  • In this video i will show you how to install a gate spring and a door closer. Both are perfect additions to your new gate. Adding security and peace of mind that little ones arent going to ecsape out of an accidentally left open gate.
    Its a very simple low cost way to add automatic closing to a garden gate or door.
    I hope that this video helped you in some way, and if it did, please leave a comment for me in the comments section. I love to hear from people who gained value from any of my videos. I always respond to comments, so would be great to hear from you guys ! 👍

    Very Good!! My first 2 attempts to fixing our spring failed!!! The top pin fell out so I needed to find a replacement pin of some sort. I just used a screw. But I could not figure out how to put the tension on the spring until I watched your video! Thanks you!! ;)

    Any idea how I would put spring on if hinge on inside right of gate, gate swings out and I want spring to pull it in?

  • @royfranc
    @royfranc Před 2 lety +2

    Does the spring have to be diagonal please mine was horizontal and despite tension hardly close the gate. great videos thankyou

    • @JamesMontana
      @JamesMontana  Před 2 lety +2

      No it can be horizontal. As long as one side is fitted the the post and one to the gate, itll work. If you have tensioned it the wrong way though it wont work effectively.

      Hi I am having one hell of a job try to get the gate to close. The spring is not broke and I have tensioned it up both ways really well to no avail. I have even bought another spring but still the same. Don't know what I am doing wrong. I followed the leaflet supplied. I have tried everything other than standing on my while fitting it. Any ideas.

    Great video mate….just wondered…is there a gate closer or spring suitable for a metal gate?

    • @JamesMontana
      @JamesMontana  Před 3 lety +1

      Thankyou man. You can use the gate spring. Youll just need to use self tapping screws or drill for bolts.
