The Align Array laser and inclinometer system has been around for a number of years now, and maybe you've already used one. Recently, though, Rat Sound & SoundTool purchased the whole company to be brought in-house for further development. They've got some challenges ahead to bring it in line with their usual standards, but I have no doubt they'll manage to do that in short order, and look forward to watching the development.

This will be a great addition to the Sound Tools lineup. Dave makes such useful inventions!

Used/owned KSG, LAP-TEQ, AlignArray, and both generations of the SSE Prosight. KSG and LAP-TEQ are the most robust and have the most options, and are not that much more expensive in comparison to the AlignArray. The elevation sensor for the LAP-TEQ is very nice to have, and interconnect between it and the laser is a simple XLR cable.

Hey. Been ages. Happy the algorithm brought you back. I just got a Klein inclinometer and going to test it out Sunday at 6am. Would love the pouches, in Canada though ‘unfortunately’. Will hit you up soon for a WIYK video.

Worth noting that if you set a custom ip to network the inclinometer, then you can’t use the reader since it only scans for the default ip, also imo it being built out of metal is nice, anything rigging related has the potential to take a bit of a beating so I’m not sure plastic would be the move

Is that right? I’m sure I changed the ip on the one I have and the reader still works. Maybe I changed it back though, I’ll have another look at that tomorrow, thanks! I was thinking like rigging motor controllers (pickles) which are plastic or nylon and get beat to shit and still do okay. I like the metal too, but I’d also like to save money 😭

@@DcSoundOp as far as I know if you change the ip you gave to factory reset it to the stock ip for the reader to work (edit, connecting the reader will auto reset the up according to the align array product page, which is better but could be annoying)
