Another important note: all the engi weaponmasters are melee. Given how common ranged block / reflect is? You kinda need to have a melee option these days.

I hope the engi shortbow looks like a cool repeating crossbow or something. Just seems weird theme-wise to go back from guns and tech to bow and arrow

I hope the engi short bow doesn’t work like the grenade and mortar kit. Thematically similar but I’m hoping it’s more similar to thief shortbow but has some damage. Maybe elixir infused arrows or something

Weapon Master is the biggest upgrade to Core Engie in the history of this game.
Hammer alone makes Core Engie way better.

I am here to tell you that Core engie is boss. It is the only engie spec that can Moa a group of people and remove 14 condis from your group when combined with Antitoxin Relic. Don't hate on Core Engie, mmmmkay? :P

Yeah sword def just the PVE option now. U can maintain perma quickness with some boon duration and hitting ur 3rd auto for cd reduction but yeah, def not a viable strat for competitive modes

Shooting out poison, fire, and bleeds on a shortbow would sound like fun BUT pistol already does that, and dual pistols add glue traps and electrical damage. Shortbow on engineer is pointless.

Not every class are viable as core specs. The ones that are, are Revenant, Necro, Guardian, Ele.. maaaaybe Thief. Bit of a stretch but maybe.

The thing that gets me about Holosmith sword, more than anything, is the animation on the third attack. It looks goofy, if not outright stupid, on every race. The human has that dumb double-bounce windup for no reason, asura have that wrist-roll -- it just looks as trash as it is.

Gotta say it, for both holo and mech your saying how "barrier on hammer is great for melee" but there is no barrier on hammer, the barrier is from scrapper.

@@spudzie9117 ok yeah there is a little barrier, I hadnt noticed that but hardly enough to matter since it needs you to hit with your block to generate a small ammount on a somewhat long cd.

The barrier is nice. When paired with holosmith's corona burst barrier trait, thats even more on top with the block. @@Sanodar
