- Today I am building a tooled leather Bible cover for a very important person. This cover has two separate panels that are used to create the cover. You can simplify the leather book cover from my design. Yet, I explain why you might prefer to create yours like I have done. The Hermann Oak leather that I used for the project was purchased from Montana Leather.
I appreciate you taking time to watch my video. Please Like, Share, Comment, and Subscribe!

This came out very nice, Robert. I think the use of the wrinkles in the leather look great and achieved the look you were going for. They really compliment the mountain foreground. Also, I appreciated the time you took to describe and show how to do this out of one piece of leather as an alternative. Also, the basket weave on the back looks amazing. Thank you for sharing this project with us and I have no doubt the recipient will really appreciate it.
Thanks for the detailed comment. At times it’s hard to know when too much detail is too much.
Robert awesome work on the Bible cover . Look 👀 great 👍 buddy . Great video. 😊
Thanks! I think it came out nice and the “young man” that received it was happy. So it’s a win win.
Wow. It looks amazing. Love the sunshine lines and mountains. !
I think the leather really worked out nice.
Great Bible cover!
Thanks!
Nice job interesting video.
Thanks!
That is some amazing work with the tooling ! I am sure he was thrilled with it. So cool
I talked with the new owner of the Bible cover this morning. He really liked it.
Wow, Robert, this is amazing. It came out great.
Thanks!
The Bible cover turned out spectacular and was so appreciated by the recipient.
It’s amazing all the talent that you have …. not just leather working, but your artistic talent is unbelievable. When I’ve held several of the items you’ve created recently, it absolutely blows my mind that it’s even possible to make something of that quality and beauty. This Bible cover will be treasured for a lifetime!
Thanks for the generous comment. I do think it turned out nice. I think I get more out of it making the project than the person receiving the gift. I heard from the new owner of this gift this morning. That was the best payment.
this came out beautiful. i bought the pattern pack from don gonzales and made one for my mom for christmas. she loved it, and i noticed things i can improve for the next one. thank you for sharing.
I have purchased a couple of pattern packs from Don at shows. I have not purchased project packs with the leather included. Do you think that they are a good value?
@@InMyBusyLittleShop I enjoyed it. I bought the Bible pattern pack. He included tooling patterns, but I did my own design on the one I made for my mom. But it wasn't very expensive, so I thought it was worth it. I also bought the clutch wallet pack from him.
Thanks for the information
Very touching story also. So true on the flaws and a great idea on having that as part of the cover for this Bible.
Thanks for following along
OLD Leather Smith here, Excellent job. I don't understand your statement about the knot st the end of sewing. Why? I tuck the ends in between the pieces with the glue Never had one come apart. The project is BEAUTIFUL AT THE END,!! On the knot just me I guess. GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️🥎🙃
I will give that a try in the future. I guess afraid of a note coming undone. I appreciate the response and suggestions
