This is helpful! My condo yard has really tall fences and I am really short so can't reach the latch. I'm not allowed to drill a hole completely thorough the fence boards so this will likely work for me. Thanks! I can't see how you fed the key rings through though. Presumably there was a hole in the chain end pieces.

Not everyone has the ability to drill holes through their gates and this is super helpful. I live in a condo and can't drill holes through the fence boards.

You should drill a hole right above the latch and run your chain through the hole. For me it better than the eyebolt.
I considered that, but in this location I didn't think it would look right. It's not centred. But I'm going to do it like that on my pool gate!

Yes, if you can find similar items in copper, aluminum or stainless steel that would be better. These items are cheap and readily available.
