Also try an artist knead eraser.
They Do Not remove any paper fiber.
I have used mine on my white and lighter colored album jackets with No ill effects.

Nice job! We have very similar techniques. I've also had success cleaning CERTAIN covers with a drop or two of hand sanitizer on a microfiber cloth, helps remove ink as well. The previous user comment regarding an eraser is very effective on light colored covers.

I'll give that a shot. Appreciate the advice. My technique has evolved thanks to comments.

Very cool! Have you tried using a rubber eraser or a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to clean up the white background of the jacket. That might help take off some of the ring wear and dirt on the cover.

I'll give it a shot. I need to devote more time to the covers. I'm just so keen to play the record.

@@2ndchancevinyl use it lightly though. There are videos on You Tube that show how to do it.

I find most of the time the ringwear isn't external dirt or grime it's actually removed the colour of the jacket print itself so using a magic eraser makes it worse because you just remove it even more

the aussie record covers manufactured using the rough card outside/gloss inside for the record & inner sleeves have always been tricky to care for and restore

Great video! A rubber eraser will remove a lot of the spots, since it’s a white cover.

A couple of things: You need to include some kind of soap to break the surface tension. The water doesn't go into the groove of your record otherwise, and you're just cleaning the outer surface. Secondly, rather than blowing your record dry with a hair dryer, get yourself a wet/dry vacuum cleaner. Stick a cloth over the nozzle and suck your record dry. If you use a little soap in your washing process, the water will get into the grove and soften up the grime there. The wet/dry vac will suck all that out and you can see it collect on the cloth that you stick over the vacuum nozzle. You'll hear the difference when you play the record. Cheers

So, soap first then Alcohol mixture? I will try the wet/dry vac method of drying. A few have mentioned it?

@@2ndchancevinyl I made a video about my cleaning method 4 years ago. It's simply called 'Record cleaning video', I'll send a link in the next message. In it I give details about the cleaning solution that I use and my method using the wet/dry vac. Basically it is just my domestic way of replicating the cleaning method created by the expensive record cleaning machines available on the market. I'd be happy to hear your comments and observations. Cheers

The catalog number may point to the American release, but the label itself has a mention of Australia in the print on the rim of the label.

WOW. Just took a photo and enlarged it and can see that. So, that's suggesting an Aussie release?

It's an original. Sounds pretty good, but there are some imperfections.
