Another interesting video. I haven't changed mine out yet, but plan to do so in the near future. Thanks for the video and information. I'll have to wait until the snow melts to work on it! Very thoughtful of you buying the other half a motorcycle.

Honestly I think you nailed it when you said "One might get some chain slop" after many many miles on a gen 3 bike but as a former owner of a gen 3 bike the do-hickey itself and the spring seem to be
more durable than gen 1 and 2 bikes. Great video.

All I know is I've never heard of anybody putting in the Eagle Mike version and then having a problem with it.

Where are you located I need a good bike mechanic. I’m ok with tools but I’m really new to all these bikes.

I bought a 2023 KLR 650 a few months ago and I don't plan on changing out the tensioner on mine. I have seen guys tap on the side cover to try and make sure the tensioner adjust after lossining and I just though would it be helpful to have the bike in gear and just push it a bit forward and backward to make sure it adjust?

Yeah tapping on the cover seems to be enough just back the bolt out a few turns and should be good for a little while
