Wow, the amount of work in that is immense!
I was expecting all the bound pages to be pressed together and then put in a huge machine to cut the edges perfectly square. But i like the fact that it probably looks properly hand made, because it didn't go through that process.

Headbands are not just decorative; they serve a function. They were originally used to allow you to pull a book out of a shelf using your finger without grabbing onto the spine cover and risking damaging the spine. However, it's important to note that you should never pull your books out this way.

What an excellent video! What an excellent son! What an excellent present! And it's all because you had a Father that cared, didn't abandon the family like 50% of them do now; a Dad that loved his kids and they felt that love and attention etc. Good example of how it could be, yet most people I've known in my 72 years expected the kids to figure it out themselves, had no role models and felt like they were an unplanned burden!
I envy you. I'm certain you will succeed in anything you undertake in life. Thanks for doing this. I'm doing a similar project for my 72 year old "lady friend". She has a lifetime of excellent poems, from the time she was 8 up until her mother died a year ago. 86 pages of poetry. I typed them all into PhotoShop on various background pictures that suit the theme of the poem. Have 4 pages on a regular 8.5 x 11 folded paper and will do the stitching and finishing but only using " Craft Paper", cardboard and leatherette for the spine and 1/4 of the rear part of the covers. Hope it turns out. I already screwed up my first attempt. She found a half dozen typos so that had to be redone, and my spacing between the spine and the thin hardboard on each side was not wide enough. An 1/8" was just too little. Will allow a 1/4" this time around. Also my glue wrinkled the nice Craft Paper I glued on the boards. Proper glue coverage and using it sparsely is the key. Decided to use some vinyl covered paper for the inside pieces that connect the stack of pages to the inside cover. Push that vinyl connecting sheet right down that groove. Also I'm going to cover the nice decorative "Craft Paper" that I glued on the hard cover with "Mac-Tack" clear plastic sheet normally used for covering cupboard shelves etc. I'll wait a week though and make sure all the glue has cured.
    Thanks for the video.

I'd love to see you rebind a bible like this, but with round folded over corners instead of the cut corners like this book has. I've seen people who rebind bibles use multiple pieces of leather and then they'll cut a slit for the spine but never really go into detail like you do.
