Today, I’d like to specifically focus on when you should use progesterone to help you get pregnant. It’s often referred to as the ‘pregnancy hormone’ because (when taken correctly) it will help your body to achieve and maintain a successful pregnancy.
Progesterone is a pretty important hormone when it comes to conception and successful pregnancy, so, if you think you could have a progesterone deficiency, then it’s important that you investigate it as soon as possible.

Hello sir, is there any connection between egg size and projesteron level? My egg size at CD14 was max 9mm and my projesteron level at CD 21 was 28.88ng/ml, dr told me as projesteron level is enough, so there is no problem with egg size for pregnancy

Is it likely to have a successful pregnancy with just oral progesterone and suppositories (ie no PIO)? Also are you supposed to "monitor" your progesterone level during the two week wait (or even before then)? We were given oral progesterone and once a day suppositories. No monitoring and then straight to a blood test for hcg levels. Is this maximizing our chances for pregnancy properly?

Hello. Since ten months ago, I get cramps, bloat, nausea and even vertigo at CD 21 or 22. That lasts 1 or 2 days. Then spotting and symptoms are completely gone and until my actual period. I have a 27 or 28 day cycle. I track my ovulation using urine testing, and BBT. I just got a progesterone test at 7 DPO and results were 11.9. Could it be the reason for my spotting?

Hi Dr. Marc! So my progesterone tests after two IUI cycles (different months) at around 7dpo were 2.97 the first IUI and 4.19 the second IUI. According to the nurse my doctor didn’t think I needed any added progesterone support at the time. I’ve read and researched all over and its not adding up to what my doctor said. It seems too low.

Hi Marc, I have always had pretty regular periods, but about 3 months ago they stopped. I have also been trying to get pregnant for about 2 months as well, my doctor prescribed me progesterone pills to get me to start menstruating will this help me get pregnant?
This will hopefully help you get your cycle back but not specifically get pregnant.
Hi Dr. Marc, this cycle my doctor gave me letrozole 5mg, in CD21 i did blood test for progesteron and doctor said I didn’t ovulate.. so doctor asked me to take duphaston to induce my menses in CD 31.. then i took ovulation test in CD 33 i got positive OPK.. is it possible im ovulating? Also is it possible that duphaston can effect ovulation?

Hi Marc! I know you posted this video last month, but I just came across it. I recently miscarried my first pregnancy at 5 weeks, and my blood results at 4 weeks showed a progesterone level of 13. The day I began to miscarry, progesterone was down to 9, although my HCG numbers were high at that point - They were more than doubling every two days up until the day I lost the pregnancy. Anyway, my doctor didn't mention any concern for my progesterone level, but is 13 at four weeks considered low? Should I ask her about getting on progesterone for my next pregnancy? I am 36, almost 37. I discovered I was pregnant in November 2021, and miscarried in December 2021. I am now about 7 weeks pregnant in my second pregnancy and have been experiencing light spotting for 12 days.
At 6 weeks, I was hearing things about progesterone from a fertility Facebook group I'm a part of, so I asked for a progesterone test. The results came back around 10.64. That sounded low to me, and I inquired if I should be receiving extra progesterone or not. They told me no. I kept inquiring (because of my spotting I was very concerned), and they ended up prescribing me 100mg of progesterone a day until I'm 12 weeks because "it couldn't hurt."
I picked up the prescription, but now that I'm 7 weeks, I'm guessing the placenta will take over progesterone production soon, and I don't want to mess with that transition in my body.
In your professional, medical opinion (I know you're not actually MY doctor, and I do take that into account), what are your thoughts on any of this?

There is nothing wrong with trying it and I don't think it'll hurt the natural process of your placenta taking over later.

My GYN prescribed me progesterone pills because I bleed for months at a time non-stop and all my blood work came back normal and I don’t have any deficiencies other than my iron levels. But she recommended I take one progesterone pill a day for two weeks, then take two weeks off and continue that for a couple of months and she said it should regulate my period and allow me to get pregnant within months of doing this? It’s not much of a question, but I can’t find any research to support this information, so if you could give me feedback I’d really appreciate it.

While some people do get pregnant after UFE, their chances of becoming pregnant afterwards does drop quite a bit. Believe me, I researched everything under the sun in order to avoid the surgery I’m now scheduled to have in a couple of weeks for fibroids

I don't ovulate on cd 21 but I always make sure it's 7-8 days past when I do to test and both times I've gotten 9 and 11.4. My luteal phase is always 14 days so I never suspected for that level to be a problem. I understand the importance of progesterone in preventing early miscarriage but could a low luteal progesterone level prevent conception and/or implantation from occurring in the first place before a pregnancy test would turn positive?
I have a short luteal phase only 7/8 days. My husband and I are TTC this cycle. Wouldn’t 7dpo be too late for me to test progesterone if we were TTC this cycle?

Hi Marc! Is there harm in taking progesterone while pregnant? I asked my OB what I could do to prevent more miscarriages (2/5 pregnancies resulted in miscarriages). Only just this week got a positive pregnancy test after 8 months of trying since my last miscarriage.

My doctor did not lister what I was saying.. i had ovulation in day 25-28, with long cicles (40-45 days). And she gave me progesterone in days 16-25.. of course I did not ended pregnant because I took progesterone before ovulation. I gave up progesterone, i will try naturally next month, like i did 1 year ago and got pregnant in first month!! I had the pregnancy for 24 weeks, no problems, no progesterone, but it ended in a termination because of chromosomial causes 😥

It is normal for your cycles to be a little irregular when you start new BCP.
