Love how casual the layout of this is. A group of mates tucking into a Nando’s and having a conversation about football. Comes across as very natural.

I think this is genuinely the best football programme on either the internet or t.v....casual talk, a respectful difference of opinions and a good mix of characters. Always entertaining

Rio’s reasons for not going into management are admirable, knowing that he needed to be there for his kids at such a difficult time. One of the best defenders we’ve ever produced. Great guest and great show.
Get Denis Irwin on, him and keano reminiscing be great, and the Ireland stories be the best, paul McGrath be a good shout too

I've lived in Spain for over 20 years now, and I've played plenty of footy over here. The Rio anecdote about Busquets saying they played "boom, boom, boom" and his hand gestures, he's actually referring to them as being very physical with their challenges and banging into them instead of intercepting the ball cleanly.

I agree totally
So interesting to hear Rio's comment regarding QPR and wages right after Les Ferdinand's interview
Just goes to show the difference in generational players
Incredible how manager mindset influences a team.
I remember Sir Alex being interviewed when he was Aberdeen manager, they had just beaten Rangers in the cup final, yet he was furious about their performance.
That's a perfectionist, that's a winner 😊
He very nearly lost the dressing room because of that. A lot of that Aberdeen team don't talk to him
@@calumhyder339-A better question is how did Aberdeen do after Ferguson and how did Ferguson do after Aberdeen?
@@calumhyder339 He won a league and cup double the following season so pretty clear he knew what he was doing.
I find the conversation on the england team dynamics so fascinating in how each time they revisit England they seem to reveal more about the interpersonal dynamics and the psychology that SAF drilled into Man United players. Wrighty's comment about them just seeming like these fascinating winning machines or drones, and Gary's about how they always seemed exclusive due to how their standards were so sharp regarding being first and being early, and being bonded as brothers, just fascinating
I must say.. Roy is an absolute class act. Whenever there is a guest he allows them to shine. Drops a gem or two but predominantly allows the guest to shine! 👏

This show is gold. Watch on CZcams and listen on Spotify whilst at work.
Very satisfying listen from players i always respected. Even Carragher😂😂😂
Jamie is right about Rasford, he’s an okay player, not getting at him all.
He decides when he wants to try and when he doesn’t feel like it, he’s a disgrace to the United badge
If he was an okay player it wouldn’t be a problem for me. What’s incredibly frustrating is that there’s a top player in there that just disappears and appears as he chooses fit.
Still overrating him saying his the level behind the likes of a Salah. It's not the level below it's about 3 levels, not even in the same stratosphere of these elite world class level players.
@@brettpearce8843yep, he's martials at best. If he wasn't local he'd have been gone years ago.
@@brettpearce8843Last season both Salah and Rashford scored 30 goals.. Rashford had 6 more appearances, but that still shows levels are not all that different when Rashford is on it. I would agree he doesn't deserve it if there is such bad consistency but the reason some mention these things is he's shown he can be at times. Rashford is also 5 years younger.
This is the best of Rio I've seen in a while. Actually spoke sense and gave a different view point than his usual

I think it would be incredible if you could get either Patrick Vieraor Thierry Henry on the podcast. Deffo be the most popular yet!
Wouldn't be surprised if we see Henry on this podcast in the next 6 months
The insights into David Moyes is essential viewing for anyone following Klopp at Liverpool - absolutely fascinating. This podcast is gold.
The best thing on CZcams! Not just soccer, not just sport; the best show! Get entertaining, knowledgeable and interested people together and allow Gary Neville to ringmaster it. The ability and acumen of Gary Neville, as well as his willingness to allow others to be more knowledgeable and take the lead when it is warranted, along with his lack of ego when they needle him and his self deprecation is incredible. Could write all night about this panel and the ‘chemistry’ but I need to listen!
The excuses the media can find for Rashford is just amazing. And they always start with 'he's a great player, but'. Is he though? Absolutely not.
He's absolutely rubbish, its because he got that MBE
He is okey. Prem league level. But not world beater.
You know people don't believe what they're saying when it's X, Y, Z but..... Nobody says VVD, Salah, KDB ect are world class, but ... They're just world class full stop. If you have to argue the point someone is world class it proves they're not.
I've never seen such an average, uncharismatic player dominate the media attention like this before. His PR team are without doubt the best in the business.

Always liked Rio. He was under a lot of pressure not just when he joined United, but when he went to Leeds too. He was a British transfer record when he went there and I remember seeing his debut live at Filbert Street. He had a rocky start and Leicester won convincingly 3 - 1, but faced the challenge and became a better player for it.
Rashford was not only United's golden boy but also England's golden boy coming onto the scene. The drop in performance was always going to be a big topic.

The way the players describe that Barca team is scary. They were truly the best team of all time.
Barca took their souls that game.
Ac Milan of the 90's would destroy Barcelona. Best left back in history... Maldini. One of the 2 best sweepers in history... Baresi. One of the greatest right backs... Tassoti. One of the greatest central defenders in history..Costacurta. All italian internationals. Playing in the hardest league in Seria A. That was the top level then. Defensive Midfield.. Rijjkard. Middle.. Donadoni , Ancellotti, Gullit and Seedorf. Up front Van Basten ( 3 balloon Dor's and greatest centre forward in history). Along with R9. Papan was the other forward. We have never seen telepathic football like that before or after that Barca team under Pep. It is easily the greatest team of all time. They played faster than opponents were able to think or act.
Strange the midfield? Barca were the best pressers and passers in the world aside from being technically superior so if anything they’d both press each other like madmen but Barca would outplay them as well.
Also, you don’t have to lie to make your point either.

Haha the only time Keano fires up is at reminiscing training. Pure gold. You can tell there's very little relationship between Rio and Keano
During the era he went off on the Prawn Sandwich Brigade rant (05) called out Rio. Said he was a little too slack and thought he'd already made it after not proving that much.
