- This interview is Part 1 of The Anton Ferdinand Story. Anton Ferdinand sat down with us to explain his footballing journey ahead of his new series on FIVE CZcams channel called 'The Secret Scout'. The Secret Scout focuses on young talents and their potentials up and down the country along with Stephen Howson.
Rio & Joel thought it was fitting to interview Anton seeing as he had an interesting journey coming up through the West Ham ranks. Anton opened up about the pressure's of being Rio Ferdinand's younger brother and what he had to do to overcome the negativity in his career. Anton also filled us in on his Premier League career and missing out on the England National Team. Anton has 0 ounce of jealousy in what his brother went on to achieve. I love the relationship he has with his brother.

Anton and Rio both have the comfortable confidence to discuss moments of vulnerability and failure growing up. Very mature. My Dad always used to say real men embrace their emotions and conquer them they don't go running from them and hide.

You already know what time it is when Anton Ferdinand is now being interviewed. Credit where it is due. He had a decent career. But in life no matter what if you have an older sibling you're always going to be compared to them and sometimes it's a challenge to live up to what they have accomplished but that's why it's best to stay on your own path.
Yeah, and it's even tougher considering the career path Anton chose is exactly the same as Rio's.
I met Anton at Wiresless Festival chilling with Danny Simpson in 2013. They both gave me picture and were proper nice top guys. Salute

Yeah there's one thing about Rio that's quite contagious. When you speak to him it seems like you just involuntarily open up, makes you comfortable . No wonder he is just such a likeable guy....I just have immense respect for him

Absolutely love Anton. Was part of the West Ham team that made me fall in love with football.
I got a message for anton. I remember watching that final as a young West Ham fan (was 14 years old), was absolutely gutted. However, don’t think that we lost because you missed. That game should never have gone to pens in the first place. Even then, you had the balls to take one when no one else wanted it. Even if you’d have scored, who’s to say the next taker wouldn’t have missed his pen and we still lose.
