    Just discovered your channel, Richard. I've been after that Nirvana for years. I only have the single 'Pentecost Hotel', which is fantastic. I know Tuco (from Nebraska) found both the UK and US LPs at a garage sale for a few dollars last year. I hate him!😭

    I have a couple of more recent albums from the UK that I ordered and shipped here to America. Thee Sacred Souls debut album, but the Dinked Edition that as far as I know only a handful of UK stores participate in (Dinked Edition). And a Jalen Ngonda Dinked Edition record also. Both have alternative cover art, with a limited run. Thee Sacred Souls record is going for over 200 on Discogs right now, and Jalen Ngonda record is going for over 100.

    Hi Richard this was an interesting one ..that divine comedy album is one I’d like myself I only have it on cd .. I’ve not seen that twice upon a time I wish I’d picked up a copy of it in 1992. Thanks for sharing 👍

      Hi Rob, thanks for watching. Harris, and Stevie, have said in comments they have also not seen 'Twice Upon'. What is most surprising is how I was able to buy this relatively cheaply at a major music auction attended by many record dealers.

    Richard I enjoyed listening to your clip. I used to watch VC clips but grew annoyed with all the professional record hustlers. I find myself more interested in hobbyist rather than record shop owners. I happen to be a hobbyist who somehow (through great agony at times from the ex) never rubbished his collection. I always wanted the UK Nirvana album. Perhaps I should trade my US Nirvana albums (multiple copies of each) for a copy of the original?

      Thanks for watching, Jody, pleased to hear you found the video enjoyable. The UK Nirvana album is very well worth picking up if you get the chance to. The 1st pressing of it sounds superb but need to find a copy with the vinyl in EX condition - of course, those are usually the most costly!

    Prices never cease to amaze me.
    90s albums are often worth more as fewer were pressed. Never understood the vertigo swirl thing as some of them are shockers. The two banshees best ofs are tremendous. I rarely see them nowadays, especially that second one.
    Still looking for that Elf Lp.
    Interesting stuff Richard. Cheers, Chris

      Quite agree on prices, Chris. Taking the Heep as an example should it be that expensive just because of the label?
      The price range for the Divine Comedy 'Best Of' is giddy but further demonstrates that '90's vinyl is pretty rare. The CD of it is £1 in many charity shops.

    I made a video on my most expensive compilations as i had never thought people would actually pay a lot of money for them. I don't remember now if more than one had more value than ten or twenty, but the most expensive one was more than a hundred. I'm still amazed by it even though it was released in 1992.

      Some prices for '90's records are extraordinary - and 'Best Of's' are no exception to that it seems. I will check out your video, Pasi.

    Hi Richard. All of Us was reissued on vinyl as part of the excellent Songlife 6lp boxset. This was released by madfish in 2021. A great pickup for those on a budget. Great vid

    Very nice Richard 👏👏👏
    Yes I’m the same I’m constantly looking at records and buying and selling but I myself don’t actually keep that many records compared to others in the VC.
    Thanks for showing the records but also as always saying something interesting about each of them. So many VC members make these videos but don’t actually say what each record is about. They just pop up the record and I think to myself “oh that looks interesting” and quickly put it down 😅
    That Uriah Heep is very high on my want list but yes they are quite expensive and I can never find one in my price range that is in good enough condition to buy.
    Will you be at the fair tomorrow? I’m hoping to make it.
    I might have a look at my top 10, I did a video over a year ago and yes I think my top 10 might have changed a lot.

      Thanks, Martin, much appreciate your kind words. Yes, I will be at Soton tomorrow.
      I could have said a lot more about Nirvana. They were pioneering in that their debut album 'The Story Of Simon Simopath' was the first narrative 'rock-opera' album, predating S.F. Sorrow and Tommy by over a year. The song 'Rainbow Chaser' on 'All Of Us' as you may know was the first charting single to feature phasing throughout. The song 'The Touchables' also on the album is the theme song to the film of the same name released in 1968 and largely ignored then but is seemingly now regarded as a cult classic.

    That was interesting Richard. I think most of my 90s would make my top ten but I've not listed all on discogs yet. One day I will. Siouxsie didn't sell much they were on a downward spiral by then though some later hits were great. Peepshow and kiss them from me spring to mind. There was tons of best ofs and greatest hits repackaged or compiled as CDs around then. Thanks for sharing.

      @Vinyl-Heaven-And-Hell2023  Před 16 dny +1

      Thanks, Martin. It seems that much of the '90's vinyl sells for big prices as demand exceeds the supply - clearly even with 'Best Of's'. Harris said in his comment that he has never seen Siouxsie 'Twice Upon' so that is an indication of it's rarity.

    The vinyl you showed look in mint condition. I have a first 20 vinyl promo release of Columbia by Oasis, copies are on sale for £5k on discogs.

    Wow ‘Twice Upon A Time’ I’ve never seen it.l..& Ive seen everything at some point. I didn’t even see it during the vinyl. Slump years 97-2010....so there can’t be many!

    • @Vinyl-Heaven-And-Hell2023
      @Vinyl-Heaven-And-Hell2023  Před 17 dny

      Interesting to hear that, Harris. There are none currently listed on eBay. Maybe then the seemingly crazy price range on Discogs for this 'Best of' is more understandable.

    Double wow, Twice Upon a Time - The Singles. Likewise to the other comments, never seen it, its a unicorn. One UK on discogs at £200! Some interesting stuff there Richard, I'll keep my eye out as I think I saw that Heep but didnt have a clue.

    • @Vinyl-Heaven-And-Hell2023
      @Vinyl-Heaven-And-Hell2023  Před 17 dny

      It seems 'Twice Upon' is rarer than I realised. I bought it at an auction house in Dorset - surprising that my bid was successful as dealers there could have picked it up for relatively little money.
      Thanks for pointing out the video title goof, Stevie. Have now corrected it.

      I have a soft spot for indie compilations - often a cheap way to find interesting bands from various eras, though sometimes when you want some specific local rarity you just have to pay up.

    Most of these albums you could buy for 1vorv2 pounds before vinyl came back in fashion😢
