I have the 2022 version of the helmet 2.0 meant for coms. its a nice helmet but eventually the sun visor will loosen up and start to rattle and there is no way to tighten them to stop the rattle. I tried to loosen them and use thread lock but unfortunately its all plastic so the metal tnuts just pull though the plastic :/. was curious on the pants and jacket tho.

I did mine at 4k miles, 3 out of 4 were out of spec on the tight side. Typical symptoms, hard cold starts, too much vibration etc. Set everything to the upper limit. Now at 12k miles, I'm getting the same symptoms, and generally feel a significant decrease of power especially in higher RPMs. So it's time to do it again. Surprised that it only took 8k miles, but I was riding it pretty hard, including lots of offroading and riding in hot places, so I suppose that accelerated the wear.

This video is very helpful. I just did the doohickey on my 2022 klr650 and somehow messed up the valve timing. I have to pull the valve cover off and check to be sure but I am 90% sure I messed it up. The bike starts and runs fine until i start moving. As soon as i release the clutch I'm met with misfires and the bike doesn't wanna go anywhere. I've taken everything apart in the left side of the motor and double checked everything and still no luck. I am assuming i jumped a tooth on the timing by rotating the engine in the opposite direction as normal trying to line up the rotor for the holder to get the rotor off and on.

Thanks for posting this- I just installed the same crash bars on my bike: same as yours, and seeing the vid first helped. All went ok though it's a juggle getting in the through bolts with the spacers and washers (behind the skid plate mounting plate); managed it but it would help to have a friend or be an octopus. I found using some straps to keep the bars more-or-less in place helped.

I think I need to do valves. Im 18,800 and my rpms are not staying steady. Had the carb gone through, and that didnt fix it.

I like it with no muffler haha. Too bad there isn’t a good way to adjust the fuel map. Did you ever install / figure out the power commander? I have heard there are crazy limitations to the dynojet adjustments, that is according to the dynojet people themselves due to “legalities” of emissions.

Do you like your windscreen blacked out like that? I ride a lot at night on Gravel, so… I think I would hate that. what was the DA (density altitude) on the day you tested and topped at 96mph? someone else topped 100 on the stock.

I would have thought a bigger rear sprocket would be the preferred way to go. I haven’t researched much at all, I just know that it can go 70-75 before going into 5th gear without rapping her out too much and maybe its just me, but on dirt I can’t get the front tire off the ground without using the clutch (which I typically hate to do) again, I only have 125 miles on a gen 3 2024 KLR which is brand new also. Which… My bike for years has been a CR250R 2 stroke with reeds / carb upgrade / etc etc which rips but of course its apples and oranges. I need a rippem meter / etc etc on the KLr but waiting to break in motor / factory warranty before I do too much.

About the only thing I would add is the fuel injected bikes need a fuel pump that can fail and they are usually inside the tank so not an easy fix on the trail.

Have you ride a real long distance in any motorcycle? Everything that you said is not comment for a real rider. If you real like motorcycle even a land mover is good to ride
