Guys you’ve chopped this video up so much it’s hard to get from start to finish
That Nani sending off was the angriest I’ve ever been at a game.
Truly disgraceful
Same here
Without evening watching the video, I know you are talking about that nonsense red card in Fergie's last UCL game against Real Madrid
Im still annoyed when i think about it.Shocking!
The Rafael sending off against Bayern had me furious too.
@@krushjones6596rafael was ALL OVER ribery that game too. Absolute joke
This man is United through and through. Much respect, Mr. Gill!🙌🏼❤️
Yeah Part 3 is out! 🤩
Very good content and interviews as usual! Question: why was this not one big interview? It seems quite fragmented to watch across multiple videos.
Again superb to listen to this guy,a class act.
Incredible insight into what went on in the Sit Alex years at Man Utd, mythical behind the scenes look, thanks Rio and 5
Sacking Keane was a cowardly move. They were looking for an excuse to move him along & didn`t have the balls to confront him. All he did was give an honest evaluation of a poor performance in his absence.
Exactly, a poor move by Whiskey Cheeks there
That heartbeat sound at the start I thought it was me or radiator in house leaking ahhhh
Saw him at a brilliant talk at Birmingham Uni just after he retired... Loved that he was a United fan, a fellow Birmingham Uni Alumni that went onto do what he loved. He has a great mind!
David Gill was only concerned about the team doing well and not making money 🙌🏻
Excellent work lads.
His outlook on Football incredible. You can see how much of a huge cog he was at United, he's been nowhere near replaced.
amazing insight , could listen to David Gill all day, really want to hear about the Ronaldinho deal
man u wanted to sign him then Barca came in for Ronaldinho and he joined the bigger more glamorous club
lol he didn't join the more glamorous club, the truth is that for 99.9% of Brazilians and Argentinians, Barcelona or Real Madrid is the dream club. End of. United are as big a club as Barcelona, if not bigger. @@Jporter196
nowhere near signing him all the top superstars reject this club
Kenyon screwed that up. Ronaldinho was coming but Kenyon reduced the offer.
@@Jporter196 Barcelona bigger than United? 😂😂😂😂
Just come across this channel. Love it
This is like piers Morgan just give the full interview!!! 😂😂
Should of released this as one podcast…
prob had to cut some stuff out
@@powerkingez9682you do realise u can have full interview thats cut already its called editing
This is what you call a teaser so people will watch the full podcast when it's out..which it is now
@@brennyN777 I think you need to read the definition of teaser. They dropped the whole thing sloppily in 5 parts and after the backlash of the community realized the error and put all 5 parts together. No new parts were released in the longer version that’s just the 5 already released parts edited together. It’s fine we have moved on, you’re welcome for the education.
Nah it’s better like this haven’t timento watch all in 1 go
Mr. Gill (as I will now also call him) is such a well spoken individual. He's also got a fantastic disposition about him, given he was the CEO of the largest football club in the world (at the time). You can see why United were so unbelievable on the pitch, when you had Mr. Gill and the stalwart that is Sir Alex Ferguson behind the scenes. Miss those days...
Still is the largest football club in the world
@@jonwilliams3664not in your wildest dreams bud 😂
Why release it in soo many parts?? Just a Part 1 and Part 2 would've been soo much better
I'm sure that privately there was some sort of reconciliation between Sir Alex & Roy Keane when he had his brain haemorrhage, or when Lady Kathy died. I don't think they'll ever go public with it, but Keane's stance towards United seems to have softened a little bit recently, being featured in the away kit launch etc. I'm sure that something's happened behind the scenes, because I wouldn't want anything to be left too late.
Yeah that’s wishful thinking mate
They have never reconciled. And never will. Who cares??? It is what it is. People fall out all the time. That’s life.
I think that info would spread like wildfire in a couple of days. It would be nice though.
Hah, with all respect mate you don't get Roy Keane if you think that. That man would disown his own child if they crossed him and wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it.
He wouldn't give two fcuks about his relationship with Fergie or lack thereof. Completely unimportant to him.
This is great! Five is killing it!
Not as much as the overlap
Grow up lads.
Keane was the natural successor to Ferguson and at Liverpool it would of happened, Keane already ran the dressing room and McLaren even told a story about he wanted them to have a few days off and Keane said no we keep going and that shows the power he had and just listen to the other players when they speak about him. It would of been perfect
Genuinely believe the only club roy kean would manage would be united.
@@Manchester90united Lol, don't ever look into him being manager at Sunderland or Ipswich previously then...
@@Eleziumyou mean when he took Sunderland from battling relegation in the championship to winning it? He had loads of injuries at Ipswich too
Would have happened at Liverpool? So what! What kind of benchmark is that, the 1 league title in 30 odd years club.
@@Gruff86990 I wasn't talking about his success or failures as a manager, it was a direct response to someone saying they believe the only club he would manage is United, when he's already managed 2 other clubs, 1 of which he resigned from and the other sacked from.
In another timeline Roy Keane took over as Manager from Sir Alex and brought home 21, 22, 23 and 24, focusing on the champs league of which he’s won 2, i know pie in the sky but no one will ever tell me Roy wasn’t the perfect candidate to carry on the torch!
He's one of my heroes but he isn't good anuf to be manager look what happened him at Sunderland 😅
@@paulleech6797you mean like taking them over in the championship relegation and getting them promoted to the Premier League the same season?
Great players don't necessarily mean great managers. So many of the qualities that made Ferguson such a top manager are just not in Keane's makeup.
Great content lads. Excellent questions and well done for letting Gill speak……vs talking over the top of your guests, which you do see more and more in these types of chats.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is just brilliant guys!... Thank you
Who did the editing? Anton?
Gill and SAF were the greatest management team in football history
The Nani red card against Real Madrid was a tragedy. We were well in control but the referee over-reacted (Nani's foot was supposed to be too high when a Madrid player was trying to head the ball but Nani didn't know he was there) and that decision turned it round for Madrid. One of the craziest moments.
Red all day long - dangerous play
For coughs and colds! @@gustavbrinkel5489
@@gustavbrinkel5489 dangerous play is not a sending off offence, unless there is intent to injure, which clearly wasn't the case here.
What a great interview this was! Up there with the Vidic & Prince interviews! How awesome would a Sir Alex Ferguson on Vibe with 5 be????? Rio make it happen!!!!
Did he sing Purple Rain?
Who's prince mate 😅
@@paulleech6797 Kevin Prince Boateng lol
@@Wazzu07 what the hell has he got to do with what there talking about on this podcast tho 😂
If it’s true I hope Roy and Ferguson reconcile because there will be no point sharing your respect at either’s funeral. Whatever the case
Need to improve the sound.
All we need now is the boss on the show ❤
That would be elite. Can you imagine Sir Alex being asked by Joel what he thinks of Arsenal 😂😂
@@pgc99 couldn’t believe what I was hearing 🙈😂
splitting this interview into 4 portions is a terrible idea
Most will agree. I’m in that bracket.
But it likely made editing all the cuts from the interview easier. There were likely a few comments made that he wished to cut from the record. So instead of making this look seamless it’s easier to break it up into parts. Just my opinion.
Ya know what Flex … Rewind the video and put it on repeat for the next 2 weeks 😂🤙
Hands down the most insightful interview on the channel so far! Unfortunately, also the one with the worst editing/splitting of episodes.
Sir Alex Ferguson made David Gill look good.
I love how Rio still calls him Mr Gill. Respect 🫡
Alex Ferguson doesn't bare grudges 🤣🤣🤣
Someone's got to get Keane nd fergie together before fergie goes man, yes they fell out but had a million great times
Go easy on the bass boost in the EQ, folks
That Nani sending off and the two finals against Barcelona stopped Manchester United and Ferguson getting 3 more European cups and were cheated out of all 3. Barcelona should not of even been in the finals by it was made to happen. Also if it wasn't for the foreign rule we would of won 2 more in the Cantona, Ince, Bruce,Pallister, Kanchelskis,Early Giggs and early Keane days. That's 5 more
nobody cheated Fergie and United... Sir Alex was tactically inept and got slapped for it, should have been sacked for horrendous back to back final losses... admittedly the season nani got sent off we could have gone far
@@kingsweattv2465
Sacked 😂😂😂😂
Foolish boi
wait what foreign rule are we talking about here, during the Ince Bruce Palli time ?
your sister is a foolish boi@@thatguy7161
@@kingsweattv2465😂😂 sacked. Come on mate. That is harsh. Barcelona were on a different planet. They would have beaten anybody in those finals.
As a partnership they were as good as it got 👍
The fa have always had it in for United, extending Eric's ban, scholes getting a ban for a sending off in preseason friendly, Rooney swearing after scoring then missing the city fa cup semi, cavani tweet.. there's others too.
Great guy is Mr Gill. 💯💯
You and Ferguson did the dirt on Keane
Keane forgets how many times they stood by him
@@barrymckenna8547 how ??
@@user-xx8ot7go2z by sacking him after deliberately injuring a player, by getting him out of jail during the most important period, by getting him a private plane home from the World Cup, by breaking the wage structure just for him….. and not counting the needless red cards
@@user-xx8ot7go2zwell he did give Keane a contract that made him the first premier league player on £40,000 a week, after Keane threatened to leave Utd,
Well if your Utd. Fan you would no that
That insight into dealing with football authorities & not going legal, sounds bad for City
The downfall of Manutd was SAF himself getting into a dispute over the rights of a horse by then majority shareholders which ultimately resulted in the Glazers taking over
"Ferguson never held a grudge" - Jesus wept!
He held grudges for decades. Ask anyone in the Scottish media during his Aberdeen days. Fell out with Archie MacPherson once and has never spoken to him again. SAF's capacity for grievance or perceived slight was insatiable.
Would take him back in a heartbeat 💯
The way David Gill speaks about Fergie and how he was so positive and determined to win is exactly how I pictured Fergie to be and it makes me adore the man even more. An absolute genius. And a privilege to have been alive to witness a part of it
Bring him back to utd respect to Mr.gill
Ferdinand pontificating about Keane, and then gets slammed with the drug test.
Funny how gill is doing these interviews now isn’t it… I also thought it was highly suspect when him and Ferguson (and all the coaching staff) left at the same time in 2013. Wondering if they all got backhanders from Man City owners
This is wrong should have release it at once cant get the interview anymore
I wouldn't want arsenal fans to be any other way. Variety is the spice of life
Rio top player
very good like woodgate the top cb’s were ramos pique puyol
Looks like Jim Davison
Didn’t realise Jim Davidson knew so much about Utd.
There was an example a few hours ago.
Phil Foden celebration was shooting fans with a sniper. No ban so far. Cavani?? BAN!!! Why? Cause he played for man utd
Fergie didn't make a bad decision? Bebe, Tosic, Januzaj, Taibi, Bellion, Obertan, Prunier, Kleberson, Djemba-Djemba, Veron, Manucho, Poborsky, Bosnich, Whitworth, McGibbon, Milne, Fangzhuo, Jordi Cruyff. There's 18 bad decisions Fergie made in signing those players. I rest my case.
Rent free.
And selling stam
17 😂
One question I would have asked is what happened with the Ronaldo money, sold Ronaldo and lost Tevez to City and we signed Valencia, Owen and Obertan when we should have got Robben or someone who wasn’t 2 bob.
This drip drip release of an interview… must be some tactic to get an exaggerated view count….
Must be your first time on CZcams 😂

I read somewhere that the ref against Madrid was paid off. I think thats happened to us a few times against Spanish teams, too many bad decisions. Also, opposition who were obviously doping (mostly Italian teams) re Stick to Football channel this week.
I wonder if Fergie actually asked for Rooney to be sold.... It sounds like David was trying to persuade him not to....
To think MAN UTD allowed both Sir Alex and David Gill to leave the same year was a business disaster , shame on you Board
Everybody knows Rio didn’t take drugs! 😂
Saint Gill, Return and save Manchester United.
He should have stayed on after SAF left. Both of them leaving at the same time destroyed the foundation of the club
Its not just tve belief its transmiting it. Fergie was average tactician and coach but elite motivator
You know
That was the time when the Mun united was one of the best football clubs in the world, they were wining trophies every single season. Mun United, Barcelona, Juventus, R.M and Bayern were dominating the world of football. I forgot Milan.
Ferguson always wanted to be the main man at united. He never wanted Keane or Beckham or any of the great players taking the glory away from Ferguson. Keane was treated disgracefully a servant of the club who brought them gold year in year out. Ferguson wants all the glory from the club united. Without Keane and the great players Ferguson is nothing.
I dont know who told them to do this is very bad idea you guys just make the interview look bad
If beckham didn’t go then we probably might’ve not signed Ronaldo
He said You Know 2,427 time's
Shame no one asked him how a man United chief executive can sit on the Football Association’s board of directors.
Should have bought Southgate into replace Rio, and should have sold Rio for whatever he was up to. Interesting he seemed happy enough to see the back of Keane.
Where was the example setting when arsenal got deducted 2 points and utd 1 for a fight they started
Gill ⚽️ #Legend
Rooney says a lot gill on about Wayne for me is the true legend gave is all mr Wayne Rooney the top red devil with out a doubt 10000 per cent
This should have been a great episode but the ways it’s been published is so messy. No coherence and doesn’t seem in the right order. Come on guys!
That ref Cuneyt Çakir. Hmmmm
‘You know’ he said ‘you know’ about 100+ times you know. I dunno 🤷🏻♂️
Roy would have been a far better successor to Ferguson than Moyes
Mistah Gill 😂
Rio did PEDs and that's the end of it. Lost respect when he didn't admit it
Count the amount of times he says “you know” I stopped counting at 100
Still waiting on the Ronaldinho segment!
Hope keane and fergie make up before it's too late
He shouldn’t have got rid of beckham simple as or stam
This man and alex's behavior was disgraceful towards roy keane.
Keane will mange united one day
Ste, love you dude but don't talk over Mr Gill
So why did he actually not do the drug test ?
Seriously wtf is going on with these videos being all over the place. Just release one video ffs
Ferguson owes Keane an apology...end of.
David gill on rios drug issue...... makes him sound like hes a smackhead 😂😂😂
Why did nobody ask him about the court of public opinion Mason Greenwood has had to go through?
And why didn’t nobody ask him why, He, as a board member alongside the previous owners (Edwards family) approved the deal for the Glazer family to buyout the club with leveraged debt?
Greenwood started the mess himself
So did Cantona, Becks (World Cup 98), Rooney,
Keane continues his pathetic stance rubbing a elderly frail old man's face in it decades after he stepped over the line with his stupid MUTV post match interview slaughtering his teammates. Had to go as he wouldn't have sat out on a suspension, he'd have put in a transfer request. So it's that simple.
It's interesting how Keane ended his Ireland career the same way he ended his Utd career. Going public with internal problems, undermining the manager and thinking he was bigger than the whole setup.
There's always a pattern with Roy....
@@hughjass8430 Interesting and overall pathetic mentality. Listening to him over every episode of The Overlap, he's never praised Ferguson on the achievements, instead puts the praise on great players and openly admits a huge dislike of Mick McCarthy. But he'll heap unending praise to Brian Clough and Jack Charlton as the greatest two managers he's played for, that's fine but he won sod all for Clough and Charlton. If he hated Ferguson that much, he wouldn't have stayed for 12 trophy leden years. He's the only top pro player I've known to have won so much and not attribute part success to the manager??? Even Neville was having a pop at Ferguson the other week saying "there was some games we didn't have any game plan, no tactics, no team talk, no plan B ?? Anybody that's read Ferguson's autobiography or heard his candid interviews knows that's bullsh*t. Ferguson was a master planer of the game. You'd never get and hear not one player from the great Chelsea team under Mourinho"s first time at the Bridge slating him, calling him out and dismissing his worth to the team. Lampard, Cech, Cole, Drogba, Robben, Terry, Carvalho etc would never dismiss and mock Jose the way Keane does towards Ferguson now and all those players were also winners.
@@ops7917 The love in with Jack Charlton in particular is a joke. Keane had no relationship with Charlton. He was a kid who showed up and took his orders. Jack's tactics largely involved the midfield being bypassed and so amounted to Keane chasing shadows for 90 minutes.
It all boils down to personal slights with Roy. McCarthy and Fergie clashed with him personally so there can be no quarter given. It is pathetic alright.
@@hughjass8430 Spot on pal. Just wish there was more fans like you that aren't blinkered by the Roy Keane renaissance of recent years. He's definitely lightened up across the board, but by God does he not half hold a decades old grudge against certain people that are his seniors. No matter all the greatest achievements he deservedly won, he walked out on his countrymen and home nation that saw him as their one genuine world class player that would have got Rep Ireland to the quarter finals in 2002. What an odd mindset to have?
Bull s hitter
Bring Sir Alex to the show . We need him!
