There is only ONE factor which matters, WINNING!! What has England won since 66, nothing!! What wins football matches, goals!! We've had a chance to win at the Euros and what did we do, played defensively!! Unless we create we will never win anything!! And another thing, the stats in the Prem really count for nothing!! Foden plays in the best team in club football and surrounded by world class players!! He's not got that when he plays for England which us why he becomes invisible!! When Jose was asked who should never be dropped from England in the last Euros he said Kane and Grealish!! Who did Pep want to sign for Man City, Kane and Grealish!! Why did Pep sign Grealish, to win the champions league and they've won it!! Who did Kane say he wants to play alongside in the national team, Grealish!! Klopp said about Grealish "What a player". The clues are there but Southgate ain't looking or listening!! To win at a National level in a knock out competition we need our best most creative players who the opposition are wary of. Instead we play it safe and thus don't win anything!!

The honest truth is Southgate is a people pleaser and hasn’t selected a style of play… the prime example is the decision on Jude/Foden/Kane… one could argue that you can’t play those three players on the same game, Jude/Foden play on the half spaces and thrive where there’s an out and out 9 or no striker infront of them to create space between mid and defense, Kane enjoys the same role playing between midfield and defense he doesn’t sacrifice himself pushing the defensive line back… to create space for others… now play a Callum Wilson type player and have him push a defense all the way back and have Foden/Jude operating in the half space and you’re good or play wingers like Rashford/Sterling with Kane who will double as strikers when Kane drops back

I don't think there is a fear factor when it comes to playing England. There is respect and an acknowledgement of the quality, but I think the opposition relish having a go at this team. If the opposition were to have lost, well they had to travel a great distance, get acclimatised to the weather and have to try and ignore the boisterous home-side supporters. Brazil were labelled as underdogs coming into this match. So they had nothing really to lose. But what a feather in their cap if they could beat England on their home turf.

Our squad is not as good as people think, and pundits, whose job it is to be balanced and know about other teams, are criminally overlooking other nations. Our defence is depleted and shocking, Maguire captain case in point, and unless our first team attackers are in form and uninjured we will actually struggle for goals. Where does Souness get the idea England are so strong. Relegated from nations league performances were absolute dog shite.

Friendly matches at this stage of the season should really be just about trying out some fringe players. Overall performances and results should be taken with a pinch of salt.
