Friday November 1, 2019. Milking, showing what we have improved in our parlor, welding up skid loader bucket, fixing John Deere 4240 fuel gauge and more. Thanks for watching.
I enjoy your videos. I spent 30 years as dairy nutrition consultant. I retired from that business in 2001 and became a pastor. Your videos bring back a lot of memories. In the late 1990’s my company fed 7 of the top ten herds in Iowa, and on of those herds was the number one 2x dairy herd in the world with just a little over a 36,000 rha. Watching you makes me miss the business. God bless you, your family, your cows and your profit for 2020.
It’s astounding how many technical skills you have. You are an amazing and hard working man. It was nice to have your dad make a cameo appearance. ;). Men like you built our country from the ground up. Yep, I’m pretty impressed with all you do.
Hats off to ur folks for raising a good hard workin man. Don’t see young guys like you workin hard like you do around the farm. Great work like watching the videos.
I just love this time of day, got the morning Dew in the grass..... LOL Caught me totally off guard. Love your videos! The milk house is looking really nice!!! Great work!
Always loved the variety of tasks on our dairy farm. Cows-crops-machines-welding-plumbing-construction-land clearing...all in the same day. Great life lessons and skills I use to this day. Thanks for letting us park into your life.
Thanks for another great video. I know its a hard life but when you love what you do it just makes the job so much better. And also ya'll have one of the cleanest farms I've ever seen. Hats off to you and your Dad. And the rest of the farm help. I love the fact your animals are healthy and cared for. And the farm in its self is just a beautiful peace of land.
Awesome u even found a dew in the see. Thank u for sharing. Enjoyed the trip to the parlor to see your new improvements. Have a great day keep making vlogs enjoy watching. I enjoy all the different types of things u show .
Agree with everyone else,,, the new siding is quite the improvement for the milking parlor. The lead up to finding the Dew was rather cleverly crafted. Good to see your dad as an actual presence and not just a passing mention. Carry on lad, carry on.
Looking good and clean in the parlor. I recall rhe day when I had to patch the patches. Fingers crossed and pray- LOL. Thanks for sharing! I too agree the best time of the morning....sunrise.
I love your videos man, reminds me of my childhood on the farm and my cousin's dairy farm. It's such a commitment to the cows, the hard work of a dairy operation is completely out of my family's grain farm life. We had time off unlike you guys.
Milking parlor looking good. It's always good to have a fan blowing welding fumes, smoke away from you when your welding especially if not using a welding ventilator mask. A fan won't effect stick welding can point it right above where you are wielding and take smoke away from you. Thanks for cool videos I enjoy them
I get wowed a lot seeing how modern things are on Jan (sask Dutch)’s farm but I really like seeing the reality of make do and mend on your farm. I’ve never had a lot of money so it’s nice to see the commitment to keeping things up.
All of your videos are great! I've learned a lot from them. Dairy farming is a lot of work and you all work really hard. Glad to see your dad in the video.
Looks good. Nice welding, we always had to customize our buckets. Even brand new will not hold up too loading out of the bunker. Just keep fixing and beef it up. Keep up the good work and videos..
Watching the meticulous way you work, very good, and the milking parlor is looking first-rate!, the milking washing system is really neat, it has been a while since I have seen actually watched washing-after-milking, and that was done by hand. You worked in the "morning dew" just right... had me going thinking you were only referring to the weather. nose to the grind stone-- full speed ahead!
What I did at work was rebuild these buckets. Our frontloaders were of course twice the size of yours. Most of the time the bottom cutting blade was worn away so from Cat we would purchase the blade. When the machine was new the blade was bolted on. When I rebuilt them I would not use bolts because that interfered with scooping and dumping. So I used multiple pass wire feed welders to weld them on even though they still had bolt holes. We would buy cutter bars for the next size larger bucket and I would just cut the end off after welding it in place. The back braces needed new braces and the cylinder hookups also needed repaired replaced. We just never threw away a used bucket because after I got through it worked better than new buckets for the operator. The warp in the bucket was removed with metal clamps to push it into place before welding. The only new buckets came with new machines.
the milking parlor looks much better with the white plastic and i bet its easier to keep clean, just hose it off. I think all your welding and reinforcing has made that bucket better than a new one, unless you find a great deal on a new one I wouldn't waist your money.
Bleeding the fuel line is a pain when you run the tractor out of fuel. Moral of the story is to full it up when it gets to half. Additions to the parlour 👍bucket repairs. When there's more replacement metal than original, then and only then is it time for a new one lol unless you have decadent amounts of cash to flash🤗 warm fuzzies, your dad and you working together
good job on the bucket and the parlor looks great, thanks for the vids can't get enough..i was wearing my 10th gen dairyman t-shirt today and just about every one that knows me asked...so i explained about 10 times your channel...so maybe you get some more subs, keep em coming!
How many vocations come under the definition of “farmer”? Mechanic, welder, vet, building maintenance, care giver, nurse, milkers, janitorial obviously on a commercial scale, large vehicle operator, gopher, plus however many others I’ve missed. INCREDIBLE !
Very much enjoy the videos. Very different than the Cow-Calf and Feedlot Operation I grew up on. I would enjoy a detailed video on the milking process. How you work the pens through the parlor, how you clean the teats, how you clean the milking system, how you ship the milk. Excellent videos!
good job brother I grow up feeding cows horses chickens I wish I could live in a place like you and doing that everyday for a living keep it up brother just waiting for new videos
Wow that's an improvement, looks real good. Sure hope you're getting paid for all that work, know how swedish milk farms struggle from time to time. Looks awesome thou, think I would love that life. Love your videos man, keep it up. Greetings from a cold Sweden
Another great video Eric that cladding on the parlour looks tidy, your parlour looks like a GEA could you describe it perhaps in another video. Nice to hear your Dad making a comment Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧

We fixed (by “we” I mean Andrew and my dad) the fuel sensor on our 40 as well. Got in it one day to mow some hay, it was reading full. I think “cool, fuel gauge now works and it’s full. Mow hay for 10 minutes, and it runs out of fuel. Only thing we fixed is the gauge instead of reading empty it showed full! Lol
As a father. It is a blessing to have a hard working son. Your father must be proud.
I enjoy your videos. I spent 30 years as dairy nutrition consultant. I retired from that business in 2001 and became a pastor. Your videos bring back a lot of memories.
