  • We fill our heifer silage silo and move the blower to the home farm to put some there too. I show some footage of the forage harvester. The next morning we level it off and set up the unloader. Thanks for watching.

Hello there! My husband and I always look forward to your videos! We have come from farming backgrounds but not farmers now. We especially appreciate the times you include a scripture verse at the end . Without God, where would we be? We are both born again Christians and love to see others of like mind. May God bless you and your family with good health, God’s peace and abundant life!

The one thing that I have noticed from your videos is that farming is way more complicated, and dangerous, than working in the fields. Keeping things running and in good working order and somewhat neat and clean, takes a lot of back breaking chores. Be safe out there.

Very interesting to see the inner workings of your farm. I too didn't know how silos worked, and your comments, for example, about moisture content, and venting gases, and even seeing the two sets of ladders up to the top, just shows how complex silos and silo storage is. The best view in your vid was from the top of that silo, of all the surrounding farmland and farm bldgs and silos. You've got a big operation. Work safely. Nice verse.

I know you boys have been doing it for 10 generations, but there is a reason why farming is among the most dangerous occupations in America! Don't get complacent! Sucks we weren't able to make it past Sept 96 farming. Most of my other family's farms are Amish or Mennonite owned now. Our 14x45 Harder was taken down and is like a 12x35 now on an Amish Farm 20 minutes from here. My Uncle's farm is Amish owned, they redid part of the house, the 16x40 Silo is gone to same area as where our Silo went, and they still have the 16x50 silo. The Badger ring drive that Grandpa put in that silo new in the late 80's I bet is long gone now. Both the pack drives in the other 2 were pretty much junk. Now they are Fork Powered LOL. Allot of Mennonites moving in closer to me, redoing or putting up new barns, moving the current silos to a different spot, reassembling, putting in new Unloaders, and adding silos! I like seeing the Silos making a comeback. Some places had 1 or no silos, now have 3-4.
