Well the ruger 1911s slide is bar stock which is good. Their frames are cast , but they are very well done investment casting. I really have never seen ruger 1911 have crack or breaking issues. It’s true that cast frames are more often not as strong as forged. But a cast frame is only as good as the manufacturer casting it. I trust ruger. Their revolver are all cast and are well known for being able to handle some of the hottest loads available. Also a point to mention, is 460 Rowland which is much hotter than 45 super , is an approved host on the list for conversions. Now a cast frame from armscor or Girsan or such I would whole heartedly agree.
10mm is great but required a new pistol to use it. A 45 super conversion can be done to any 45 acp 1911 as well as some other guns while being extremely inexpensive to convert
I wouldn't use a Ruger, they use Cast frames and slides. Forged 1911's only with my Super/SMC loads

@@Conklikov The frame is the issue. Original Colt frames (forged) did crack in the VIS area.

idk, i think 45 super is kind of niche, like in terms of it being surpassed in 10 mm and 460 rowaland . id take 10 mm all day over 45 super

Hand loading will a 45 SMC/Super with 250-260gr LFN or 200gr JHP will exceed the energy of any factory 10mm
