They didn't have one chance the whole game and where dominated. Germany was robbed of a real penalty a few minutes earlier.

You have to add the fact that Maradona played with an injured ankle since the game against Romania, that Italy's "goal" in the semifinal was "offside" and that a valid argentinian goal against Yugoslavia was disallowed because of a supposedly handball that never was.

well the main difference is that the ref made the unfair call, no one blame the german player for diving, thats ok.

Maradona was one of the top 10 players of all time, but far from being the best one. 1982 World Cup he did nothing, people just remember about him because of his red card. 1986 he was the greatest; 1990 he didn't score a single goal, and they reached the final thanks to Goycochea. Besides that he won 2 Italian championship plus the UEFA Cup, which was the second most important tournment in Europe (after the Champions League). That's all... even the Brazilian Ronaldo had a better career than him.
