FAVORITE CHARACTER FROM THE SHOW? 🤔
2 of them hahahahahahahahaha
Uncle Fester I like when he lit the bulb in his mouth Plus it funny he was a child star with Charlie Chaplin
The Munsters debuted around the same time The Addams Family did, the public quickly got burned out on monster sitcoms so they canceled it. Not that the video said what happened even though the title implies they will explain it.
Yet another video that the content doesn’t reflect the title and why people clicked on the video to begin with.
Morticia
Gomez
So we, the collective audience, all know you never told us what happened to end the show. Ah the old click bait routine. You actually do that a lot. You have yourself a good day.
Thank you for your sacrifice! Time saved and appreciated
@@davidsr9719 Same here! Always check for the clickbait! Except for the "Daily Dose'..
Thanks for saving my time bro
Thanks for the heads up. You Rock, clickbait sux.
Legend says colorization was one factor among other shows. but its obvious that the picture was intended on the thumbnail to be suggestive with Morticia's tits photo shopped and Gomez put so close as if oggling her. But from some nitwit who drones like a zombie through his narrative, what might you expect.
This was a wholesome show 2 parents that love each other and care for their children. My favorite scene with Lurch is when he carrying both kids one in each arm, you could see he was actually a gentle person.
It's kinda sad to look back and see that the Adams Family was more normal, wholesome and sane than many real families in 2021.
Wholesomeness is lost to many. UNFORTUNATELY!!!
Ha!
True. They are as BDSM as you can be and still more loving, caring and respectful than most people I know.
@@thomaskositzki9424 BDSM? Do you mean Satanic?
@@WinstonNewYork Satanic?!?!? NO! BDSM as in Bondage/Discipline/Sadism/Masochism as a form of erotic play. Got nothing to do with religion.
Don't you have Google?
The reason why I love The Addams Family is because they were originals, they were being themselves. The Addams Family taught me that it's 💯% OK to be different. I'd rather hang out with them than people who were considered "normal".

I had the distinct pleasure of working with John Astin in the early 90s. One of the kindest souls I've ever met and one devilish bridge player!
My favorite was Gomez, how enthusiastic and sunny that he was, with a great sense of humor. His love for Morticia was also inspiring and heart-warming.
I totally agree with you, that’s exactly the reason why I adored this show.
I was in love with Morticia. She was like an Angel in all her acting, and the way she moved was elegant
OMG! {{{ADDAMS FAMILY}}} How could you not love this awesomely wacky series?!? John Aston was a genius. Just that goofy, maniacal smile and stare won me over. The entire cast compliment each other and stand out. But Gomez was always my favorite.
AND I was a fan of the comic strip for many years !!
One of the very best TV series of the 1960s ,still just as watchable and entertaining as when it was made.
I LOVED the Addams Family!
I always thought "Gomez Adams" was the greatest name, and John Astin was fantastic in the part. I think everyone did a great job on this show - so a big thanks to cast and crew/writer for adding a half hour of joy to my childhood. Another home run for this channel as well.
John Astin had a recurring part in later episodes of "Night Court" I can't see those without thinking of The Addams Family
@@John-bz2rp He'll always be Gomez to me - and I'd love to see those Night Court episodes now (that was a great little show too).
John Astin also played the riddler on Batman after the original one died from cancer.
@@gskchicago Frank Gorshin lived until 2005. Astin appeared as the Riddler because Frank wasn't available for those two episodes.
@@JohnHolton Oh. I thought he took the part after Gorshin's death.
So, then, what happened that made the Addams Family officially end, because you didn't address it in the video.

When I was a kid, Lurch was my favorite character. But now, watching it as an adult has given me a great appreciation for all the actors. I love them all!
During the height of the show's popularity, I was about 8 or 9 yrs old and Ted Cassidy came to my hometown for a personal appearance- that's right, I got to meet LURCH in person!!! When he shook my hand I remember my little hand just disappeared in his, it was so awesome and he gave me an autographed picture of him as Lurch. What a memory.
My FAVORITE member was OF COURSE Morticia played by the lovely Carolyn Jones ❤️❤️
I knew Kenny Weatherwax. He told me he grew up with the beloved dog Lassie and his dad trained the dogs.He didn't make much money but loved doing the show.Later on he did a stint in the USArmy and got teased alot being called Pugsly and grew to resent it.He was a real nice person.I took him out on my boat fishing from marina del ray.It was a lot of fun.He used to use the frais Hey buddy when getting your att.Last time I saw him was at his grandmothers house in Tuluca lake.Last I heard he was living in Canyon country when he passed.Ill see you again buddy.
So John Astin is the last survivor then!#?
The Adams Family and The Munsters were on back to back when I was a kid. Good times!
I loved the way he always grabbed the hat from the visitors!
Addams
I don't think they were back to back. Trying to remember. Two different production companies, though they were close together on the air. The Munsters never really interested me. They were too normal. As I read somewhere, the Munsters were really a regular family that just looked weird, but the Addams family was out and out honestly creepy.
Keith Garland. So "Good Times" came on after which of these shows.?,
He'll yeah home work can wait...
The best Carolyn Jones hands down I've always had a serious crush on her... And lurch by far is the best Butler ever

For some reason my brain processed Caroylon Jones as Jackie Coogan.

John Astin was the perfect candidate for that role! 😄
Why candidate? He was Gomez.
Carolyn Jones was the perfect Morticia Addams and will forever be my favorite member of the Addams family.
I find it sad that all the actors from these old classics, are always cheated out of the money that is owed to them. They are the face , and they should be paid.
Yes. Jim Backus got totally screwed by Gilligans Island, and I hear Buddy Ebsen hogged all the Beverly Hillbillies profits.
I Loved "The Addams Family"
All of them 😁♥️
this level of quality tv will never be matched, and that's nice
I loved the fact that Morticia's mother, Granny Frump was played by Margaret Hamilton the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz. Perfect casting!
Wow. Never paid attention to that but remember her on the coffee commercials
I always had a crush on Morticia, loved the way she walked.
Especially when she spoke french
yup long black hair and in a form fitting long dress
She walked like a geisha.
Mortica was gorgeous looking;;however she had on a truckload of make-up ;, very tight fitting dress::; morticia was gorgeous looking woman
i have often wondered if peggy bundy copied her walk
This was always one of my favorite shows. Still is. I loved every character
What about Grand mama.? Blossom Rock she had some great line in the series.. especially the ones in the time Gomez and Morticia go on their second honeymoon oh, where they hired the lady to look after the children while they're away a great episode
Those were the good ol' days. Loved that show.
Addams family-good! How about you check out Lost in Space?...mark
I admit I had a bit of a crush on Gomez. It was so romantic the way he kissed Morticia's arm and called her Tish.
Tish is not a romantic name; it's just short for Morticia. But he also called her by the romantic name Cara Mia (Italian for "my dear one").
@@bradleybobbs I heard it as Querida, "Dear One" in Spanish, a degree less passionate than mi amor, "my love". Whichever it was, Gomez became amorous when Morticia spoke French.
@@maxpenn6374 Yes, he used that one too, sometimes.
It's funny that he used Spanish or Italian terms, but never French, I think?
And I fixed my mistranslation to one more similar to Querida.
Gomez taught me the importance of being a romantic. Funny thing, After all of these years my wife still hasn't caught on.
My favorite line, from Morticia: Gomez, don't torture yourself!...that's my job!
...i will even play the jealous wife To give a touch of realism // One of my favorites !
I'm pretty sure that line is just from the movie.
I always looked forward to seeing Cousin It!..
That little smile Morticia has in the opening melted me even as a child.
Pure genius on her part. One might call it a "sinister smile".

I watched them all in the 60’s when TV shows rocked.
Lately i have watched the 60s serie of The Addams Family. My favorite is Morticia played by Carolyn Jones, very beautiful actress who fitted perfectly in the character. By the talent and exotic beauty🙂
Some people like the Munsters but I was the Addams Family all the way.
I watched both the Addams family and the Munsters when I was a young man. I liked both but as an adult I could relate to the Addams family better. Now I'm an old fart and still prefer the Addams family.
I loved the Addams Family when I was a kid, and my parents would sit down and watch it with me. In fact, I was Mortisha for Halloween one year. My fav character was Cousin It, but I loved them all. My mother would always point out how polite they all were to each other, and would make sure that we continued the polite mannerisms in our own home.
Morticia Addams is my girl! Devoted to her family, good wife and mother, but with a gothic edge!
Morticia Addams is my girl! Devoted to her family, good wife and mother, but with a gothic edge!
Morticia still pulls my heart strings. Boyhood crush.
Morticia was and will always be my favorite character, portrayed by Carolyn Jones of course.
She went too soon
A beautiful woman's idea of a beautiful woman
What made this show funny was when normal people came to their home. Something the movies didn't do enough of.
Favorite: Lurch with his deep bass voice.

Wow 91 years years old and is he still smoking and not get cancer if it is a miracle. What is the reason for that.. many more years John
I love them all! Morticia, Grand Mama, uncle Fester and of course, Cleopatra the plant. I love kitty too.
When I listen to the Allman Brother's 'Melissa' I always hear 'Morticia." 💖💖💖
Morticia Adams became my favorite character when I watched the show in reruns in my teen years (1970s). In first run, as a child, my favorite was ... Uncle Fester!
Uncle Fester rode a motorcycle in the house and loved to smash his head with a vice when he was not shooting off Blasting Caps - what was not to like about Fester : he was the most Macho guy on the show.
I liked Morticia. John Astin was able to really convey his adoration for Morticia. He seemed to be totally in love with her! SO romantic👌🏻.
Cher was considered for the movie in the 90s. In 1964, when the tv show went into production, Cher was an unknown 18-year-old. I Got You Babe didn't arrive until 1965.
Both this guy and FactsVerse get a lot of things wrong. Just roll with it.
"Addams Family Officially Ended After This Happened" After what happened??? thumbs down.
One of my favorite shows even today. I watch it whenever I can I've seen every episode hundreds of times and can't get enough of it. it's a wholesome TV show
I love the way that Gomez and Morticia had the sadist sub/masochist domme switch thing going on in a time when the vanilla couples couldn't even share a bed!
Well, there IS a scene in the first movie where Morticia is bound and a suggestion is made that the couple enjoys such play.
@@feliciapate7926 There are several scenes in the movies where this is heavily hinted at.
Morticia: "Don't torture yourself, Gomez. That's my job..."
Also Morticia: "Last night you were unhinged, Gomez, howling like a mad demon. You frightend me... (smiles seductively) Do it again."
The wonderful thing about that: they are never toxic in their relationship. Instead they are always loving, passionate and caring.
Gomez: "Look at her... I would kill for her... I would die for her. Either way, what a bliss."
To me, they are the most beautiful couple in cinema history. ;)
Outside of Christopher Plummer, who is a real person, John Astin's character Gomez is just the coolest guy of all time. I would have loved to have been Gomez. "Tish! You're speaking French again! Ai carumba!" My definition of a legend, forever untouchable ❤️
I think Gomez said "Querida" not "caramba".
I sincerely hope that Gomez can find it in his heart to forgive me for mixing him up with Bart Simpson. The shame .....

While the Addams Family TV series is one of the most fondly remembered-and frequently run-shows of the 1960s, it didn't run for all that long. Debuting in 1964 and cancelled just two years later, only 64 episodes of The Addams Family were produced. Nor was it a massive hit, ranking in the top 30 in its first season, and falling out of that upper echelon the next year.
The show's most obvious competitor was The Munsters, which looked a lot like The Addams Family in that it concerned a misunderstood family who lived in a spooky house. Both shows even premiered in the same week in September 1964. The big differences were that the Addams clan was based on well-known comic characters and were essentially human; those Munsters were made just for TV and based on old horror movie monsters. The Munsters drew slightly more viewers than The Addams Family throughout the two-season standoff, and both would be canceled for the same reason - the campy, comical Batman, became the new weird, must-watch TV show. "Batman had come on opposite The Munsters, and a lot of the programming people thought of Addams and Munsters as the same kind of show," John Astin (Gomez Addams) told the Television Academy Foundation, "and they thought [Batman] would" kill off the horror sitcoms - whose ratings had taken a steep decline - entirely if left on the air for a third season.

Lurch was my favorite actor of the show, still catch it today every afternoon
I was disappointed when the remake used a severed hand for Thing. I think he was intended more as a grotesque creature banished to a system of tunnels through the house occupied only by Thing, and inaccessible to humans, but still part of the family. I still prefer to remember him, as well as his role, this way. I absolutely loved this show! The 60’s were a wonderful time for memories of television!
Lurch was my fave, and I always did my best to do that 4 octaves below middle C: "you rang..." but with little success! :0) How about Wanted Dead or Alive or Rawhide?

But my mom liked the show but she couldn't get into the Addam's Family. Talk about differences in show watching.
