  • How To Tell If You’re Fertile
This week’s #FertilityTV episode is about the 9 NON-NEGOTIABLE areas of your fertility. If you can check these things off your list, then your fertility is likely to be at its peak and your body baby-ready.
In this episode, I’m talking about the key factors that I work on with my private patients to empower their fertility naturally.
By focusing your attention on these 9 things - whether you choose the assisted or natural route to pregnancy - your odds of conceiving are going to skyrocket.

We didnt stop trying i started to get obsessed with taking a test til i seen the final results..it was unhealthy for me to do. Im only 21 and i know its young but i wanted a baby and still do its just hard to accept the fact a Dr told me i wont be able to ever conceive. As a woman , that's the worst thing to hear i cry a lot still especially when i see these parents killing their children and i cant even have ONE. Its ok ill get through this hopefully one of these days I'll have my rainbow baby 🌈

How to know if you are fertile:
    1. Menstrual cycle: are you having one, is it regular or irregular?
(Menstrual cycle: bleeding, follicular phase (pre-ovulation), ovulation phase (short), luteal phase (14 days).)
Consistent, dependable and reliable. If it shifts, there is a hormonal imbalance.
    2. Track your cycles. Know when you are ovulating. Ways: basal body temperature (BBT), track symptoms, high tech gadgets. Mobile apps: OOva app, mirror app.
    3. Ovulation may not happen on the same day every cycle. Know when you're ovulating- to time the intercourse. (Fertile window)
    4. Look at your phisical sysmptoms: cervical mucus (egg white), libido increase, twinges in your belly, lower back pain.
    5. Hormone evaluation: FSH (egg quality), LH (paired with FSH), E2 (estrodile), test on day 2,3,4 of menstrual cycle. Need to be low.
Progesterone: will peak 7 day after ovulation.
    AMH (egg reserve).
    6. Uterus: how healthy is it (shape, abnormalities, fibroids, polyps, thickness of the lining).
    7. Fallopian tubes: HSG procedure (dye test).
    8. Sperm health. (Number, volume, movement, head correctness).
    9. Genetics (family history of repro issues, miscarriages, inability to conceive). Before/after conception.
    Lifestyle:
    10. weight (overweight or underweight). BMI.
    11. Stress levels, sleep, exercise.
    12. Diet (clean or junky)

Just so girls/women knoe about this. My mom has always had a very irregular cycle. No issues found: no endometriosis or anything wrong. She is VERY fertile - she has gotten pregnant every time she's had sex without a condom, and even twice while being on a copper spiral and a hormonal spiral. My best friend had not had her period for about half a year and got pregnant the first month of unprotected sex. Having an irregular period does not automatically equal infertility.

True story/tip: I've had a lifetime of very troubled and irregular cycles. I was diagnosed with suspected PCOS and also diagnosed with CFS. Severe inflammation was therefore my issue. I did all the normal things and then did every alternative thing you can think of. My cycle slowly settled and my energy returned. Back in March this year I bought a grounding sheet and a NIR full body light to help me through suspected Covid19. My first cycle after getting these devices actually appeared on the full moon. For 5 months in a row now this has happened. I didn't even notice this until the 4th month. I had no expectation of this happening. I got those devices to get through the virus and nothing more. I had tunnel vision at the time. Improving my cycles was the last thing on my mind. To be honest I didn't even believe this was possible for the average woman who lives an average city-based lifestyle. But it seems it is. I'm now investigating microcurrent and PEMF to see if it can help even more.
    P.S. I'm 44.

Great info Doc😉. I know there may be challenges on road being 43 and reversing tubes so I'm in education and early interventionmode now. Reversal was scheduled for 07/17 then rescheduled due the sx center being short due to employees having COVID🤷🏽‍♀️. Waiting on the bedside visit to hear of the level of success for that part, 08/19. Did an AMH 5.75 this July and I'm up from 4.67 2yrs ago after starting this journey. Other hormonal tests look fine and within range during follicular phase. Taking DIM & UBIQUINOL daily, LOW DOSE DHEA once a week. I am overweight for body type, high sensitivity to carbs, and my current TSH is at .9. and I'm now living a very low carb lifestyle, walking and jogging routinely. 🤦🏽‍♀️The scale isnt bulging tho. Starting irish sea moss for thyroid levels and I ordered Spirulina & Wheatgrass to help with the minerals. Hgb was pretty low too @10.? Partially because of being taken on my day 3 with the other tests but I usually am under. If you'd like to recommend anything, I'm open.

I'm kinda odd. I think I was in my worst situation when I got pregnant with both my kids in my 20s. One common thing with both was I hung around with someone who was pregnant.
1st time I was homeless partly due to husband not wanting to work & I was young & not very bright. We had to walk everywhere we went & food was irregular.
2nd child I was in the opposite situation- remarried to someone that kept me well fed on not so healthy foods & I became very obese plus no walking.

Love your videos! I am 31 and had my AMH tested and it came back low. 7.2pmol (from Canada) and FSH was okay at 9.6. Follicle count was 14 and sonohysterogram clear. My clinic is doing IUI but I feel like I should jump to IVF with those numbers. I have been trying for one year. What are your thoughts?

Dr. Mark I am 22 years old and trying to get pregnant but my period is EXTREMELY irregular. I’ve gone without a period for as Long as 1 year and 6 months. I’ve gotten exams done and everything comes back normal (hormone levels, cholesterol, diabetes, etc.). The doctors were guessing PCOS so we did ultrasounds and again everything came back normal. Any ideas ? Do I have a chance to get pregnant

I have always worried about my fertility because I have made so many mistakes and never gotten pregnant in my past. I just cycle track regularly plus ovulation tests. My cycles are regular, I don’t ovulate on the exact same day or get my period on the exact same day. I always ovulate from CD 13-17 and get my period around 15 days later. My libido increases during the first half of my cycle with my egg white CM, I sometimes get ovary pain. After ovulation my libido drops a few days after until my next cycle. My menses usually lasts 5 days. Nothing points to infertility for me. Only indication of a hormone imbalance is I sometimes spot just before ovulation BUT my doctor told me it’s normal to spot a small amount and I have hormonal acne. But hormonal acne runs in my family and nobody has had fertility issues. My BMI is overweight and I do need to improve my diet. I need to lose about 15lbs to go back to a normal BMI. I also have an anxiety disorder that is under control unless I’m going through a lot of changes in my life like I am right now. The things I need to improve are managing my stress, eating healthier and losing a few pounds. I also am not trying to conceive for a few years yet, but I’m really curious about my own fertility which is why I cycle track. I do know most of the 9 things to look for :)

Thank you for this video. In my case everything you mentioned is normal for my partner and me. We have been trying for 12 months with no miscarriages or chemicals, just nothing at all. I have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. This diagnosis was very frustrating and unhelpful. RE is recommending 3 rounds of IUI with clomid and if that fails IVF. Both treatments are expensive and I wish I could just fall pregnant naturally. The only thing I can think of as to why it is taking so long to conceive is our age, we are both healthy but I am 34 and my husband is 39. Is it normal for people our age to take more than a year to conceive naturally?
