- As your city grows, you'll eventually begin unlocking higher-density zones, which develop into tall skyscrapers. When designing an American-style city, building an iconic downtown full of huge skyscrapers is a must.

Please bring back the feature of make buildings historical
💯
That’s not a thing anymore?
Hopefully we’ll see multi-level and elevated metro stations, and elevated and underground railway stations in future patches/DLCs, especially when they’d be really useful in a city centre like this
They should include quite a few things in patches and not DLC before I buy the game. I have played it with Microsoft Pass, but I don't think it is worth the money at the moment.
Modders will make all this too
Hopefully they also make different metro and tram vehicles like in cities 1
Bring back historical buldings! Bulidings keep changing appearance and end up looking the same
I would like multi-level metro stations, sunken ones, more railway stations (including commuter, or small town heavy rail), and an airport layout that makes sense. I feel the game could do with demand rebalancing. I have a 50,000 population city and high-rises are in constant demand atm. It feels unrealistic for me to have such high density at a population that wouldn't make sense for it
Up
And different metro and tram vehicles
Just one honest question:
Will there be animations in community assets like parks and sports fields, as much as services cims animations (firefighters, ambulance and hearse crew) anytime down the life of this game?
Please answer sincerely.
Yes I would love to see this, like at the high school sports field and seeing teams playing each other.
That’s such a basic feature and I’m surprised it’s not already in the game
You could use that exact same sentence for a 100 different things in cs2
I believe they said they would after the game is optimized and they don't have to focus on only bug fixes, etc.
When will the region and asset pack be released?
Realism is getting a game that should have been another year in the oven! That's realism! 😅
The game seriously lacks building variation. When building a small downtown you get the same buildings as they're all level 1. It takes years to get some variation once they start leveling up and till that happens, you're stuck with all the repetition.
Yeah I'm not going to put Highways anywhere near my downtown haha. Other than that, excellent video!
That’s what we do in the US tho
I don’t think that it’s that they put the highway near downtown. I think what happens is downtown tends to grow around the highway because it’s easily accessible.
@@EdzTech7 this is historically not correct for the US. After the second world war the american car industry lobbied heavily for the automobile and car-centric cities, closing down railways nad streetcart lines, lobbying for car centric development and plowing 'freeways' trought densely packed downtown areas destroying historical buildings and (mostly POC and poorer) neghborhoods
@@gergelyapathy5908 BINGO...also the reason for the many downtown parking lots that people in the city actually hate
Well after all the tutorial is very accurate on recreating an American downtown…which despite how bad its like is how one of those work XD
Please, bring the cannals back
You can make them yourself if you like
I don't like
@@wyntoniscringe
for added realism, make sure to build a highway over a developed neighborhood, but not over the well-off cims
I wonder if the buildings have also a car-lift inside! - this city is so car-infested, It would be a logical extension of the highways! >(
So sad that the game feels so soulless. No animations, not details not even for construction sites. We should've known when they showed a pre-rendered trailer....
Very beautiful and inspirational. Thank you for the video!
Beautiful work Tim!!
Where's my boy Imperatur
Here❤️😂
The correct answer was "in the comments section" apparently.
Great video! I loathe car-infested cities in real life, but damn do I ever love building them. I think I might try and build a downtown with your suggestions.
Yeah now my game keeps on crashing for no reason? Could you help?
Hey Colossal Order, I bought the game on Windows but there is a bug no one is talking about and makes the game almost unplayable. I’m talking about a visual bug where whenever I try to place a road, service, or look at info views my screen turns completely yellow and I can only see grid lines.
I can’t even see the terrain when adjusting it! I urge you to look into this issue as I have looked into it and I cannot fix it. Multiple people have this bug and spending $50 on a game where I can’t even see and play the essential part of the game!
🙏🙏🙏
Thank You
Where did you get the Notre Dame type building for the city?
preorder bonus
Don't worry about making videos, just focus on mods/steam worlshop
Thank you! Thank you so much! Useful & soulful. Thank you.
When will the console version be released?
Can we have some, just some features from cs1’s Free Dlcs, like extra selection of transit stations
where are people getting the skyscraper with the wedge shaped top and the cathedral ?
after you make certain areas high density residential or commercial it’s not possible to build further normal residential or commercial buildings. pls make it possible
I wish there would be way more building variances. Beside fixing performance issues 😊
Yeah, there needs to be more variety in buildings and more options for public transit, like smaller stations that don't take up huge areas in your city centre, and there needs to be more signature buildings
When is the console verion going to be available
In about three
I want to play this so bad, when is it coming to Xbox?
After another delay probably next year
I think they said March or May
What map is that?
The best to create realistic downtown are assets :)
I watched him timster content is this what they plan on doing with Quincy Harbor
Lol impressive when you have 5 assets
there are WAY more than 5 assets... Besides, this is just the vanilla game, no DLC except for the San Francisco pack which just gives you a bridge and signature building.
@@SuperMickyChow Still way more than 5, and I'm not talking about growables, I'm taking about ploppables.
add bikes and bike lanes that it would be possible to make it better
As great as these American style cities look, find the European-themed ones a lot less convincing.
When is the game on Console?
nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was with you up until the parking lot section lol. While in the game its pretty inconsequential. Urban city center space is one of the most valueable pieces of land. A parking lot will simply not generate the same value compared to a high density Office, Commerical or Residential. at best you should strive for 0 parking lots. Worst case scenario try to have parking garages/underground parking instead.
This same thing could apply for highways, even an 8 lane road cutting through downtown is better than a highway
Still that is some true, North America style downtown. Parking lots every 2nd road or something
@@void-bot8071depends on the city and the era, tbh. chicago and NYC tend to have fewer open air parking lots
With no parking how are the employees of the High density buildings going to get to work. BAM just poked a huge hole in your reasoning
Ed, IRL skyscrapers can put parking in the basement. It’s sometimes required by cities for this exact reason
Trains? Metro? Trams? Buses? Walking?@@EdzTech7
Around which quarter could Cities skylines 2 be released on ps5 and Xbox series?
As soon as we're able to share more news on console release, we will! The team is hard at work making it happen.
@@satyasyasatyasya5746 shut up
@@CitiesSkylines please ask the team to fix the spec cuz I literally can't run the game. Not everyone have high end spec and ur losing as a business
To be honest I'm gonna cancel my pre-order for this one. I get it that they need more time, but give us a specific release time.
@@CitiesSkylines Thank you for responding to my comment, I wish the whole team good luck!
That would be cool if my cargo trains worked and my postal service buildings.
I would love to see if AI is implemented in cities. Imagine a radio station Ai simulated for your city, mentioning its districts street names etc, even go further by adding a unique accent to the radio host
Two million Brooklynites simultaneously cringed at the suggestion of brownstones in the same neighborhood as skyscrapers…
Otherwise, great tips 👍😅
Build a highway in the middle and done
I wish mixed use zoning would actually grow anything. Most times they just stay vacant
you cant do mixied zoning because the land value of the game destroys all the possibiliti for population to fix in that zones..... when will be fixed the land value issue????
how to download cities skyline mobile on android phone
I really hope you do one with City Planner Plays if you haven't already.
Are our real city centers this gray and repetitive? With the traffic vehicles still full vibrancy, we can't just chock it up to a de-saturated camera setting. Hopefully future updates will fix this and make CS worth looking at.
wait you can make proper quays now????
waiting for a building to appear that you have no idea what it will look like isnt realistic. in real life people choose a plan for the building, this includes alot of planning, designing, the aesthetic is always taken into account. they dont get some company in to build a building and when its built say "ahh i dont like the look of that" and knock it down in hopes of getting a better looking building. this is where the massively popular mod "rico ploppables" should have been implemented into the game. a simple search function where you can choose exactly the asset you want to place down.
i really feel like this was a missed oppurtunity to add some procedurally generated buildings into the game for some real unique buildings where people would have been able to save them as a blueprint and share them with the community. this would enable hundreds of thousands of unique assets to be created effortlessly.
Nice video but the graphic engine , lighting, design of assets and color choices are something only a mother could love
Unfortunately the North American-centric set up of this game makes it really unappealing to me as a European. Our cities dont have parking lots in the city centre, in face its rare for any building type to be surrounded by parking like you get in the US. I feel like rather than just 'European-style buildings' the game needs a complete revamp to represent European cities (which also happens to align with the direction of travel in US cities too, as we better understand the Downtown/suburbia car-centric model is flawed). Its so difficult to build a realistic progressive city in this game. On another note, it would be cool if the game thought about the appropriate height of each building in context, or let you manually control it. There are urban design principles that tell us how much space we need between windows for buildings of various heights- that could be incorporated (even adjustable) so that when choosing what building to put on each plot, the game considers factors like daylight, adjacent plot density etc as well as plot size and demand.
Perfect
I really don't like the American-centric style of the game. Which I find odd since the developer is European
Cities Skylines II PS5 NOW!!!! We want it!!! PLEASEEE!!!
You want an unfinished and terrible game? Does it look good for PC alone?
CONSOLE EDITION???
Make the map more realistic please
Seriously? A universally panned game and you're worried about videos like this?
Any update for console players? 😢
I'd play more, but I can't live with game crashing every 10 minutes.
Realistic if you consider NYC......
Seperating building with various zones to have variations in hight 😮 This is not releasem. Proper urbon planning is setting properties for a zone that dictates the hight and other ristrictions.
I bought CS2 ultimate day 1 and was disappointed like the majority who did. Apart from bad performance, most of the simulation is broken and unrealistic.
Once I see the developer of the game addressing those issues, I will look back at using the software. Currently I have no interest in a city drawing and animation tool.
I am dying to get the cathedral building but can’t find out how to unlock it 😢
Parks and sidewalks look so empty
We want mods.
first
me second, hey
Pau no cu do first
Devs. PLEASE PLEASE remove the spire on notre dame. Itsss kinda hmm how do I say this. Not very accurate? It gives flashbacks.. please remove it
Please Xbox
Thos game is honestly to hard to understand
cities skylines 1 is more appealing…… add some more add ons in the game its getting boring
why do the high density residential buildings have to look so ugly - they're literally just a high rise chunk thats like half the time all the same height please put some time into making some better models that look much better
3 months since launch, no new assets, no DLCs, no mods. Very disappointing so far.
The game is broken.... You want DLC? There is no console edition... Priorities much??
