In this Dye Time, I hand paint a new to me, unusual plant based fibre; banana! I had some banana fibre that I decided to spin into yarn, then dye. And since it's banana, I had to go with yellows! I only have two fibre reactive yellows, lemon yellow and daffodil, so that's what I used. This was a very interesting experience and the whole way through, I kept saying to myself "I can't believe this is made from bananas!"
Fibre reactive dyes can be used on plant based fibre and animal based fibres. Acid dyes can only be used on animal based fibres.

I have a monthly yarn subscription that can be purchased through my Patreon: / fromthecauldron Each month you'll receive 100g of yarn in your chosen weight dyed in a mystery colourway and some goodies made by other small businesses. Another perk for Patreons is they get early access to the video where I dye that month's yarn and they get to vote for next month's theme.
