My name is Jess! I had a daughter (Lilia) at age 18 w/ my high school sweetheart. We mutually split up & co-parent to this day. After juggling life as a single mom of 4 for some time, I met Chris, he had 2 sons: Caden and Tommy, who eventually became my step sons. After Chris and I got married, we had our 7th child together, Addelyn. We’re one big, complicated, blended family & every second of our story is on CZcams, you can start from the beginning here: • 8 Weeks Pregnant!

I am same way but I will not have choice of not having eye surgeries with my eye cataracts or I will go blind. I don't even like doing eyedrops in my own eyes. I do wonder if I am subconsciously having fearful reactions from my eye operations for crossed eyes as toddler that I don't consciously remember had been done. Similar to my horror dentist visit where he had never gave me shot to prevent pain before he had drill my tooth because he was talking too much with other people that led to me having heart problem reaction from my fused heart valves on top of serious drilling tooth pain that left serious fear of dentistry for me afterwards. My hubby must be with me as emotional supporter and to make sure that I have someone who makes certainty that I do recieve pain relief shots before anything done to my teeth and to do penicillin before any tooth surgery to prevent heart reaction because of what happened to me previously. I am also leary of my future heart operation to fix my fused heart valves too. I am just fearful of any medical surgeries subconsciously and consciously it seems. 🙂🤔

It wasnt painful sense I had the numbing drops, the only thing that was uncomfortable is when they put the clamp thing on to keep your eyelids open. It was so quick... got it done at 9 in the morning, recovered at my moms and drove home myself later that night. Yes it was scary leading up to it but it all went so well for me that I have zero regrets.

As soon as you posted your results on facebook stories friday the 13th, I immediately looked on google maps to see if there was a Lasik place around my area and sure enough it was one 20 minutes away with good reviews. I made an appt for the 18th for my consultation. They had me sold with the price and payment plan.
I thought it was going to cost alot more. They scheduled me an appt for the next day, the 19th(yesterday). It was an amazing experience! No regrets! I went home and got a notification that you’ve posted this video and told myself, wow, This was meant to be. I have my follow-up appt today.

My LASIK procedure was some of the best money I’ve ever spent! 😂 I had thought about it for 15-ish years, but just kept putting it on the back burner for various reasons. Finally did it a few months ago at the age of 36, and my only regret is not doing it sooner. It’s amazing to wake up and just be able to see without having to do anything special. I always *hated* wearing glasses. I didn’t mind contacts, especially pretty colored ones 😂, but it just created a few extra steps in getting ready and in going to bed every day that were annoying.
I was a little nervous going into the procedure…I mean, we’re talking about lasers reshaping your corneas. LOL. I was given an Ativan pill prior to the procedure, but they were running ahead of schedule that day, and took me back to the procedure room no more than 3 minutes after I took the Ativan, so it definitely didn’t even have a chance to begin kicking in until I was already on the ride home. But, the numbing drops that they use are amazing, and my doctor did a great job of explaining everything he was getting ready to do and what it would look/feel like (not gonna lie, it’s a little trippy 🤣), and he counted down during every step, so I knew how short of a time I was dealing with in each step. I think the entire procedure and eye exam afterward took less than 10 minutes, and even though my vision was blurry, I could already tell an immediate improvement. My eyes started feeling achy/scratchy on the way home, but I just took some Tylenol and Benadryl when I got home and took a nap. Woke up 2-ish hours later, and the eye discomfort was almost completely gone, and my vision was basically perfect. 😮🙌 Just had to deal with the typical issue when looking directly at lights for a few weeks, where it looks like there’s a slightly hazy halo effect. It wasn’t bothersome at all, just took a little getting used to. Have slightly better than 20/20 vision now, and actually see much better driving at night now than I could with contacts.
For anyone considering it, just do your research on the surgeon and surgical center you’re considering. My optometrist warned against some of the big “chain” LASIK centers, as he’s had several patients with complications from those. He recommended a local surgeon at a local eye surgery center - researched the surgeon and center, and they had lots of certifications, and had great ratings/reviews across all sources I could find.

My prescription is/has been -3.75 for a couple years. It has changed progressively worse over the last 2 decades lol, so that's a big reason why I go to the eye doctor annually as well. HOPING that it stays that way so I can get lasik in the next year or two! I had to get special glasses to correct that my eyes don't line up perfectly when reading/focusing on things / they work harder than necessary. They have these little prisms in them to correct it, and it's made a world of difference for my daily headaches from eye strain. I'm hoping that issue won't matter when getting lasik done though. I'm literally not scared of anything BUT the fact that I'm awake during the surgery / have my eyes open. It was relieving to hear how it went for you. I hope Its just up and up from here! Woo! So happy for you!

Lasik is indeed a life changing surgery for the better or the worse, given everything comes out good then your vision is improved thus improving your quality of life; whereas if things go wrong (edited cause not everything has to go wrong for it to screw your life) your life takes a turn for the worse and the odds are pretty big on this one, so , I hope you were 100% conscious about this when taking this step and I'm really glad you did not encounter any complications whatsoever. Please anyone seeking to have this should 100% investigate A LOT on the subject and proceed with knowledge and caution.

You're brave woman, I could never do that surgery... Feeling every second of the procedure, nope. But then again, I "reschedule" on dental appointments because my gag reflex tells me to :S

One thing worth mentioning is that in order to qualify for lasik is that your vision has to stay constant for a few years. This means that if your eyes are -1.5 then they have to stay at -1.5 for at least two years in a row. That is an important factor. So that you don’t have to undergo this procedure multiple times! Healthcare professional here! Best of luck in recovery!

Yup, my mom said 6 & 12 has followed me since birth. I was born on 6/12/95 @ 6:12pm and weighed 6lbs 12oz at birth. Also on my first birthday 6/12/96 we had the Olympic torch run past my little birthday party.

My husband has had two eye surgeries(in the same eye). One was a cornea transplant, which he was only under anesthesia for them to put the nerve blockers in then was awake for the rest of the surgery. However he woke up early and even though he couldn't feel them put the last nerve blocker in he had to watch it go in.

I had this 3months ago and I loved it I had results when I walked out the door, on the way home an hour away. The best life changing surgery I have ever had and I have had a bunch of surgeries. The Surgery was very uncomfortable it was pressure, they told me everything they was doing as well. I felt like when I took my loopy medicine I looked at the wall then the door opened so I have no idea if I passed out or what. lol, like I said if anyone can't afford it, I waited until I got my income tax booked and paid the day it hit my account. Next year when Income tax comes around, I can claim this on my taxes since I paid full price up front no payment plans. She said I will get back a ton of money so you get it back within a year so it pays off.

Highly considering but just like you, I’m hesitant even though my husband done it years ago. We are located by Modesto and I’m thinking to check the place you got your lasik even though it’s a drive. My vision has been -3.00 both eyes for about 20 years now and I’m a really good candidate for it

I got lasik in September 2020. My Xanax meds didn't kick in because I was really anxious during it. But the worst part was the pressure from when they push on your eyes to cut the flap. Glad it went smoothly!

This shows how different all places are or do things when you do the exact same thing. I got my eye surgery two years ago almost three and the first thing Jessica was wearing with the tape I didn’t have to wear them and the goggles that she was wearing to the kids celebration I only had to wear them at night but yes the sun was annoying it was a burning cessation
