wow, these are getting better and better
Thanks for watching!
Would love to see a demo of how to use that RA-180 to bi-amp a speaker in a future review.
Stay tuned Marty! Thanks for watching and for the suggestion.
The design and interface looks great!
We think so too, Seth! Thanks for watching.
I have the rs150B and ra180 with dynaudio heritage special speakers, a great sounding enjoyable combination.
Wow! That is an awesome setup! Thanks for sharing!
What's the best way to connect the 150B to 180? and best way to control volume?
What's the best way to connect the rs 150 to ra180? And what app is the best to control volume and browsing stored music?
Great question. Every situation is unique. If you go to www.audioadvice.com you can chat or call our team and we would be happy to review your specific situation and give you the best advice possible.
What's the best way to connect the 150B to 180? As both devices have different apps, which app to use to browse music and control volume?
We saw this question was asked twice, so we are going to address the second part of the question. Regarding , the best app to browse music, the companion HiFi Rose app is the best one to use. It is extremely Roon-like and lets you do aggregate searches across all you connected music services and local files stored on any of the physical hard drives as well. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
NICE!
Thank you! Cheers!
How is the headphone amp on the RS201E? What about the 4K video capability? Is this just for music videos and clips off CZcams? Can’t attach a Blu-ray player as far as I can understand, so you can only play local 4K files from usb... not many options for media there, then...
We have not played around much with the headphone amp much but will. The HiFi Rose is all about a great music streamer that happens to have a way to play and hear their curated You Tube videos. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice indeed, it does look like an innovative product. Thanks for the reply!
Question: I’ve been a You Tube user for a few years now. I have compiled and saved multiple genre playlists. Would I be able to transfer my playlists from You Tube to Rose Tube or would I have to start compiling and saving my playlists again on Rose Tube?
We do not know the answer but will try and find out for you.
Does it play apple lossless? If so, that would be awesome!
Thanks for your question. All of the HiFi Rose streamers support Airplay 2, which can transmit wireless audio up to 44.1 kHz (CD quality). They also all support wireless audio over Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, full MQA decoding with Tidal, Qobuz, Internet Radio, Podcasts, DLNA, and they are all Roon Certified Endpoints, so they are Roon Ready to boot! Anything on Apple Music that is available in CD quality will stream in the same CD quality over Airplay 2. Until Apple increases the bandwidth to stream anything higher than CD quality, hi-res music higher than 44.1 on Apple Music will be capped and streamed at the resolution Airplay 2 is limited to (44.1/CD quality). Check out the full written overview for more on Airplay 2: www.audioadvice.com/videos-reviews/hifi-rose-network-media-player-overview/ Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@AudioAdvice thanks!
How does the Rose rs 150b compare to the Naim NDX2?
Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss the differences. Thanks for watching
I'm still not yet a fan of D class but they are getting better every year that goes by. This unit might sound great but it does seem somewhat gimmicky with all those useless gauge displays and pick your retro stereo face displays. Really that sounds more like an after thought.
We hear you and we thought the same at first glance when we saw it at AXPONA, but when any amp can provide 800 Watts of power, we have to take a second look, and we assure you there are no gimmicks. The RA180 is a sophisticated bi-amplification system. It has two 200W amplifier modules per channel with one amp that is optimized to deliver stable mid-bass and balance, while the other is designed to deliver smooth, clean power to the higher frequencies-up into the “super tweeter” area beyond 20kHz. The two amplifier modules per channel can also be set to a Bridge Tied Loads mode (BTL), which allows you to connect a single pair of speaker cables to each speaker and still benefit from 400W of balanced sound. This is just pure awesomeness. Thanks for watching.
Is the 150/150B comparable with the CAMBRIDGE AUDIO CXN v2?
We love the Cambridge CXN v2 for the money, but the 150/150B is several steps above the CXN v2. Thanks for watching.
@@AudioAdvice And with the RS201E?
@@ignaciosanmateoarenal2588 While you could technically plug in the audio outputs of the CXN v2 into the RS201e, if you already have a CXN, it would make more sense to get an integrated amp without a streamer.
@@AudioAdvice i mean if they are comparable. CXN v2 vs RS210
@@ignaciosanmateoarenal2588 Ahh, sorry, we have not had a chance to compare them yet, however it is not really an apples to apples comparison, you would expect the entry level HiFi Rose streamer only to sound better as it costs almost twice as much. The CXN is a great value streamer
The products look great. However, there are a few things that may not work out for many people.
If you only need a streamer, all of these at least have DAC in them, so can't cut down the cost.
If you buy it only for Roon Endpoint, there are good alternatives that cost way less. Also, Roon already had Qobuz and Tidal integrated.
If you buy it because it has a screen to interact with, it's not practical. Do you really want to get off your chair and go touch those icons? Using the tablet to control the unit is perfectly good enough and eliminate the screen to cut down cost.
Those are all valid points but none have all these have. Thanks for watching
Woooaaahhhhhh.... Hold on. Allow me to wipe the drool off my face. Man, these are very interesting. Thanks for this comparison Audio Advice!!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching.
Need to check on Airplay 2. I contacted Hifi Rose and I was told no AirPlay 2 . And not even in the future
Thank you for your question. All of the HiFi Rose streamers support Airplay2. They certainly don't look like a typical streaming DAC.
You would be right, Marty! Thanks for watching.
It all looks and sounds great however I have one question, My name is Aaron, how can I be Frank?
Haha good one. Thanks for watching, Aaron.
If you run an optical or coax cable from your Aaron output to the Hifi Rose input. That will make you "Frank" when it comes to true audiophile quality. 😉
I really, REALLY want the RS150, but I just don't think I can stomach the $5,000. price tag. May have to cave for the RS-250 instead.
Its on sale for Black Friday! www.audioadvice.com/hifi-rose-rs250-high-performance-network-streamer
@@AudioAdvice My apologies. I mean't the newer RS-250A for $2,695.00 which has not been released yet. The RS-250 is the older model and i suspect is being discontinued.
@@thetrumanshow4791 That is true, they appear to be switching up the internal DAC, we are not sure if its a parts issue or an improvement.
@@AudioAdvice Ok, so now we know for a fact, that not only is the DAC getting a HUGE upgrade, but also . . . the opamps, codec L/R power, and the word clock. Additionally, the chassis will finally become available in black (in addition to the silver). I don't know about you guys, but all of my many pieces of equipment (about 27 now), are ALL black. One big thing holding me back was the obnoxious/discriminatory silver color of the original RS250. I for one, am VERY excited about this newer, much improved RS250A model in black.
@@thetrumanshow4791 yes, we are too!
