It is all in the video but:
1. Ground yourself properly. As a minimum, to some metal part of house structure, like radiator )touch it after you sot down). Do not wear artificial fibres or sit on plastic covered chair.
Preferably, invest $30 in a proper kit of mat, wrist strap and earthing cable that goes to house ground (via mains plug ground pin).
2. while you are there, clean the laser lens with isopropyl alcohol
3. When you put a mech back together, test its mechanical operation. Run the motor pulley with your finger and see if the tray advances and the CD is clamped.Then work it the other way to see the unload. In this unit there is no access to motor or gears when reassembled, so I put 3V from external PSU on pins 2 & 3 of the cable going to motor. You can use 2 x 1.5 batteries in series instead.

Os meus Sony ES necessitavam de um mestre como este senhor para uma revisão completa..... Em especial os meus dois Sony CDP 557 esd ...mas em Portugal, é difícil....
