As a tech company made by audiophiles for audiophiles, HiFi Rose builds & designs premium components that go well beyond traditional methods. We first experienced HiFi Rose at AXPONA this year and we were completely blown away by the design & the audio quality. In this review, we took a peek under the hood of HiFi Rose’s step-up model. The RS-250 steps up the build quality inside and out for an even greater emphasis on sound quality. Watch our review now to learn more about the design philosophy behind this new brand as we dig into the RS-250 network media player to explain all of its coolest features.
The chassis is made with high-quality aluminum that houses a linear power system, a high-performance DAC & a preamplifier for a modern look. RS250 offers elegant control over various multimedia services with high-quality sound and ultra-high-resolution 4K video from a very generous 8.8-inch wide touchscreen that is just super easy to use. If you have a legacy DAC that you just love the sound of with only S/PDIF inputs, then the RS250 could act as a network bridge. Or, use the RS250 as a DAC/preamp with a variable output, which is ideal for a power amp. You could also connect a phono preamp to the RS250’s analog inputs and use it with a turntable

What's even more impressive is the reviewer's luxurious, full head of hair, and solid beard. Yes, I'm envious. 😐
Thanks for watching
Looks amazing! I love the user interface and design, so slick!
Glad you like it!
Oh boy loved the RS201E streamer, but this review has just convinced me to step up to the more musical models. 🤤 This was great, thanks!
Great to hear!
Might want to listen first?
That's what I call an in depth review!
Thank you! We appreciate you watching.
Funny how I was listening to Let's Dance today and then bumped into your video
Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice amazing content you have here. Keep it up!
Great video, very helpful and concise. Looking to upgrade my NAD M10's, HI FI Rose is on my eval list!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Beautiful device 😍
It really is!
Okay, you've convinced me! I just ordered the new version one today 🤑from you! Love the reviews! And, love the live shows! So, you get my business!
Thank you. We appreciate you supporting our You Tube channel and small business. AA Live is going to go to a whole other level this year, we can not wait!
Good for you.. Hope you will be happy with it...
Thanks fir this, infirmative and useful...
Glad it was helpful!
Very impressive!
Thank you!
I owned 1 of these RS250 streamers. But 2 months later, a serious malfunction occurred in the device. It is unfortunate that there is no factory reset button. Therefore, I had to wait for the company to send me a new one. In general, I like it because of its integration with many streamer services and its high visual capabilities.
Hmmm. That does seem odd. We will look into it.
Lovely !!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Wow this thing looks and specs beautifully, add room correction, XLR and subs outputs to it and this would be an end gamer.
Thanks for sharing, yes, that would make it even better, good suggestion!
When you said "ideal circuitry" I cant hold myself.... LOL

Thank you for the video. I’ve been intrigued by this unit for quite a while. Short question: how it stacks up against Lumin D1 just in sound quality department.
Thanks for the reply in advance.

How’s the sound quality of digital co ax input if I connect my cd player? DAC bits/ khz? Thank u
Very good, it uses the ESS ES9038 Q2M DAC, which is excellent. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice thank u. Bought the Cambridge cxn v2 frm u guys & love it except when I use it as DAC for my CD player, it can only play 16 bits / 44 khz. I hope the RS 250 is way better. Probably I shud get a DAC. Thank u
Will this play amazon hd natively ? I don’t want to use Bluetooth or AirPlay. Also is the Dac on this competitive with a standalone Dac at a similar price point?
No Amazon at this point, but they did add Apple Music recently. The DAC is very competitive. Thanks for watching
the only criticism I have is that it does do upnp. I have my local music stored on a media server on my PC. the RD250 will allow me to see the folder on the PC as as shared drive but not allow me to see a media server. I was disappointed as I assumed that it would as it's DNLA.
Interesting, we will look into this. Thanks for watching
I currently have a Maratnz ND8006 CDP/Network streamer. How much of an upgrade (if any) would this be? Thx
Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss the rest of your system and your listening space. It would be an upgrade, but how much is dependent on the rest of your system. Thanks for watching
Hi, I was wondering what wireless earbuds under $200, would be good all around for example sound, mic, gaming, call quality, and etc?
These a slightly more but good sounding www.audioadvice.com/headphones-portables/headphone-features/wireless-headphones/klipsch-t5-ii-true-wireless-headphones
@@AudioAdvice thank you I appreciate it
LS50 Meta or Lumina II what did you guys prefer with the RS250

Does anyone know how this will treat MQA when using the HDMI out. I have a new Anthem AVM90 and want to use this to connect to my LAN to stream my hires FLAC and DSD library. Does this play SACD ISO's? Also, since it has HDMI out, does this have the capability to play movies too?
Sorry for the delayed reply, we sent your question to HiFi Rose. They say everything should work. However, the DAC's in your AVM90 are higher end than the ones in this model. You might want to reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss the best options.
If you're planning to connect it to an external dac and amp, is there any reason to upgrade to the 150?
Probably not. Thanks for watching
Any idea why Amazon Music HD native integration is quite hard to come by ? I only know of HEOS (Marantz, Denon), BlueOS and maybe one or two more... If HiFi Rose supports Amazon Music HD natively, I would be all over it !!!
Great question, its either lack of demand or they want to charge a lot for their integration
@@AudioAdvice Makes sense. It’s just not the same through Bluetooth or Airplay. Native is best so the device itself actually reaches out to Amazon Music and plays the music. Thank you !
I’m in a similar boat.. I need a streamer with amazon hd native. BlueSound node and the upcoming wiim pro are two solid options. I would like soemthing premium but these ignore amazon. The ifi premium unit runs volumino and also ignores amazon.
I like it all except for the price I have to believe you can get something of comparable quality and features far less than $2,500. If anybody has any suggestions let me know
Thanks for watching. We will be curious to see the feedback to your question as this unit is very good :)
Please tell them they need to upgrade the HDMi to eArc.
Thats a good idea. Even regular ARC would be fine. Thanks for watching

As I understand it, Qobuz is the highest quality streaming platform and Apple Music is the second best. Why them would devices like this not have Apple Music built in?
Is air play 2 not Apple Music ?
AirPlay is Apple Communication protocol for their devices. It is not Apple Music. You can stream Apple Music using AirPlay to an Device that is airplay equipped. The Rose uses Apples old protocol Airplay first gen. It does not accept Apple‘s new Airplay2 Which is far more stable with a very small delay times and allows you to stream to more than one device at the same time. I’ve contacted the manufactures of Rose and Airplay2 is not in there future. Which is sad.
Tidal is also very good. It is possible the cost for a small manufacturer to add Apple Music is prohibitive but we are not sure. Thanks for watching
Good news, HiFi Rose now has Apple Music built-in!
@@JonathanDerda Thank you Jonathan!! Great news
That hat could almost pass for human hair!
Nice turban 🤣
No wifi?
It does have Wi-Fi. Thanks for watching
🤤
Thanks!
My hifi rose, nice but ROSETUBE, stops streaming, ngek!
Be sure you've updated your unit.
I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. 🤦♂️
