10th Generation Dairyman
Registrace 9. 12. 2015
My name is Eric, I'm a dairy farmer in southern Pennsylvania. We have a 200 cow milking herd along with 150 or so young stock. We farm 250 acres where we grow all our forage and a little grain. I'm making videos of what I do day to day. I hope you enjoy.

Snow Protection & All kinds of farm work
You could use anti seize compound on the shaft splines.
make the slugs "sluggish"?!?!? Seriously, are you looking for a gig in the Catskills, Shecky?
You've got huge areas of pasture that your cows could eat yet you grow grass to put into silos to feed to your cows that are kept inside barns. Absolutely hate the way you Americans treat your animals. Here it is forbidden to have our animals from sheep to cattle both for meat and dairy housed inside in giant enclosures. All our beef and dairy is raised outdoors and is grass fed. Sure in winter especially in areas where it snows hay and silage is given to the animals but they are still outside and free to forage. Our pigs are now free range and chickens both for food and eggs are no longer allowed to be caged. Another thing it is illegal to give the animals hormones.
Maybe you should put your dairy farm name on those tree new silos and a American flag???
Great to see all that winter feed secured
Your farm is getting very big! I t was big, it's getting bigger. we have some like yours in Ohio! But not quite as big that I've seen! 😊
You have a spring in your step! Nice to see!😊
Some folk are still watching. Great very informative and interesting videos fella
What is the life of the new silos? I love the way you explain what you are doing. That helps me understand just how a farm really work. Thank you so much. ❤❤❤❤
good to know about the air in the silo ive never done that on my fathers farm
Can anyone tell what is out there to get rid of coons, possums and cats that are not mine and can't run off. Does malrin still work? Have horses and possums must go, no luck live trapping.
Why would you have air tires on a Bobcat? They should be solid or tracks.
Tracks are for dirt work. Solid tires ride rougher than air tires.
Where do y'all sell the silage at after it's fermented? Or do you use it all?
If say they maybe just a little sluggish lol
Is the corncracker in the CLAAS only used when doin ensilage ? thsnks
I'm a first time viewer and I'm very happy with your content! I like how you explain everything you do!
Tuesday& Wednesday we were at Hershey Farm to see Daniel at S&S. Idrove over Wednesday am, you were milking, I wanted to check out those giant silos😊
Have you started feeding from the 1st silo you filled?
Yes video will be out sometime in the next week
Vegans should watch your videos to see how well animals are treated by farmers.
I guess I am a bit surprised the floor of the grain bin isn’t finished. Will it eventually be or at least the rocks cleared out?
Love my case planter pull it with a 2018 case magnum
Great video
I'm surprised you don't seem to using never sieze on the bolts or even grease on the shafts, that is a rule of mine, especially if i know I'll be back in there taking it apart. Or did i miss something? Nice looking cows btw, really clean looking herd.
I was always interested as to how this was done, thank you for this video. subscribed. I did notice quite a lot of spillage at the bottom of the hopper/blower unit, maybe a rubber shroud under and over could help reduce the spill.
The dairy farmers and beef cattle farmers I know call this equipment "mower-conditioner". They tell me that when the hay stalks are crimped by the rollers, it captures moisture inside the stalks, which makes it better feed.
Does the triticale get chopped any more than what you showed it in the field?
Bro is on an ice rink
another great video
Love watching your videos, I'm out in Indiana County and we've got more slugs then usual as well. My chickens are loving it though. Have you guys ever been out to the Indiana County auction? They have it every Thursday at 1 in Homer City. Usually pretty good prices.
could try notill coulter blades in place of your row cleaners pretty sure kinze has a kit. might be worth a shot before you invest in a new planter. that being said we run a 6 row White 5100 don't do a lot of no till but seems to work well when we do.
Love the Doge 🌭
Congratulations to you and your wife for a beautiful baby girl
Another great video!!
Having never seen the inside of a silo before seeing your channel, this video helped me understand so much more how they work. Cool!
Excuse me,how many dairy cow do you have? By the way great job ❤❤
Hey man, cows are part of the food chain. It is what it is
will you build a brige between the silos? that way you could spare your self of climbing 3 Times a 120ft ?
It took a full day to clean out one barn with my father and then another day of spreading manure… I know it’s sped up but it looks like 2-3 hours of work.
Just seeing how clean ur animals are is just amazing. By watching the videos u can see what kind of farmers ur family is, should be proud of this. Great job!!!
Hedgehog are the solution to slugs 🐌
I especially like the Dallas Cowboy 'stars' at the top of your new silos. 😉 Just kidding. Can't wait for the robotic feeding- that's going to be so interesting. Love your videos, been watching since the very beginning.
Brought back memories from when i was a kid, we'd chop hay for silage, fill a 50ft silo, blower was driven by belt. Definitely not as efficient as these guys. Thank you for video
".....a little sluggish there for a bit before they pass on"! Couldn't resist, couldjah!?
You do amazing work! Thank you for your service 🫡
Thank you Lord for our farmers. Blessings
An udder great video.. Thanks! Hey Eric, I bought some Triticale breakfast cereal. I'm already mooing. It tastes good and also has oats, barley, red & white wheat, spelt, and flax seed. I like it with a little pure maple syrup. Yummm.
Nice heifers
Why would you not level and finish the silo flooring🤷♂️
