Kinda like tf2, goes to show that companies actually need to keep their games alive.

We all wish that
@@PVPCat How can we really and I mean really force the hand of Rockstar. The whole #saverd2online tag got some attention from a hire up but not enough.
@@vicjctanuki7344 we need to do it more so that we do get enough attention
@@Vozars I hope we can, because at this point Im sick of their not being at least a small group of devs adding something for old players and new.

Still the best game out there.
No open world game comes close.
After years still suprised by reality feeling.
This is partially true. Eve Online blows the doors off any open world game ever produced. It’s set in 3D outer space and is huge. It even has its own economy which a board of humans oversees to ensure the game economy is stable and doesn’t crash.
RDR & RDO are definitely at the top though.

I have watched most of your videos, and I still find them very enjoyable.
And this is from someone who is on his 3rd story playthrough, rank around 368 online, and over 1800 hrs in the game.
This game may be ignored by its developers, but it is alive and well in the community.
Thanks, Cat!
Why not? It's a solid game still to this day regardless of how rockstar treats it
I missed playing RDO, I installed it, in the first hour of playing, I started to catch fire out of nowhere, after that, explosions started to follow me and when I thought everything was calm, my horse went crazy and started running out of control in a straight line. I persisted for another hour, then a group of Griefers started chasing me (lvl 20 here). In short, the game hasn't changed on PC. Despite everything, it's a great game, it's a shame Rock doesn't give a damn about it.
Just a suggestion, but you should consider modding the single player (story) game instead of playing RDO. You can add all of the sorts of stuff present in RDO, but without all of the rubbish like timers for missions, griefers and the like. If you'd still prefer to play RDO though, you might like to google "RDO lobby manager", which is a tool that lets you set up a private lobby. It's very easy to set up and use.
Yeah I had done that a few months ago, I had initially played RDO not long after release but didn't get super far as life circumstances got in the way, booted it up roughly a year ago and found the PC version basically unplayable. The most I'd get is a good 20 minute run - not just because griefers but because the programming of the game was a buggy mess.
If you have consoles, I'd STRONGLY recommend the console version. If you have a very good PC the graphics will be a bit worse of course ( my PC aint great so the console graphics are actually better lol ) but you'll get a far more seamless, better running, less griefer-ridden gameplay! And what griefers there ARE are using intended game mechanics ( shooting you with a sniper / bomb ect ) rather than something clearly not intended ( spawning 15 legendary bears on you )
That was happening to me on pc as well. I'd suddenly catch fire standing in my camp and fire would be everywhere. I got to level 18 and decided to move over to console. It's better on console no strange modders suddenly setting you alight. I'm in the hundreds now on the rankings and haven't been bothered that much . I've been griefed quite a few times but its not constant and sometimes i actually enjoy getting them back. Funny enough it seems to be really high rankers that are the biggest griefers on here. 500 and above that are still griefers makes them look like pretty sad individuals imho. Much love to those who are not griefers I've appreciated your waves.
I think Xbox is the best for experiencing RDO
If this happens then just quickly join a new session pause - online - free roam and go
I just got back into Red Dead Online and made a new character a couple of days ago after being bored with gta online. So far im having fun and theres a lot of content thats new to me
I've been watching your videos ever since I got the game on pc which was 2 days ago.
Seeing this video released is a surprise
I just see Red Dead Online as singleplayer DLC we never got, and I enjoy it to play and still have a lot of stuff to do in it.
Thanks for making this vid. I have 300+ hrs on story mode just wandering occasionally and thought about online I may check it out.
Thanks Cat,
I'm back in the game. Thanks to the solo lobby mod, I have peace of mind from aggressive players who ignore my defensive mode and people who explode one.
But now I miss the nice interaction with friendly and helpful players. You can't have everything...
Can you join another lobby with the same character?
@@NRG56 i don't know if i understand the question correctly...
Yes, you only have one character.
If you want to have a solo lobby, search for the following video.

Thanks Cat, appreciate your time. Hope the family is all ok, no matter where ❤
I took a long break from RDO in 2023 and have just got back into it, it’s actually a very fun game to come back to after a while, especially if you have friends to do wacky things with!
I’m new to RDO and love it, I agree with all your points, good video PVP cat! ❤
Red dead redemption one and two are my favorite games of all time! My friends and I played RDO every single day for a long time, slowly all my friends stopped playing due to the fact they got tired of delivering moonshine and trader. We started in the beta days. I still play every day, but all I really do is daily challenges to keep getting gold just in case they happen to start paying attention to this game again. It has so much potential. It’s hard to imagine that they could just leave it alone! But they make so much money off of GTA! And that’s what it’s all about nowadays I guess,GREENBACKS! They should focus more on customer service if you ask me.
Anyways, thank you for your dedication to keeping us informed.
RDO is the only online game I ever enjoyed and I used to play daily but with nothing left to grind for it's been a long time since I have logged in
Good video and I have the full version on RDR 2 with Online and sometimes I play Story and go online. And I never get bored..
I decided to replay the story and it is still amazing. Hadn't played online for lots of years and not planning cause I did every possible thing, nothing new to do in online.
Thank you Cat.
That’s exactly what I always do for pc, I just change lobby every time if I come across modders or griefers.
Very much enjoyable game , your videos helps a lot mate
Love the character on the thumbnail. He's my favorite of yours!
It's crazy because I just picked up the game just now and I love it so much.
I just bought the game on Saturday. I used a few of your videos to grind enough gold to get 15 bars for the the bounty hunter role and the first bounty I accepted I got teleported to Valentine and exploded while I was chasing the guy from the lumber mill in Rhodes with the lasso. Still fun though, great videos
Welcome to RDO on PC……
Thanks for the info and tips Cat 👍🏻🤠
Even though I'm mostly done with the game, I occasionally come back to level up both Naturalist and Bounty Hunter as I still haven't maxed out those. I went from 13 to 18 in last week playing Bounty Hunter and probably I'll get to 30 by end of this month. I'm also trying to atleast reach 4* in all Legendary Bounties, but they have a cooldown which is annoying as I have to do multiple sittings to play those. As for Naturalist, I'll probably reach level 10 tommorow and I'm only doing daily stuff as I don't like the role. I would say that for people who haven't played the game, it's absolutely worth playing. The game isn't getting anymore content, but the content it already has is definitely worth enjoying atleast once.
Thanks for honesty pal.
I would rather play red dead than GTA and red dead online was officially abandoned that says alot 🙏

i’m glad it’s new players coming to read dead but im tired of getting jumped by them thinking they can kill me
i really liked the co-op missions in red dead 1 online. was hoping for more of those in red dead 2 online
I just want to say that, I'm not even a fanboy of this game but I started rdr online 1 week ago with the helps of your 40min rdr online beginner guide and I'm having fun so far! The only problem is that's bugging me is free aim and auto aim. Free aim gives you +20 xp for each kill you get. While this is good, it might be hard to get used to it (at least for me) and you'll probably get killed by most of the players that either free aim veteran or auto aim user. Other than that, it's really good so far
Stay with free aim, it’s extremely beneficial. I found that once I got used to it that using auto aim started being more of a bothersome thing. It would lock onto a target who’s hiding behind cover when there’s another guy standing in the open fully blasting me😅
Free aim is best in free roam for that extra xp. If you decide to play free aim play around with the setting the default setting are not ideal for free aim. For example when looking down scope if you feel to be moving fast hit settings and slow down the movement when looking down scope. Build up slowly to move fast. Small secret tip from a free aim player learn to hip fire the carcano rifle it's deadly doing this at close to medium range. Removing the weapon bloom will help many veteran players turn it off and just have the dot this way you don't wait for the bloom to zone in you just kill why wait right. Good layout is the Evans, Carcano, 2x Navy revolves and a tomahawk. Ability cards all depends in free roam focus fire when snipering or slippery when not peak conditions, iron lung and never without. I use the same weapons always to be consistent. These are just my tips and for free roam playing matched pvp is something different again. Good luck in rdr and with free aim. If you wanted my exact free aim setting I'll share them here if you like.
So can you play with others in free roam?
Thank you for the video
You hit the nail on the head Cat.
I initially got RDR2 on the PS4. I LOVED it! Played story mode and online both. But I have a SPIFFY computer and I really, REALLY wanted to see Red Dead in GLORIOUS 4k and better than 60 fps.
So yeah, I bought a copy on Steam (on sale of course) and I have not regretted it one bit. I do not have ALL the outlaw passes or Halloween stuff on PC as it was years later but I do not feel too put out. I DO have everything on Playstation so if I want my horse mask or copper or gold guns I have that.
NEVER buy gold with real money. Even if you are NOT "efficient" if you do half a dozen daily challenges for awhile you eventually get enough gold to bootstrap to Bounty Hunter/Collector and then Trader/Bounty Hunter depending on personal choice. Once you have Bounty Hunter and Trader and Collector you will never need for money or gold again. Honestly I just have fun some days hunting, fishing and riding my pony. :) God I do love this game world....
Solo lobbies on PC 99% of the time and on Playstation about 80% of the time. Public lobbies on Playstation are not too bad but I just like doing my own things.
Peaceful Skies.
just started online loving it and i’ve been enjoy playing it!❤
Now that I've got a solo lobby i love it jump from gta then rdr2 ( I followed ur tips on trader leveled up from 5 to 9 thanks) 😁😁
Think this game will always appeal to a certain gamer. Like me!!! Played since Beta, took a break Jan 2023, started playing again 2 weeks ago. Hooked again. It’s crazy. Thanks Cat for keeping us from going crazy🤣
Hello Cat, I have 2 cats myself. It's funny watching them play fight. I was a 700 online. Now I have created another account, and I'm enjoying starting over again.
I have had RDR2 on PS4 for nearly 4 years, played the campaign 3 times and I just now decided to try out online for PS Plus. i'll try it out for a bit but I will likely switch over to PC as my ultimate goal is to get into RedM and do some RP'ing.
You're the best! I just had to subscribe!
Hello, thank you for the review!
I am missing one important info for me. How is it working with the servers? You mention it as 1 dedicated server the players are connecting to. But I heard and read about RedM, is it the same thing, or how do these differ 2 differ? I am not a fan of private servers/lobbies where you progress on each of them, I like to have 1 dedicated server, 1 character for everything.
Thank you in advance for the answer!
Just started a couple weeks ago, I have fun with it, and it just happened that I also started when every role has 2x this month so I got a GIANT boost with starting up. Unfortunate that there's no train or bank robbery in a literal wild west gunslinger style game but nevertheless, it's still fun.
Very good content 🙂
I started playing a month and a half ago and its my fav game i’ve played
no way you made a video exactly while im contemplating buying it
Have you tried the story but, turn almost everything off, music, minimap, autoaim, 1st person, most hud information. It makes the game amazing. Online can be played for the most part but minimap on compass. Try it. Amazing. More dialog in story with no minimap.
Started 3 days ago, by watching his vids im lvl 47, bought all roles except naturalist
As a level 258 that comes back to the game every once in awhile. It can be fun to play this game as a downtime sort of activity to grind and make more money. I do wish they added some more things like the M1899 Pistol from the story, and especially as a solo player, more solo missions and activities. It is a shame Rockstar decided to abandon a great game but I can respect that they’re going to spend their time on something that will likely make them more money.
I bought it last week on my playstation to start over as I'm over 100 levels on Xbox and it's nice to start over! I enjoy being a cowboy lol
Hopped on today. The lobbies are full but death matches, no only plays them anymore
got bored after reaching lvl 100 days ago... gonna play TLOU part 1 now, then FF7 Remake, then Elden Ring + DLC with my brother
I used to play on pc, but i sold it and went back to an old trusty console and one of the first things i noticed is that there are no hackers like on pc.
For me the game was a awesome experience with my friends but died all of a sudden one day sorta felt like we did everything, usually i can play a online game few times after doing everything i wanted but this time i got instantly bored but up until then the game was badass
Just started playing RDR2 online two weeks ago, loving it.
I have the game but do I have to download the online version I try going multi player from the game but it doesn’t work
As a rdo player since beta the only thing to save this game and a reason to come back to it, is if they make a ps5/Xbox series version with 60fps and a huge online update.
Emphasis on huge new update
They need more events going on like throw in a zombie event for October or hunting big foot or ANYTHING I haven’t played since blood money but I’d love for something to bring me back
For someone who hasn’t played RDR2, what can you do online? Is it mission? Fishing? Or what?
Started playing last month almost lvl 50 thanks to you dude game is pretty fun only thing is I’m always on my toes I’ll bring in a bounty as soon as I get to the door they shoot me and take them 😂
I even play more now than ever before. The only game i play when my friends are offline. They unfortunately gave up on the game years ago.
Great video. Thanks Cat. 🐱
Have they fixed the crashes where you cant do the Online story or play Pvp modes without a VPN?
The tame may not be dead to new players but it sure is for me; sometimes I come back to see if anything changed.
Last I checked the PC Solo lobby can actually not just be a single player one. Others can join you if they have a passcode IIRC
every body needs to get the community together and have everybody play rd2 just for a while so itll force rockstar to work more on rd.
I just started playing rdr2 online and its really annoying that when you watch help guide or where to find things when the video is 4 years old. But still a good game
Хорошо что наш любимый red cat redemption продолжает свою деятельность на ютубе, хоть и на англоязычном ютубе. Думаю преданная аудитория будет смотреть его и на английском :)
As someone whos been playin since the get go i cant find anything to do all i do is get a weeks worth of dailies, then i realize "wait why am i doing this theres nothing worth the extra gold, or anything to buy really at all
I enjoy rdo despite of the no new content, it's just a nice change to me after playing thousand hours in gtao
It seems like it is because the last 2 nights I’ve been in servers where there’s only like lvl 50+ player besides me (I’m 105 I think). There have been a bunch of under lvl 20 players
I still like playing it on PC but only in solo lobby. With the crappy games out today RDO is still better than most even with little to no new content or support.
I do plan on playing Dragons Dogma 2 when it comes out, its the only game in a long time I have looked forward too.
The main complaint i got about RDO is nothing new to spend all the money and gold I have massed. Some new clothes , horses, guns etc. would be nice.
It's a bit better on pc since January with glitches being fixed and it possible now to report cheaters. For me it's a relaxation game, just going around and doing dailies
Finally starter online a week ago on pc (got the rdr2 in 21) on pc 9/10 secessions are with annoying modders but learned to go solo public session. Should have played sooner imo.(With the solo session though.
I think the game is still worth playing for a new player. I bought the game in August 2023, started Online in September, and I still don't have everything I want. I played daily for 2 months before getting bored. I have all the businesses but they're not all leveled up yet (I have Naturalist and Trader left). Those 2 months were very fun getting most of the necessities
I’m just looking for 1 thing. Why was the first red dead online so much better????
I’ve been playing red dead online on and off for about five years. It is a totally different game now. When I first started the game, it ran incredibly smooth, and everything worked perfectly, like well oiled machine. (Comparing the weapons wheel from day 1 to today, it now takes 3 or 4 attempts to use the wheel for feeding the horse anything, like an apple.) Although rockstar seems to sabotage the game constantly, I still find it to be the ultimate escape. Especially during the winter when it’s more difficult to get out of the house. During Covid, it became almost like a a sanctuary, a safe place to be able to roam and not feel like I was locked up. If I feel like a gunfight, there’s so many missions to choose from. When I just feel like chilling, I can hunt, search for collectibles, or just go fishing and enjoy the incredible scenery and wildlife.
The atmosphere there stuck me to the game for years now. I love the world, riding, hunting and shooting or just fishing 😊- I want to be and live there if I could
PVP Cat do you think they will ever add the outlaw passes back? I've been playing the game since release but I missed some of the passes. Is it possible they add them back?
Oh dear
You must be new here
watching this after getting rdo…
but the reason is I don’t really prefer games with loooonnngggg stories. rdo has some story in it to but u can just play it all by urself without being tied to any stories.
only reason i couldn't get into this game was because I couldn't even complete 1 mission without griefers literally spawn camping death after death. Happened both times I've tried the game. Not sure how that is even fun for them, but to each their own.
Still enjoying your vids CAT & live streams, but don’t log on much these days. I did chortle when you said “100’s of hours playing” cause for me it’s more like 1000’s of hours! Lol
yes over 9 of them for me and i havent played but 2 or 3 hrs since april of 2022..9,058 hrs in rdro
I haven’t played since you had to dismiss your horse to enter the stables without getting stuck. Have there been any game updates besides sales and weekly bonuses?
yeah stables are fixed and also the glitch that caused maggie and marcel not to be in moonshine shack
just tried to play this last night with my friend and its unplayable every lobby we go into theres some kind of hacker ruining it
I grinded the hell out of online on ps4 when it came out now im doing it again on Xbox, Online will never be boring
I started last week and can attest to the fact that this game is certainly not dead in the slightest. The game is fantastic.
Thank you PVP Cat for the guides, they’ve made a lot of the learning journey far easier.
Once you own everything which trust me will be very soon you’ll change your mind
You havent been playing for long so calm down there pal
It's a mystery why this game that has some of the best mechanics in gaming today has been abandoned, hasn't received a real DLC/update in years . Was never given the chance GTA was given with property updates and DLC's to keep players interested and to add new players , the online developers didn't even try innovative and modern ways to make money off the online mode. It was just lazily brushed aside and left in rockstars garage like an old car with an amazing engine . Doesn't make sense to me.
It was however if you're already maxed out everything have all clothing etc then there's not point to keep playing
I played RD2 story mode 5 times, i absolutely love this game
I would still play this, if, the dynamic events popped more (like before they started launching updates). They would pop up everywhere you traveled. Hunting and treasure hunting are so so.
Red dead has a very strong community, I personally love crews and posses. Altough there's a increase of cheaters, and that kinda ruins PvP, no matter how better you are😭
So I got carried away last night and wound up playing all night haha.
Only one cheater encounter in 6 hours on public, no soft crashes. Haven't found what the update broke yet.
It was abandoned by the devs, but the map, the animations, and the now somewhat passable businesses like moonshiner in my opinion make the game playable even as a solo today. And 9/10 players I run into are friendly and usually even willing to help with the occasional missions! It’s a small community but the toxic players all left for GTA 5 a while ago.
Love vid
I agree. I spent 1000 hours and there's nothing fun for me to do besides the cta missions.
started playing again this weekend and as much as it pains me, have started over on console for RDO. will keep story mode on pc.
but starting over sucks online, but as i sit here i just realized i spent all day online and not a single issue, not even a random killing of me while afk. i don't think i've ever gotten through a full weekend day on the pc without even without a hacker messing things up at some point.
the more i think about that, i don't think i actually feel bad starting over now. hmm ... glad i mentioned that, feel much better. lol
getting used to controller is still strange but got better through the day as well.
Every time I used to try to go into town it would crash my game due to modders
The problem is that people have had to grind for too long and as a result people have too much money that if they finally bring things out they can instantly buy it and have loads more money and gold so it gets boring again
That happened from the start, people were getting through new roles and stuff within a week, outlaw passes within a few minutes if you planned for, it’s always been a lose lose for everyone
Im a busy middle aged guy with a family, full time job and working on a degree so its perfect for me as a way to relax at the end of the day.
I still play it. Where else am i going to get a western open world 1800s experience?
I'm having a blast. I'm on PS4/5 and have run into a few booters, but other than that, it's totally worth trying.
Booters?
@mooc17 they are people who can use PC or something to kick you from a server & there are some lagswitchers, which basically means that it makes it almost impossible to kill them.
I used to throw dynamite at people while their fishing 😂 its funny when you see there bodies fly with their backs turned
If you haven’t played it yet and want the experience, I’d say yes.
If you’re a veteran, only if you have an itch for it🤷🏾♂️
The hackers in RDO on PC have become impossible to avoid. I've attempted playing at all different hours over the past 2 weeks with a friend and it's simply not possible to play for any length of time before you're blown up / teleported / trolled until they force crash you. I last played RDO maybe 3 or so years ago and it was once in a while that one would troll you. But now the majority of my time spent is just trying to play without being shit on constantly.
For that reason alone it's simply not only not worth playing, but it's actually not possible to play.
I was one of those who bought RDO and RDR 2 as a package. I played online until lvl 30 and then eventually lost interest due to the cheaters and griefers on pc. Last week I started the story mode and I’m hooked!😂Highly recommend
Story mode is rdr 2 right?

I wish they would convert some of the RDR2 missions into RDO content. They could expand this game greatly with very little effort.
