    I put on the Oxford Heaterz grips and was able to route the cable below the fuel tank and above the radiator fan and zip tie it in saving the time of taking off the tank. I'm installing the thermo-bob soon which came with the tach and temp gauges. I like JP1970's double take ram mount mirrors as an option and may put those on at some point. I appreciate you working on the new KLR650 because there are few folks out here making videos of their 2022 KLR650 builds. Keep up the good work!!!!

      I'm going the same route on the Oxfords NOW!
      I don't want to repeatedly dismantle the bike! Bolts strip, washers & spacers get misplaced etc.

    Bro ~ great video - thanks - I especially appreciate your editing where you advance the timeline - you do a great job of quickening the pace - its good! Keep that up and thanks ( I just scored a KLR650 2022 about 3 weeks ago so keep ‘‘em coming 👍🏽) btw - I’m looking for a large rear aftermarket deck plate to install , you know one of those thick aluminum CNC machine cut anodized outsize plates for strapping a bunch of gear onto ? Yahhh, if you run across one of those , make a video !

    Great video. A great help when installing my tach and Thermo Bob 2. Using the bolts and nuts as well and almost gave up and was going to wait for my younger son to try. Tried it your way and still nearly impossible but somehow managed to get those in there with two finger tips just barely. Such a tight space any angle you try. Got ur done and works great.
    Thx

    The acc fuse on the '22 KLR is always hot. Leave grips on = dead batt = dead due to exposure for me. Learned that one on a DRZ. Not a good night.
    Run a relay off the turn signal circuit via the underside input wire (deep box side) as its switched with direct power from the battery with a 7.5amp inline. Works tits, safe and if you wanna double up fuses, tap to low box side, if it trips the 10amp, wont get you rear-ended by some bozo b/c no brake lights. B)

    Just a heads up on the way he wired the heated grips. I have a 2022 traveler edition and this problem maybe because it has the auxiliary plugs, but with the adapter wire plugged into the accessory 15a fuse panel you'll still have power without key on. So basically, it's as if the grips are wired direct to the battery. Also, with the adapter wire in the fuse panel the protective cover for said fuse panel will no longer work. What sucks is I already chopped wires to do this set up. Now I'll have to find another way to wire the grips.

    • @FullThrottleJunkie
      @FullThrottleJunkie  Před 2 lety +1

      I didn't cut any of the wires on the factory side of the harness that's why I plugged into the fuse with the fusible link. I haven't had any issues with mine everything is still working fine

    • @nyannyan123456
      @nyannyan123456 Před 2 lety +1

      @@FullThrottleJunkie I didn't cut anything on the factory side either. The only thing I cut was the inline fuse for the heated grips. So that I could solder the fusible link onto the heated grip. Just like you did in the video. My problem is the 15 amp accessory fuse that you paired up with on the harness has power no matter the ignition switch position. Also did you have to remove the fuse harness cover? There's no way you can close it with the wire link coming out. Thanks for replying back btw.

      @@nyannyan123456 if it still has power running to that fuse maybe try another fuse port. I just left the box open I don't remember which port I plugged it back into I have had it apart several times since this video I'll have to check and see which fuse it's plugged into now
