Pepe Reina was off his line for EVERY save in that penalty shootout. He actually dived forward. The linesman stood there and let it go. VAR would have made them all be retaken thesedays
IFAB law on GK's foot to be on the line only changed in 2019 and FA Cup final was in 2006. Tbf, it was brilliance of Reina and Dudek from their 2005 CL final shootout to gain the edge within the law

Anton was saying there that he knew that we'd beat Manchester United that day even before the game started and I know it's different because I'm only a fan but I've also had that feeling a couple of times going into games.
The first one that I remember was the last game at the Boleyn in that special 15/16 season where we finished 7th and qualified for the Europa League.
That last game against Manchester United, all week in the build up I just knew we'd win it.
Even though I knew we had United, idc I still knew we were going to win it even when we went 2-1 down I STILL knew.
I knew that those players wouldn't let that last game at that iconic stadium be remembered for a defeat, I just knew they'd do everything they could to win it and they did.
And the second one I remember is just the entire Conference League last season.
Way back in July last year, even before our play-off against Viborg, I knew we were gonna win the whole thing.
I was saying to my Dad the whole way, "Dad we're gonna win this" he didn't believe me but I just knew.
Mainly because I knew that the standard of teams in that competition wasn't gonna be great but also because I knew we had just reached the semi-final of the Europa League the season before which is obviously harder than the Conference League with much better opposition.
So yeah I just KNEW we would win it, I was continually saying to Dad all the way through the competition "If we can beat teams like Lyon and Sevilla (the kings of the Europa League) and get to the Semi-final of a competition harder than this then we can DEFINITELY win this"!
I obviously didn't expect to be as good as we were, going through the whole tournament unbeaten and thrashing everyone left right and centre 4-1 Gent and 4-0 Larnaca and 3-0 FCSB etc but I certainly knew we'd win it yeah.
So yeah although it's obviously on a smaller scale, I know how Anton felt that day cuz I have felt it too 😁
