    It's not just the 12 inch driver circumference that makes it. It's also how deep the driver is too and SVS delivers clean detailed bass. Unlike your typical sub that has shallow drivers, this sub can be paired with just about ANY speaker because it can go below 20Hz!!

    SVS speakers and Subs are more than worth the money. Having gone the full monty of upgradieitist from a SB-1000 to a SB-2000 Pro to a SB-3000 to a SB 16Ultra to a PB 16Ultra. Great Subs. Great App. Great Customer Service. Great trial periods. Is there better out there.....sure. But, when you add in all the extras combined with the performance.....it's hard to look elsewhere.

    This is a great deal. To run with our comment, I agree quoting a price is not a good idea but right now the gloss is 599 and the wood-grain is 599 bargain with ether one. Nice video... Thanks I just got the gloss unit.

    I would have guessed it to be a 10" surprising. EDIT: I love how they have hi level speaker inputs, why eveery sub doesn't have them is beyond me. you want to use them instead of having your speakers powered fro ma different device if your power amp doesn't have sub out then don't use your pre amp sub out, use he hi -input speaker terminals on the sub.

    What do you think the use case for this sub vs the SVS 2000 pro? I am still undecided if i should get the 2000 pro for my living room and worry it's an overkill with too much power.

    • @macvos
      @macvos Před rokem

      What are your room dimensions? With correct EQ and volume via the app (or built-in from the AVR, like Dirac or Audyssey), power shouldn't be a problem. Think of it like a powerful engine in a car: you don't have to use each and every horsepower, but it's there as a reserve for when you need or want to use it.
      Regarding the 1000 vs. the 2000: I've been unsure about the same decision myself. In the end, because of the extra headroom of the 2000 (more powerful amplifier and stronger magnets on the driver) and the size of the room it's in (50 m2), I went with the 2000. It's supposed to be a bit cleaner as well, but it's mainly the extra power that's supposed to be noticeable.

    Thanks for the review! I'm late to the party but finally decide to upgrade my old and worn out Polk Audio 10" with this. The SB is actually smaller but offers a hell of a lot more presence and goes at least 10 Hz lower. Part of me wanted to go with the PB since I watch a lot of movies, but this is more than enough for now.

    Does it really go down to 20 at an audible level? For instance 10 feet away from it at for instance 70db? And I'm not talking about a generated 20 hz tone, I'm talking about a track that has 20 hz content

    • @mykandrew

      Once you hit the sub 20hz level it’s a combination of hear and feel which is enjoyable when listening to tracks that have that type of bass.

    I have a question: it's rated at 325 watts, but if I have it turned ON but no music is coming out of it, it is still consuming 325 watts?

      Powered on but with no signal, consumption will be in the low single digits. If you use the auto standby function, the standby power consumption is rated at 0.5W. If it's consuming 325W, your neighbours and probably their neighbours are going to notice.

    • @macvos
      @macvos Před rokem +1

      @@LuisJacob366 200Hz and up is ridiculously high for a sub. The limit of localisation is somewhere between 80 and 100 Hz, so at 200 Hz and above, you're going to notice these frequencies coming from the sub instead of the main speakers. Yes the SVS can play those frequencies, but I really wouldn't want those frequencies coming from the sub.

    • @LuisJacob366
      @LuisJacob366 Před rokem +1

      @@macvos yes I understand but I have a Bose pro32 tower without subwoofer it’s too heavy and tower plays from 200hz and up and Bose sun play till 200hz. That’s the reason. I have various subs now to use with the system than you

    • @macvos
      @macvos Před rokem

      @@LuisJacob366 sure, if that's the situation, you have to work with what you've got. But I would seriously consider swapping those speakers. Bose is/used to be fairly populair second hand, so you might be able to trade up without losing money. Decent speakers reaching to 80 Hz don't have to be expensive.
