complete blubbering mess.
There are times I wish I was more emotional to TV shows. But I couldn't imagine myself being this emotional. I can count the times I have cried to a TV show one hand. Luckily the final scenes of this did get me. As it should. There are times that I watch reactions and wished I cried too.
For RTD's few drawbacks (farting monsters #1), he really knows how to write a script that just wrenches you emotionally. I'm thrilled he is returning next year, and hopefully with a more mature outlook.
The Doctor is a Timelord. He sees time. He knew exactly how much time he had to speak to Rose. He chose to not say it.
The Doctor also knew when River would die but never told her
Magnificent reaction, you think this episode ruined you, you have no idea!
When this was new, my brother showed his teacher the Dalek v Cyberman confrontation. Apparently the old man thought it was hilarious.
7:55 & 11:30 And they say Doctor Who is just a goofy kids show.
Thanks for sharing ladies. Very kind of you. And being kind is good. ^^
I love your reactions to this show ladies! Heart felt and true whovian style!🙌🙌
"Social interaction will cease" The moment the daleks predicted social distancing.
lol I was thinking the same thing...
Oh my hearts !! That was so sad to watch you both going through that with your big sad eyes and red dribbling noses !! Seriously well done Gallifrey Gals !
Roses are Red
The Tardis is Blue
If it's my last chance to say it...
Rose Tyler, I --
Matthew Stephens oh my heart
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry watching your reaction to this episode, so i did both.
That's okay! We did both, too!
A couple of pieces of trivia about this episode. Because it was going to be so emotionally charged, the producers and director did it well out of order, which shows have done before.
Please there was a behind the scenes clip, maybe more than one where David Tennant and Billie Piper knew this was coming and knew it would take a lot out of them. Billie was crying for real.
After the director called cut, there's a bit where David and Billie held each other on that location, no one interrupted them.
Very emotional.
Doctor Who Companions go through a progression. They start out a starry-eyed kids, become battle hardened, and are eventually ready to conquer the universe.
The fans go through the same progression. We were having fun until Doomsday, and from this point on we live like the Doctor. Keep moving, keep seeing things; shake off the broken heart. There's adventures to have.
"This is not war, it is pest control" Great line.
14:35 the poor doggo looks like they had become attached to Rose and just couldn't come to terms with the episode...
Dogs know when people are hurting...no surprise that the dog showed up in the middle of all the tears.
Katrina I....I.......love your reaction
There are some sadder companion departures in old who. Tegan, adric, peri, Susan & Jo come to mind
Jamie and Zoe's is probably the saddest for me.
As excited as I get when people discover Doctor Who, there is a part of me that feels bad because I know episodes like Doomsday are coming and I know how that feels like. These episodes were filmed out of order. The very last scene that David Tennant and Billie Piper filmed together was the end of Satan's Pit when the Doctor says that they are the stuff of legend. Amazing reaction in a season of amazing reactions. Bring on season 3. Allons-y.
Well this doesn’t bode well for future eps. Many tears to come .
"I might need some chocolate" ha ha ha ha
Her dog saw the sadness and came to their aid.
10:17 I knew that was going to trigger Paula. Back in the Satan Pit when he didn't say she got mad. And a few other times. "AT LEAST SAY A PROPER GOODBYE" xx
Well, You tell him Paula!
Kat, don't think I didn't notice your beanie.
For my the Doctor and Roses relationship is more than just romantic it's a spiritual connection. They're soulmates, I don't see the "I love you scene" as a grand running after somebody in a airport declaration of romantic love I see it as two people so emotionally and spiritually entwined that they became a unit. It's a beautiful relationship and it is holy unique for Doctor Who.
Well done ladies! You've made it to the end of Season 2. Now for 'The Runaway Bride'!
Don't worry Paula. Getting used to new companions is part of the Whovian skill-set. It's tricky sometimes but you'll pick it up.
14:35 Cute dog!!
One of the most emotional episodes of Doctor Who, but I'm sure you'll get through it. We're whovians, we always make it through the tears and heartbreak. Now we're coming onto the peak of the show imo. Series 3 to 5 the show could (mostly) do no wrong. I can't wait!
I warned you to have tissues ready!!
Rose Tyler...
Yeah, there weren't any real romances between the Doctor and his companions during the Classic Who era; although there was the time that Tom Baker (who played the 4th Doctor between 1974 and 1981) and Lalla Ward (who played the 2nd iteration of the Timelord companion Romana between 1979 and 1981) fell in love while shooting the 1979 story "City of Death" in Paris. They got married a year later, but divorced after 16 months (they've remained good friends, btw).
The track when the breach closes... 28 Days Later vibes.
The Doctor will always feel alone on the inside... she says he does it all alone, he has been alone for a very, very long time
OMG, you are in for some real heart wrenching moments to come.... spoilers 😀
*This is not war, this is cyber-bullying!*
I am looking forward to your reaction to season 3 :D!
The first time i watched this I was so happy to see Rose go. But still my eyes imitated Victoria Falls. Dang it Doctor... those feelings.... 😭😭😭
Great reaction love the bad wolf bay reference
13:49 You can actually see the devastation of their souls, it's glorious :p
No matter how many times I see this episode, tears will still flow...
Confession, as a 90's girl I was very much into boybands, and Five was my big favorite. It had Ritchie Neville, who used to date Billie Piper, but my silly teenage mind was crushing badly on Ritchie, so as a result I had a huge dislike for Billie... teenagers be like that sometimes... when I first watched Doctor Who and saw Billie's name I tried real hard to dislike her, but within just a few episodes she had me sold. When this episode first came out I blubbered for minutes after it ended... made me reflect on how deluded a brain can be at times, and how opinions can change... Billie's an amazing actress and Rose was an amazing companion. I was quite sad to see that she'd left.
Was never a big fan of Rose so the emotions does not hit me very hard (not like some other ucoming companions), but i will not deny this is a great ending, both for the episode and for Rose Tyler. And the Doomsday theme raises every hair on my arms.
This episode gave me a newfound appreciation for Daleks.
been both dreading and very excited for this episode! great reaction as always and somewhat fitting as it is Tennant's birthday today lol :) goodbye dear rose
If this wasnt my reaction when i was 10 years old first watching it 😥 it still makes my eyes misty. I think doomsday was one of the most heartbreaking episode of dw (dont worry though youve got more coming)
Agree with all of the above, even though I was a lot older than you when I 1st saw Doomsday, it bought a few tears to my eyes! It still does when I watch great reactions to the ending. There will be certainly be future episodes where tissues or a dog or a cat will prove to very useful. Anyway onto series 3!
