      @@Kspat2 A 10 game purple patch where he scored in the majority of them. Pre-World Cup he was playing pretty much like he has this season. Came back from World Cup, had that purple patch, bagged that new contract and his form dropped off a cliff tail end of last season and continued into this one.
      Boy's got talent, but has no work ethic or the mentality to be a top class player. He's nothing more than a moment player, where he'll score a goal like he did against City and then be a passenger the rest of the game where he might as well be warming the bench because he's no use to the team.

    • @TheLastAngryMan01
      @TheLastAngryMan01 Před měsícem +1

      United have literally been trying to sell him on for the last three or four years or so. The problem with Martial is similar to a lot of other squad players at United (Maguire, McTominay, Van de Beek, Phil Jones until he was moved on): they earn so much on long term deals that they would rather sit on the bench than take a wage cut to get first team football elsewhere. Therefore United struggle to sell a lot of players on, unlike City or Liverpool.
      You also look at a lot of players who have been at United in recent years and a lot of them seem to have attitude problems.

    • @jaytam1522
      @jaytam1522 Před měsícem +1

      @@TheLastAngryMan01 you got that spot on and makes sense. Talking abt attitude.. I think that the atmosphere of ManU started changing for the worse when the likes of Pogba and Lingard came into the scene and they were more into what color hair they sported… and yesss simply put they’re just paid way too much.

    • @TheLastAngryMan01
      @TheLastAngryMan01 Před měsícem

      @@jaytam1522 Absolutely. A lot of young players there seem to have the same issue, Lingard went over a year without playing any sort of football because of his crazy wage demands. I wonder if part of it is that young players don’t have to do the menial chores that the previous generation did, scrubbing boots, pumping up the balls, turning the sod at OT etc.
      Don’t get me wrong, some of that stuff went too far, the spins in the washing machine or ball blackenings etc, that is rightly in the past. But you have 16 year olds now with a massive sense of entitlement and huge social media followings before they even kick a ball at senior level, and it seems to blunt their desire to get the best out of themselves.

    Rashford's departure is essential. Ever since securing that contract, his work ethic has plummeted. It's frustrating to witness him being handed penalties simply to boost his confidence; that's unacceptable. Bruno is the designated penalty taker, and the thought of Rashford missing, considering his current form, is hardly far-fetched. If he had, it would have only shattered his confidence further. ETH should have ripped Bruno a new asshole for giving that penalty to Rashford. I don't need to see "class" from the captain, I, we, want to see aggression, commitment and the will to run all fucking day long for the money they are paid.
    Given Rashford's hefty paycheck, he ought to shape up or ship out.
    Manchester United deserves players who perform at their best consistently.

  • @aurynwestwield1682

    Look, Rashford's a perfect example of how PR teams can make a player a social media success by getting him to do just a few off the field actions which will override his on field actions and we all know the Glazers value commercial success over trophies! - and it's this mindset that will keep United forever in the mud whilst they're are here operating this way.

    Personally I think Man United have not done enough to fill the dressing room with the right characters, if players were more accountable (to each other) then they would reflect that desire on the pitch. When Ronaldo identified the problem he used it as an opportunity to sulk rather than be a leader. The other big issue is they should get rid of dead wood, the martial situation has been painful and damaging

      Plenty will be gone in the summer . Martial will be the first sneaking out the back door with his big bag of dosh , just turned 28years old and scored just 12 prem goals in thee last 4seasons at United why did he get that last contract , my bet is he will retire from football in June. Set for lift just like they all are , just won't put the effort in . 28 years old just think about that .

Imo he needs to be sold . Thing is how many united players have we said that about recently? Sancho comes to mind just can't handle criticism and wouldn't knuckle down and graft , there are others but they aren't good enough as footballers for united and have been found out .

    There's no spine to this team a lot of the time. The captain is more of a baby than a fighter, but who else would you give the armband to? Very few players are of that ilk in the entire squad.
    Right now I'd rather United were a team of average Premier League players that are at least willing to give every last drop of sweat just to keep gracing the pitch at Old Trafford, than to have a bunch of spineless lazy primadonnas. At least you can build on that.
    The squad needs a clearout, but this is said every single year now.
