    I got this and the Cat in 2021. The Wasp is a bit limited in terms of modulation routings and limited waveforms, but that filter is sweet! It can make some wild tones that jump out in a mix. I think this will be a sought after synth in a few years after it goes out of production. The out of production SH 101 clones are already going up in price and my Mono Poly has jumped $200.00 since I got and it is still being manufactured.

      Thanks! Yes, it takes a backseat for me lots of times. But then I pull it out again and realize that is is a great sounding little analog box.

    thank you for the info! Is there a way to assign the pitch bend on the midi keyboard controller? Lets say on the Keystep?

    • @ToddUrban
      @ToddUrban  Před rokem +1

      Hi! I’m not in front of the unit, so I cannot confirm this at the moment, but I’m thinking on this unit, the answer is no. This is based on the idea that the pitch bend is more like a “tuning knob”. However typically the answer would be yes for most synths. When I’m back from NAMM, I’ll try to confirm this for sure!

    i bought a behringer wasp quite recently. my quick start guide says that both oscillators in the off position produce a sine wave. and indeed there is a sine-ish sound, but it is very faint. in fact it is so quiet that it is useless for any musical purposes.
    i'm not quite sure, if this is a fault. i would hate to send the synth back, because i was glad that my unit does not display the dreaded double trigger issue.
    does your behringer wasp also produce these faint sine waves?

    • @ToddUrban
      @ToddUrban  Před rokem

      Really, it says that? 😂 No, your hardware is fine. Most analog synths have some leak. (It gives the files something to work with for self oscillation.) But I wouldn’t say it produces a sine. That’s insane.

    Hi and thanks for the Video. I have a big question and y bought a w Behringer wasp and I try to comet my M-audio Axiom 25 but I can't make it works. Can you help me to make it works please 🙏🏼

    • @ToddUrban
      @ToddUrban  Před měsícem

      Hmmm. I would think that if you take the MIDI out cable and run it into the WASP, it should work. You will just need to make sure the MIDI out on the M-Audio is to all channels and the WASP is set to receive all channels. Maybe someone here has tried it and can verify if they've gotten it to work?

  •  Před 7 měsíci

    Can I use my maudio oxigeny39 through the wasp and connect with my arturia vst (daw)? I’m confused to know if this a “midi controller” extension 😅

    • @ToddUrban
      @ToddUrban  Před 7 měsíci

      You would need a midi cable output from the Oxygen. (Which I think it does have??? I’d need to check)
      But regarding connecting to VST instruments this is an analog synth, not really a processor for DAW audio to come out of the box for processing. But you can use your DAW sequencer to send MIDI over USB. Check out my desktop synths video. That might help explain it.

    •  Před 7 měsíci

      @@ToddUrban That's really helpful! Thank you for the answer. I will dig more the WASP and also CAT desktop which i'm also interested in.

    Yes, I've got one and I'm not too happy. ADSR envelope for amplifier is strange but reminds me one from MiniMoog. Hold and Repeat is nice feature. But envelope for filter is not satisfying, only AR? No Sustain?
    I don't like speed of LFO, for the slowest is too fast and for maximum speed it might be ok.
    Other strange thing is oscilator 2 detune, why it does not tune in the middle?
    PW width is not satisfactory, the change isn't significant. Enhanced wave is not much different from saw tooth.
    I bought it thinking about something similar to Korg MS10, but it is far away from that.
    I love noise generator and different wave shapes for LFO, especially Random wave and possibility of applying it to Filter.
    Recently I bought Behringer version of Korg MS20, I hope it will be better than Wasp and will give me pleasure I got with MS10.

      Thanks for your response about your experience. Yeah, I don't think the WASP is a must have, or amazing, or some game changer. But it is creative, quirky, and can be a fun texture. But it is far from the 1st synth I would purchase.

    • @petersamiutenki
      @petersamiutenki Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@ToddUrban Well, it could be cheap synth for making sound effects. So far I used only noise generator for my recordings😁
