  • We review the newest subwoofer from SVS. The 13" sealed SB3000. Its a small box with big sound. It's the brother to the SVS PB-300, which was released at the same time.
This could definitely be a part of the best home theater system of 2019. The subwoofer review was after weeks of use.

I'm so glas I didn't buy this sub as a lot of bullshit reviews claimed perfomance was almost identical to the sb4000 but the reason I am upgrading is my monitor audio gold subs would bottom out on certain scenes and if I had bought this sub on the word of those reviews and had it bottom out too I would have been devastated.

Could you try the PB-1000, Might be unnecessary since you've got the PB-3000. But if you could make a deal out with SVS or buy it yourself, I and probably a lot of other people would appericate it. Never really seen any good reviews of it and it's one of the craziest 10 inch home theater subs out there. in my room which is about 1400 - 1500 ish cubic feet, I get it to do about 117 dB at 32 Hz, and 109 at 24 Hz. I'd say that's impressive for a 10 inch which isn't even that expensive. Anyways thanks for the quality videos! And also do you prefer sealed or ported subs? I know sealed is apparently tighter, fast and more accurate, had a sealed 8 a year ago. It was exactly how people describe sealed sub but really tight subs, like 6,5 inch subs and below doesn't sound that pleasing to me. I'd rather use ported for both movies and music, let's say the PB-100 since i was asking about it and got it myself, It's not inaccurate, slow or anything. I find "loose" bass or soft bass more pleasing that listening to extremely tight sounding subs. Also it's tuned to like 22 Hz it's extremely flat and it produces 40 Hz and below better than the SB-1000 or SB-2000 would do. People complain about it sounding "boxy" but i don't notice it at all. I've tried the PB-1000 sealed, it got the same difference as when you did the PB-3000 sealed vs ported. My problem with it being sealed is that you lose a little bit of that magic the port is doing, The low lows almost disappear completely. Also if you're doing a 2.1 with a ported sub, the towers/bookshelves will add the "tightness" you lose with nothing running it sealed or having a sealed subwoofer.

I’d love to see a head to head of the SVS SB-3000 vs the HSU ULS-15 MK2... I think it would be a pretty great duel both being sealed subs... the way you describe it is a lot like my HSU, my HSU completely pressurizes my 500 square foot theater room... it’s extremely fast but also completely enveloping I think the 15inch driver on the HSU might give the 3000 a little bit of a run for its money. I knocked candles off my upstairs mantel with just one after watching aquaman and shook the wall mounted TVs 2 stories up(theater is in my basement) 😂...But I can’t say that it’s better or tied with the SVS without you doing a head to head lmao!

I'm about to pull the trigger on a SVS sub but my dilemma is dual 1000 or single PB 2000 as the price for either set up is the same, my vendor keeps telling me I will get way more out of the single 2000 than dual 1000's because my theatre room is considered big and if I'm I don't get enough bass I can always add another 2000 (18X18). buy sub's is such pain because they get expensive and much more complicated than people think as it's a major part of the set up. what's your advice ?

    • @tHAvIlLaMaN

Normally I‘d say that 2 smaller subs are better than one big one because it evens out the bass response, but that’s a pretty big room. So you might need 2 of the 2000s to really pressurize it.
