Weird as it seems...this is ideal timing for the Raiders. Next year yall can probably lure Ben Johnson from Detroit...During a draft year likely to see elite QB still on the board into the second round...and rapidly restore balance to a defense heavy team.
Btw I LOVE Joys take....harsh but spot on. That was my Lions for the last 30 years. Bad drafts.... personnel moves...terrible coaching picks...and endless losing seasons culminating in a 30 year playoff draught. Finally we have returned to relevance....but it required a paradigm shift at the owner level, a new GM, and a new Coaching staff. Raiders will need to find the right combination early and do what the Lions did...with. 2 years be a legit playoff contender again.

Mike White was pretty bad. Art She’ll 2.0 was pretty lost too. Nobody lost the locker room like this though, Josh is clearly the #1 seed in that regard. Gruden was the only name that Joy listed that didn’t get fired because of performance, had those emails not leaked Gruden would probably still be the head coach of the Raiders seeing as how each year the team got better under him.

The team still played a lot better after gruden was gone. It was a roller coaster year but I think carr and rich and maxx, Yannick and Josh jacobs brought that team together. Roller coaster season and both sides of the football said watch what were gonna do and pulled together carr played good down the stretch and defense stepped up when they needed

We experienced the "Patriot Way" in Detroit with Matt Patricia. Patricia was supposed to be some sort of defensive guru and the Lions were bottom 6 in defense every year under him. That didn't stop Matty Patty from being arrogant as f. Every dysfunction you see in Vegas was also going on in Detroit. Patriot Way was Tom Brady. Period. Without Brady ot doesn't work.
The famed and revered "Belichik system and coaching tree" was nothing but one man : Tom Brady. All the rest including Belichik are just frauds and freeloaders.

Not every situation is player driven, I agree with you that some defenses just don't have the talent, but especially when you're hired and known for either defense or offense, like McDaniels, you can't average 16ppg after getting rid of their franchise qb last year. Any head coach that specializes in one side of the ball, you have to at minimum fix that side of the ball

Suckdaniels thought he was better than everyone else. Carr was frustrated with the play calling having Devante . Not giving Carr the opportunity to make changes at the line was mainly ego.

The Raiders should of never got rid of Bill Misgrave under Jack Delrio, Carr was hot the team was hot. After they got rid of him they were never the same.
Exactly! Raiders went 12-4 in 2016 under Jack Del Rio, then Raiders gave JDR a contract extension then following year, didn't renew Bills Musgrave contract and Raiders finished 6-10 in 2017. Then Raiders fired JDR. Crazy.
Spot on - Bill Musgrave is one of my favorite OC's. He actually developed players versus shoving a square peg into a round hole.
Jack did get us to the playoffs but yeah definitely agree with Mark shooting for super stardom and that killed it. Tom cable was at least 50/50 two seasons back to back 🤣 Rich definitely had potential I don't think anybody from Raider Nation wanted him gone after the season finished. Coach Pierce conference today was epic Definitely highly motivated energy there Loved it! Great segment :-)

The Raiders made "crazy" moves today? No. It was logical to fire McDaniels. The crazy took place when Davis fired Rich Bissacia to hire McDaniels, fire Carr then overpay Garoppolo. This is just the natural result of all that crazy.

That last min comment about Del Rio… I think about that everyday. Why did we get rid of him our problem was Ken Norton (DC). And bill musgrave was questionable at times but we were literally one more year if not two more years away from being a contending playoff team. We literally had Carr,Murray Crabtree Cooper our OL was AMAZING behind Hudson Osemele and Penn. it was the defensive side of the ball that only needed to be fixed. Other than Mack on the other side we didn’t have any other good players. I think about if mark Davis just stuck it out a little bit longer. Del Rio would’ve had us back to our glory days. I mean you could clearly see the love and passion he had for the organization and players in his eyes every Sunday. He wanted to be a raider not like McDaniels i knew he was going to be a disaster the moment we signed him.

They shouldn’t blame Rich Bisaccia for his stint as HC. He came in after Gruden and took the team to the playoffs. Blame Davis for not keeping Bisaccia despite the rapport he built with the team. The players played for him, and Carr was a great rallying point alongside Bisaccia. Bisaccia’s only sin here was not being named McDaniels or Gruden.
The answer is to get a good GM and let him find a good head coach. And stay away from the Patriots organization.
The Luons did the same thing. They hired Caldwell, who was doing a pretty good job. They had one step back year and hired Bob Quin as the GM for the pats. Quin did not draft well at all, Caldwell had 3 out of 4 winning seasons which is good for the lions but Quin fired Caldwell and brought in his guy, from the patriots Patricia. Patricia couching and Quin's drafting wrecked the place.
They hired Brad Holmes as GM he hired Dan Campbell. Any talent was left wanted out by then and the last 4 draft classes were abominable, so it took a minute to get things turned around bht half way into year 2 things started looking good.
Talent wise, with the exception of QB the Raiders are better off than the Lions were. Get the GM hire right and have him hire the coach. An stay away from New England.

Facts this isn’t talked about enough, Carr is the reason why the raiders had leads, but I think Josh always made a scene in the locker room causing the collapses in the second half. Because this year we haven’t event gotten close to the same production as last year. I feel for Carr, maybe we can trade for him in offseason? With the right coach lol 😂

This show should be called complain. Thank goodness James was there providing something interesting. As a Raider fan, Joy and Acho are just yelling and complaining. If I wanted that, I’d just go talk with other Raider fans and we can commiserate and come up with what we wished had happened instead. Yelling “Fix it” or giving me proverbs are not insightful. Gimme some actual suggestions on candidates or criteria that fix it. Who’s good enough? To their point “tell me something I can’t google”. I just wasted 15 minutes of my life. That's Joy Taylor, and yes she hit it on the head with that. Raiders Coaching changes is just embarrassing.
Lets be clear McDaniels got hired because of his successful resume in handling the NE offense with Brady and how well he had Mac Jones playing as a rookie. Mark Davis felt Carr was a better Qb than Mac Jones and that McDaniels could be the key piece to take Carr's ability to take the next level. It made sense schematically. In addition, many felt McDaniels had learned from his youthful mistakes in Denver.
Unfortuntately for the Raiders McDaniels didn't learn. The result was a repeat of McDaniels turning out to be a disaster and he failed miserably to help out Carr, and fix weekly issues. The final ingredient McDaniels added to his disastrous gourmet meal was on March 15th when he signed Jimmy G. Sprinkle his stubborn prideful seasoning of refusing to bench Jimmy G after bad performances and Mark Davis was left with no choice but to finally open his eyes clearly to the buffet of bonehead moves McDaniels was force feeding Raider Nation with weekly.

Yes a lot of coaches get hired under Belicheck but why would you think McDaniels could be a good coach when we have seen these other coaches under Belicheck they haven’t been good and McDaniels got fired mid season with the Broncos.
Josh McDaniels got 2 head coaching gigs because of Tom Brady. Just like Adam Gase got a coaching job because of Peyton Manning. Its wild how easily these owners can get tricked.
You know what it shows us? That the people at the top often don't know any more than anyone else. They usually aren't in these positions because of their capability or talent. They're just rich, and a lot of time, they didn't even earn it themselves.

By the end of the 2022 season I saw how bad things were under Mcdanials leadership
Under Mcdanials leadership this season the Raiders have regressed to the point of being no longer competitive vs bad teams.
Putting all your chips on the injury prone Jimmy G was a failure from day one.
Now I'm hearing that Mcdanials might be crawling back to the Patriots and daddy Bill B- good, they can have him!!
Shady was a good player, but both his rings were handouts and being on the team by default… he did hardly anything for that chiefs team and bucs team……… he needs to stop acting like a female and being so abrasive when speaking

I absolutely agree with Taylor ,the Raiders have been terrible in the 21st century and yes McDaniels had to go but it still doesnt patch up the cracks in that organisation
They did make the post season in 2016 and 2021, its no one's fault josh is trash as a head coach even in denver, joy is fine but her brother is the reason shes on tv
