Today I will be making a short belt usable again. This is a practical belt repair. I will be using Vaqueta leather from Montana Leather. Enjoyed the tips and easy going pace. I ordered 30mm buckles and at a quick glance they look like 1 1/4". I cut some straps for 1 1/4" not thinking to measure first as I had put the 30mm buckles in the 1 1/4" drawer. All part of the process trying to pay attention and stay organized. OOPS! Stay well! I will look at that suggestion. In the past I looked at doing so but found that the tip in the Laramie set would catch on the belt loops if not smooth with the sides of the leather belt. Might be a good suggestion on just buckle sets. I can definitely see how that would work more so on a western “big buckle”. Thanks does the suggestion

everybody has their own opinion. personally I would not wear that belt. OK, that;'s my opinion. think about the Ranger belt construction. work out 2 billets that are the same width as the belt. cut and skive the belt and billet and attach so No part of the belt end or the foldover will be visible. ad a shaped/fancy shape to the sewn on portion of the belt. die does not math and shouldn't. you experienced leather folks will understand. the process I tried to describe would be too long. have a great day....

Chuck, Thanks for your feedback and ideas. You could do as you described absolutely. Myself I love Ranger belts. The first goal for the owner was to have the belt look as much as possible to the original design. So I had considered the Ranger Belt but that is a big departure from the original design. Even centering the add on portions of the leather would have resulted in covering up close to 1/3 of the flower design. Still I appreciate your input. As it gives ideas to everyone.
