Well said! I'd like to add video time to this as well: 20+ minutes for a CZcams video is dumb, if I wanted to sit down and watch something for that long I'd watch a show. I appreciate it when CZcamsrs respect my time and just get to the point and get it over with. 8-15, maybe 20 minutes is a perfect amount of time to get your content out and not lose views.

But he is alienating viewers because they do stuff none of their viewers could ever hope to do or build. They are so far out beyond what is relatable to the viewers. Plus eventually you run out of car ideas. That’s why he’s doing boats and helicopters. As far as his empire goes, there is solid evidence that his track is on borrowed time. In 5 or 10 years his track will be gone. The county is constantly siding with that housing developer. Plus CZcams doesn’t pay like it used to. I highly question his income and the overhead he has. He has to have money coming from somewhere else that he ain’t talking about. He spend at least a couple of million to buy the track and restore it to event use status. And continues to spend truck loads of money on the track. And that’s Besides the money he spends on project cars and all of the money he spends on events across the country. Almost no CZcamsr makes that kind of money without being owned by a major corporation or the CZcamsr was/is wealthy to start with and has some serious investments that are going very well. Angry video game nerd didn’t make that kind of money and he for the longest time was considered the highest paid CZcamsr (not sure where he ranks today).

I've stuck with a platform (Miata) that had its golden age on YT in ~2014-2017 and has been slowly tapering off especially now that nearly all of the big channels ran through their Miata builds and have moved into other platforms. I know my channel can only grow so big while my potential audience is small, but at the end of the day I just enjoy building Miatas, not stressing over building the most popular car of the year to gain views. I’m not convinced Donut needs as much staff today as it employs. YT only brings in so much revenue and you can’t have investors and middle managers sucking out hundreds of thousands AND paying hosts/writers/gofers enough to live in LA. • @streetfightinmanrs
      @streetfightinmanrs Před 6 dny +12

Blaming capitalism is a smooth brain take. Every CZcamsr is an entrepreneur who is trying to break out into a wide market and generate Adsense revenue. This is why they beg us with, “like, comment, subscribe” in nearly every video or hit us with the, “or support us on patreon”.
Corporate entities creating, backing, or purchasing a channel and putting out content that is professionally written, edited, and sponsored is going after the same audience. None of those people have to watch the corporate produced content, when there are much more entertaining home-grown channels out there that have fun with car builds without the massive bankrolls (Tom’s Refurb, Dead Dodge Garage, Pole Barn Garage, etc.). That is the beauty of CZcams as a free-market, the individual who is watching the videos chooses how to spend their time.
If you think the corporate sponsored channels are ruining automotive innovation on CZcams, that is a skill issue on your part with the search bar.

    • @garythecyclingnerd6219
      @garythecyclingnerd6219 Před 6 dny

@@streetfightinmanrs Corporatism is ruining innovation and good products. This is true is almost every sector and plainly obvious. Donut was bought by a some investors who have a dozen bozos with an MBA, adding zero value, and essentially surrendering the channel to algorithmic capture.
The search bar argument is rather weak because, as any YT channel operators will tell you, 50%-99% of their views come from non-subscribers because people search the homepage, not their sub box.
It’s so cringe to goon over the “free market” when we are in anything but. However, donut committing sudoku via investors chasing safe ROI sucks, and it’s a problem with our shareholder centered system.
I used capitalism as a short hand because American capitalism is in rapid decay, as is the nation as a whole. This country frankly sucks, SCOTUS just legalized corruption, and it will continue to get worse.

      Ideas in Fascism:
The union between businesses and the State, with the state telling the business what to do, with nominally private ownership. Corporatism in Italy,
Step 2 of the "Four steps for Ideological Subversion".
Destabilization - the purpose of this step is to change the status quo, particularly the country's economy, foreign relations, and defense systems. *The intent is to create a massive government permeating society and becoming intrusive in the lives of its citizens.* This can take from two to five years to perform, again with the active support of academia pushing youth in this direction. Here, entitlements and benefits are promised to the populace to encourage their support. Basically, they are bribing the people to accept their programs.
While We Were PANICKING, the Government Did THIS... | reallygraceful - CZcams
This video is about the bipartisan EARN IT bill, introduced by senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal. The EARN IT bill had its first hearing on March 12, 2020 and aims to allow the government to scan any and all messages online, eventually eliminating end-to-end encryption and the expectation of privacy altogether.
.The EARN It Bill was passed in January, 2022.
Corporations do what the Government tells them to do. If the Government wants information about its citizens, it uses the corporations to gather that information as needed.
If the Government wants to create division and destabilize society, they use corporations to divide the population and create social instability making it necessary for the Government to intervene, giving themselves more power.
Examples of using corporations to create division:
Bud Light promoting Dylan Mulvaney, creating a backlash from Conservatives.
Planet Fitness allowing men in the women's locker rooms, creating backlash from Conservatives and moderate Liberals.
Disney, Netflix and other entertainment corporations "going woke" (that is, asserting Marxist ideologies), creating backlash from Conservatives and some Liberals.
*“[T]he useful idiots, the leftists* who are idealistically believing in the beauty of the Soviet socialist or Communist or whatever system, when they get disillusioned, they become the worst enemies. That’s why my KGB instructors specifically made the point: never bother with leftists. Forget about these political prostitutes. Aim higher. [...] They serve a purpose only at the stage of destabilization of a nation. *For example, your leftists in the United States: all these professors and all these beautiful civil rights defenders. They are instrumental in the process of the subversion only to destabilize a nation. When their job is completed, they are not needed any more.* ..They will be lined up against the wall and shot.” ~Yuri Bezmenov, 1985
Step 3 of the "Four Steps for Ideological Subversion"
Crisis-This is a major step lasting up to six weeks and involves *a revolutionary change of power.* This is where a cataclysmic event (false flag event, civil war, invasion) upsets and divides the country thereby creating panic among the citizens.
To Americans, symptoms would include *circumventing the Constitution and altering the checks and balances of government* , and possible martial law.
Creation of economic, financial and national security crisis. *Also includes social crisis and a breakdown of previously self-evident restrictions on moral behavior.* (ie: Progressive Liberalism/Marxist ideologies and tolerance of sexual immorality.)
The Cloward-Piven approach is used to create more takers than producers.
The crisis produces benevolent leaders who will promise to deliver things to meet people's needs through “hope and change” through social and economic justice. False illusion that the situation is under control if strategic directions are followed-Bailouts, regulations of industry and so forth. (ie: Hitler’s rise to power amidst a disenfranchised German population reeling from the economic effects of WW1. He also rallied the Germans to fight against the threat of Communism.)
---When a small, vocal minority are given entitlements and privileges the majority of the population are not, that is not "social and economic justice", it's favoritism. In turn, this creates even more division and anger towards "far-left" Liberals and the people they promote (ie: Third/Fourth wave feminists, LGBTQ, Social Justice Activists in line with Marxist ideologies.)
Corporations are helping the Government to track, monitor and record the actions, beliefs, ideologies, buying habits and even sexual preferences of the citizens so they can flag anyone who they determine to be an enemy of the State after the Conservative Revolution.
U.S. and UK Enter Into Landmark Data Access Agreement - Kennedy Sutherland LLP (kslawllp.com)
On October 3, 2022, the Department of Justice (“DOJ”) announced that the Access to Electronic Data for the Purpose of Countering Serious Crime (“Data Access Agreement” or “Agreement”) between the United States of America (U.S.) and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) is now in effect.
Under this landmark Agreement, service providers in the U.S. and the UK will be permitted to respond to a “qualifying, lawful” overseas production order (“OPO”) to transfer electronic data created or maintained by the provider. According to the DOJ, the Agreement will *allow the U.S. and UK to “prevent, detect, investigate, and prosecute serious crime, including terrorism, transnational organized crime, and child exploitation, among others.”*
      Hegelian Dialectic: Problem, Reaction, Solution.
      Create a Liberal Marxist problem.
Have the population react negatively to the problem as anticipated, seeking a leader and laws to reverse course and Make America Great Again.
Offer the solution: A revolutionary change of power whereby Conservatives can "drain the swamp" of Liberals and "Rinos" (Republican in Name Only) undermining the nation.
      Project 2025
The actions of liberal politicians in Washington have created a desperate need and unique opportunity for conservatives to start undoing the damage the Left has wrought and build a better country for all Americans in 2025. (PROBLEM)
It is not enough for conservatives to win elections. *If we are going to rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left, we need both a governing agenda and the right people in place,* ready to carry this agenda out on day one of the next conservative administration. (REACTION)
This is the goal of the 2025 Presidential Transition Project. The project will build on four pillars that will, collectively, pave the way for an effective conservative administration: a policy agenda, personnel, training, and a 180-day playbook.
The project is the effort of a broad coalition of conservative organizations that have come together to ensure a successful administration begins in January 2025. *With the right conservative policy recommendations and properly vetted and trained personnel to implement them, we will take back our government.* (Solution)
The 2025 Presidential Transition Project is being organized by The Heritage Foundation and builds off Heritage’s longstanding “Mandate for Leadership,” which has been highly influential for presidential administrations since the Reagan era. Most recently, the Trump administration relied heavily on Heritage’s “Mandate” for policy guidance, embracing nearly two-thirds of Heritage’s proposals within just one year in office.
So the pendulum swings, now violently, now slowly; and every institution not only carries within it the seeds of its own dissolution, but prepares the way for its most hated rival.
      William Ralph Inge
"Democracy and the Future" The Atlantic Monthly (March 1922)
---The (perceived) current atheistic, Liberal Marxist institution prepares the way for their most hated rivals, Ultra-Orthodox Religious Conservative Fascists to come to power.
What is the “7 Mountains Mandate” (Dominionism/Dominion Theology)? Supposedly there are 7 “mountains” of global society-Arts and Entertainment, Education, Economy, Family, Government and Military, Media and Religion. (Note: The US voting machines are called “Dominion”.) According to this false teaching, by conquering these 7 “mountains”, the Kingdom of God will be established.

      Public Law 102-14
      102d Congress
      Joint Resolution
      Mar. 20. 1991
      [H.J Res 104] To designate March 26. 1991, as “Education Day. U. S. A.”
Whereas *Congress recognizes the historical tradition of ethical values and principles which are the basis of civilized society and upon which our, great Nation was founded;*
Whereas *these ethical values and principles have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization, when they were known as the Seven Noahide Laws;*
      Whereas *without these ethical values and principles the edifice of civilization stands in serious peril of returning to chaos; Whereas society is profoundly concerned with the recent weakening of these principles that has resulted in crises that beleaguer and threaten the fabric of civilized society;* Whereas the justified preoccupation with *these crises* must not let the citizens of this Nation lose sight of their responsibility to transmit these historical ethical values from our distinguished past to the generations of the future;
Whereas the Lubavitch movement has fostered and promoted these ethical values and principles throughout the world; Whereas Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, leader of the Lubavitch movement, is universally respected and revered and his eighty-ninth birthday falls on March 26, 1991: Whereas in tribute to this great spiritual leader, “the rebbe”, this, his ninetieth year will be seen as one of “education and giving”, the year in which we turn to education and charity to *return the world to the moral and ethical values contained in the Seven Noahide Laws:* and Whereas this will be reflected in an international scroll of honor signed by the President of the United States and other heads of state: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatites of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That March 26, 1991, the start of the ninetieth year of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, leader of the worldwide
Lutbavitch movement. is designated as “Education Day. U.S.A.”. The President is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe such day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
A Controlled Opposition is a protest movement that is actually being led by government agents. Nearly all governments in history have employed this technique to trick and subdue their adversaries, notably Vladimir Lenin who said, "The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves."
--Every President since 1991 has affirmed the Noahide Laws, including "Progressive Liberal" Democrats Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Fascism is a civic religion: citizens worship the state through nationalism. The state only supports religious organizations that are nationally/historically tied to that state; e.g., the Iron Guard in Romania supported the Romanian Orthodox church.
---Did you know that Capitol Hill was originally called "New Rome", owned by a man named Francis Pope? And like Rome, Washington, D.C. sits on seven hills.
The United States, like the Roman Empire, has the eagle as its symbol.
The Roman Catholic Church owns more US property than any other entity.
Along with Jews, Roman Catholics dominate the US Supreme Court. Both of these religions also endorse the Noahide Laws, with the Vatican declaring these Laws to be "Incumbent upon all humanity".
All US Presidents Related to this One King? | SELECTED or ELECTED? | reallygraceful (CZcams)
In a post-American revolution society, it would seem like the divine rights of kings would be a distant memory, but is the reality really so? Do certain bloodlines still hold power within our current government system? And if all US presidents are somehow united in blood, does that mean our leaders are really elected by the people? Or does that mean they’re selected by few?
All of the US’s “elected” Presidents have been related to King John of England, descendant of Charlemagne. Only Gerald Ford, who was not “elected” into the Presidency, was not related to King John and Charlemagne. Charlemagne was crowned “Holy Roman Emperor” of the Holy Roman Empire (First Reich) by Pope Leo III. Queen Elizabeth was, and King Charles is, also descended from Charlemagne. Of note, Napoleon Bonaparte and Emperor Wilhelm I (Second Reich) were descended from Charlemagne.
The following is a partial listing of the Noahide Laws as derived from the Babylonian Talmud. *Three of these Laws require the death penalty by guillotine when broken: Blasphemy, Idolatry and Sexual Immorality.*
      Idolatry:
      Must worship God alone.
Must not worship any man (ie: Jesus) as God. (See: John 16:1-3, 2 Peter 2:1-3, Revelation 17:6. The RCC will deny the Deity of Christ and kill any person who worships Jesus as God,)
No idols or statues. Do not bow to idols or statues. Do not offer sacrifices to idols or statues.
      Blasphemy:
      Do not curse God.
Do not use God's name in vain.
Worship the true God alone, do not worship false gods. (Worshiping Jesus is also seen as blasphemy.)
      Murder:
Against murdering anyone, self defense is permitted.
Mass murderers will be given the death penalty. (Abortion is classified as mass murder.)
      Theft--Do not:
      Steal.
      Rob.
Overcharge -Have you noticed how many of today’s large corporations seem to be pushing the “progressive” message about “fairness, PRIDE, tolerance, inclusion, diversity, equity” while also overcharging for their products? And how many of these corporations are known to overwork and underpay their workers, reaping huge profits for themselves as they commit wage theft?
      Kidnap.
Move a landmark. (Probably not good for BLM/Antifa activists who tear down historical landmarks.)
Do not use false weights and measurements
      Do Not Covet
      Sexual Immorality-No:
      Bestiality
      Incest
*Homosexuality* ---Barack Obama affirmed the Noahide Laws while in the Oval Office. The man who gave them the right to marry made it easier for the Government to find them through marriage records and by encouraging them to willingly expose themselves by promising them freedom, entitlements and benefits. Pronouns, Pride flags, and online interactions recorded by the corporations will be used against them.
      Justice Laws-Against:
      --Bribery
-- *Favoritism* ---Intersectional checklists used to hire or promote a person based on gender, sexual orientation and race (and other "oppressed class" criteria) rather than skill and merit will be abolished. Key elements of Fascism: *Actual idealism, centralized government, social Darwinism,* planned economy, anti-democratic, *meritocratic, extreme nationalism,* militarism, racism (Nazism). *Traditional and/or exaggerated gender roles.* One-party system.
      --Condemning the Innocent
      Must-
      *Administer the death penalty*
Treat people equally before the law

Thats classic "selling out" You sell out to get more money but you give up control of your channel to a faceless doesnt give a shit corporation. And the corporation that never built the channel has no idea why the channel worked in the first place. Starts "playing it safe" And destroys the channel. The WORST thing you can do is "sell out" Might as well ball up your channel and chuck it in the bin. Prioritizing short term gains by selling your channel up shit creek without a paddle.

To touch on your point at the end. So many channels that do car builds over extend themselves thinking they need to do 2 and 3 builds at a time. Some smaller channels see Adam and Tj doing multiple builds at a time but missed the days were it was 1 concise build to get to the next. They also miss the part that no matter if it was 1 build or 4 we saw majority of their builds completed. Where the smaller guys now get their audience excited just for them to abandon the build half way through.

The lack of showing the struggle of building cars is so real! Like there is so mich research and study behind making custom parts, be it bumper break duct inserts or metal floor plates, or more complicated stuff. Or just even doing research through the mecanics service guide when electrical issues arise, there is so much depth to these things that doesnt get shown on youtube and its unfortunate because 1: it gives people that get into the hobby myself included a wrong impression of the difficulty of it and 2: it kinda takes away that rewarding feeling when after a bunch of research and test you finally got the result that you wanted

I just started making youtube videos on a 2nd channel featuring my 1974 D100 and its exactly that. I dont have bros to hang out with, but my work does show exactly how it is when you are working on a project usually by yourself. Doing the work isnt always something that can be done in a weekend. As much as I love Roadkill Garage and some of the others, you get a false sense of ease and affordibilty. You dont have a lot of money, or a lot of connections, or consistency. All you have is a build that will attract those who like this vehicle, and those are the real gear heads that will take what you have from your video that maybe a new take on something they know, or its a whole new ballpark for them. For a small channel with a solo creator who plays every role, you have to accept that you cannot win them all over. You have your ideas, and 1 or 2 cameras on a tripod. I think a lot of us crave the realism. I appreciate all that you do David, and all that the other solo and small team guys do.

As a small automotive content creator I want to say thank you for this video. It kind of puts a spotlight on the reality of making car content. It seems as if you are always experimenting with content and I have found myself doing the same. I have always been into cars and have loved documenting my hobby so making videos certainly doesn't feel like a chore to me. But at the same time I can get down when I put hundreds of hours into a series that only gets a couple thousand views. And then a series that I don't put much effort into gets much more! Also the cost of car parts and life really is a downer so I have to experiment as well to continue to bring entertaining content that at least has something to do with cars and hopefully can resonate with viewers. I feel as we are all on hard times. Financially trying to keep our cars alive haha. I even started buying abandoned storage units to flip items to afford my dream car! But then I'm afraid that I'm just kind of mixing up my algorithm. But honestly I've come to terms with it because at the end of The day this is the most honest I can be about my situation in life right now! I hope that comes across. Anyways rant over! I appreciate the video. It was awesome 🙂

Even the moments when I was so attached to my car, that a car accident felt synonymous with losing a loved one. I’ve learned how to remember I’m more important than an object that can be replaced. So to ThatDudeInBlue, Thank you for allowing us to have a window seat to follow your Lessons and Triumphs, but most importantly thank you for allowing us to grow with you. It’s life changing inspiration

One of my favourite car channels back a few years ago was MoreSkids. Watching 2 guys mess about with cars in his parents driveway was refreshing compared to big garages and big money car builds.

I know this can definitely run someone like yourself thin at times or most of the time but honestly that flexibility you have is why I love your channel. I haven’t watched hoonigan in years. Years. They’re unoriginal imo content is just spammed again and again. I love the ability you have to go from this build to that build, give reviews and feedback in videos like this. It’s original and feels like it’s for me versus for a corporate partner so they can be pleased and put in more money.

    Well said, David.
I have been thinking of producing content again on YT but I often talk myself out of it for the wrong reasons I feel, and I cant seem to get past that point.
Watching big productions often stopped me from trying, and every time I feel that happening, I feel I need to work on changing that perspective. It can get depressing.
I would just be filming inside my home garage working on my projects.
I think I forget that that is enough to make something interesting and hopefully other find it worth their time watching the progress to completion.
The thing I try to tell myself to give it a shot again is to make sure I am having fun and not defeating myself thinking Im competing on YT with people who dont even know who I am ie. the bigger channels. I just need to trust in what I can create and make it happen. Mistakes and all. Unscripted, but edited well enough to watch. This is off the top of my head just after watching this video. Im open to feedback on this.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hey David, I've enjoyed your content for years. keep the cars relatable. We like when you are driving something most of us can afford. MCM had to come to this realization recently.
To clarify- the car itself should be obtainable. not the build. everyone loves seeing a smart car with a busa engine

You're right about people getting numb. My early RWD Beretta videos did ok but now that the videos and the car are much better the views have dropped way off. Been too busy to watch much youtube lately and saw a cleetus video the other day like how the hell do I compete with that?

Hoonigan used to feel like friends that hung out all day at work and had fun. It just died off when they lost that feeling. You don’t see random drifting in the parking lot or them working on their own cars. Thrtl with Mickey, Rickey and the rest seem like homies working on their cars. It still is fun to watch.

I really like this explanation. I think a lot of people are hoping for a big bombshell or some sort of drama, but it is just business. The bigger the team, the more "sure things" you need. Once guys in suits see option a always makes money it would be against their fiduciary duty to their share holders not always go with option a.

🙋🏽‍♂️ hi there small CZcamsr here and I wanted to thank you so much for doing this video because it resonates deeply with me and my situation and my experience with CZcams often times of viewers not by any fault of their own. See a little bit through rose tinted glasses when they watch their favorite CZcamsr build a car. they don’t fully realize just how much goes into it and how expensive he can’t get. If I had a dollar for every time, one of my fans that I ended up meeting in public, thought that I made a lot of money making CZcams videos I would have a lot more money than the money I actually made for making CZcams videos. Would love to pick your brain a little more sometime in the future. Keep doing what you do. I’m a fan.

The most common winning formula for a long lasting CZcams channel I have seen on this platform is always the humble 1 man or small group setup. If your most marketable trait as a creator is yourself instead of what your videos are about, there will always be a dedicated audience for any video you make, regardless of the video topic. As you said, certain videos will perform better than others. But as long as you sustain a viewer base of people who watch for you, and not just the cars, there is consistency. Those are the viewers who watch your experimental videos. In an online world of grifters and cheats, sincerity and level-headedness is your greatest asset. Keep doing you David and I guarantee that dedicated viewer base will continue to nurture and grow.

It’s so hard to impress and capture new car viewers, I’m trying to make a slow switch from off-road content to automotive & some offroad but just nervous, but I feel like I have “new” ideas, imo it’s about the right combo of Person + fun + content = success. As a videographer by day it hurts to put out “subpar” video quality but see channels using iPhone (WD & Cleet) get such good crazy views, but their budget for crazy content is nuts.

It comes to relatability. That’s why your reviews did so well early on. Because we all could see ourselves in a Honda hatch. Or a boosted 2v. You are/were relatable.
