It's that wonderful time of the month again! Reaction for chapter 113 of #Seraphofthe End #Owarinoseraph
Wow, us #mikayuu shippers were eating well this month eh?
We also got a very strange emotional outburst from Shinoa and yet more dodgy sympathising for holy saint Guren- and I am having none of it, thank you very much.
And shocker STILL no answers!

I liked the part where yuu said: "A poison apple? A poison spindle? And he talks about how the prince saves the princess, this line shows that Yuu is willing to jump in to danger and not care about what happends just to save people. This fits alot with Yuus carefree character in the squad, and with how he forgives people just to save them (aka "GURREN I FORGIVE YOU, just to save people "he cares about").
I also like how polite Yoichi is, remember at the bus where he had to control his emotions? The squad should never find out about his true "nature"to torture Lacus which Gekkouin liked. I love how he is still acting to like a sweet boy when he should be really angry like Kimizuki.
Oh, I really love your points! Yes Yu isn’t the wisest when it comes to avoiding danger and helping the people he cares about; he always puts his heart before head.
You’re also right that it makes sense for Yoichi to remain polite here- I think he only let the mask slip once when he confronted Guren alongside Kimizuki in 90-something. I hope for the day that the mask properly falls away and everyone gets to see just what the little cinnamon roll is capable of 😂
OMG that was definitely what I was thinking, Kagami seeing how made the fans were at chapter 112, so he made up for it with the whole Yuu wanting to kiss Mika 👍 (though I'd rather them kiss in the current timeline, it'd be kinda weird to see kid Yuu kissing a corpse 💀) I also think something big may happen between mikayuu in the next chapter, since it's Mika's birthday + the 2 year anniversary of Mika's confession
When you think about it, the entire premise of sleeping beauty is pretty weird- kissing someone who’s unconscious 😅 But yeah, I agree that it would be pretty weird to see their kid-versions actually kiss… kids shouldn’t actually be doing that stuff 😅 I’m hoping it’s foreshadowing tho for current Mika and Yu!
And noooo don’t get my hopes up for the next chapter. He’ll probably end up dying again 🥲

Thank you, glad you enjoyed! I’m still here mainly for the plot answers- that’s what has me coming back each week, and I always end up looking the fool 😅 And yeah- the bar was set pretty low after last chapter so I think a lot of us seemed to enjoy this one a lot 👍

Just realised Guren says at the end there's a "stupidly massive price" to reviving everyone which is probably his opinion that Mika a single person shouldn't be a big price for all of humanity, but he knows it is because of Yuu, which Guren finds idiotic as Mika is only one person (the best person tho)

It makes sense; Yu is so personally invested that sacrificing Mika is a massive price, even compared to all of humanity… and you’re right, to Guren that really wouldn’t make logical sense, hence the ‘stupid’ part.
Guren should really have known better tho because Guren’s own choice to revive his squad and sacrifice the world was based on emotion too 😅 I guess Guren tried to substitute the squad as an emotional stand-in for Yu’s attachment to Mika, and thought that would be enough to tip the scales.
I just hope that Yu sticks with his current decision, for better or worse, I want to see where this goes.
if the whole Yuu has to chose between Mika or humanity thing ends up being true it would kinda be fulfilling Mika's wish of running away together with Yuu just the two of them.
What if this whole massive price Guren was going on about wasn't even someones death but more of a divine beings hatred, that being Shikama's and Yuu's since he's also a seraph and wouldn't just let Mika's death go (well, i mean permanent death) because Guren obviously doesn't care for Mika so he wouldn't count Mika's death alone a massive price. unless he's talking less about the price of the taboo and more the price of unleashing Mika's seraph.
Ugh I hate thinking about this bullshit plan but i can't stop.
And about Mika's gender maybe he doesn't have genitals or y'know and thats one of the reasons his parents abused him and threw him out of a car and he just chose his pronouns himself because he didn't want to be seen as weird. Anyway just my input on it.
Oh my gosh yes, if Yu chooses Mika, they both ascend to some higher plain and thereby run away from humanity- that’s a great idea!
It’s a good point that it may not be /just/ Mika dying, there may be something more to it. I’m the same, I tell myself don’t waste brainpower on figuring stuff out when I have no control over the story, but I can’t stop myself! 😅
Mika’s gender identity is an interesting question for sure! Regarding his actual physical body, Yu’s weird bathroom vision he showed Mika, and that funny line previously when Mika was trying to sneak off, and he tried to use the line about needing to use the bathroom, would suggest he has ‘normal’ human essential functions.
… I can’t believe I’m using Yu’s questionable fantasies as canon evidence. I’m going to stop there 🤣 😅
So....for me, all i learned through your reaction of this chapter was, that there is a high? chance, that Mika will be sacraficed. And yes. That Familiy Bullshit...it's getting on my nerves, probably on everyones. I just want to see the Vampires (even Ferid), Asura and Krul and of course Yoichi happy^^
Yeah we didn’t get a lot that was new! Tbh it felt like a lot of filler covered in sugary Mikayuu icing. Sure, the icing might taste nice, but it’s not meant to be a substitute for proper food lol. We’re starving for plot 😭
I’m still praying for a subversion on the whole ‘family’ concept. OnS in general has so much potential for subverting typical fantasy tropes. Who knows, maybe our MC will end up destroying the world!
I definitely want to see Ashera and Krul happy 💕 I’m not so sure on loveable madman Ferid… mind you, I think Ferid wants to die so… maybe that would make him happy? 😅

@@ARTEMIAZ Yes, it's the same word. And it depends on the context. I would really prefer "love" in the translation instead of "care". "Like" and "Be fond of" sound good too, like "You really are fond of Mika, don't you?"

I personally don’t mind the ‘care for’ translation, but I also would have preferred love. I think ‘love’ would have fit better when Yu was talking to Guren too, as he loves him like a father. 🤔

Yes, other people have said the same- the ‘stupid big price’ probably isn’t /just/ Mika… If I’m remembering correctly, when you kill a seraph you get a sinful key and it seems like Guren has been collecting the keys for his plan… so who else might have seraphs in them? I’m thinking Yu, Yoichi, Kimizuki- we know Guren deliberately collected Yoichi and Kimizuki for shady reasons. 🤔
Krul seems to be keeping her cards close to her chest- I also wish that she would tell us what she knows! I miss Ashera so much. He needs to make an appearance soon. And yes, Mitsuba needs lines! She didn’t even get to call out Yu’s name in this chapter 😅
I felt so bad for Shinoa too! She shouldn’t blame herself for something she couldn’t control. You definitely make a good point that maybe the world being destroyed stopped the experiments on her and gave her more freedom.
Madoka Magica might be my favourite anime tbh ☺️ The way that it’s written, with such a tight plot packed into just 12 episodes, it’s fantastic. I love it’s theme of ‘be careful what you wish for’, the importance of understanding what you really want in life, and that gaining anything takes sacrifice. The Rebellion movie was very confusing! I had to watch it a couple of times, but I think it’s wonderful. The Homura v Mami fight scene at the beginning of the movie is one of my favourite anime battles ever. It really needs a sequel though- the way it ended left me with so many questions- I think the sequel is coming soon though! This year I think 🤔

Ah, do you mean because Yu is still following Guren, and the way he stopped Mika from speaking in this chapter?
I agree it comes off as very strange and it’s frustrating for us as readers because Mika is obviously the one asking the right questions, but I wonder if Yu’s over exaggerated excitement when Guren starts to talk is Yu putting on an act to keep Guren comfortable so he gives up more information- and as for the weird touch on Mika’s shoulder, maybe Yu doesn’t want Mika scaring Guren off by going in too hard straight off the bat. We all know how blunt Mika is lol and we love him for it, but I don’t think he’d make the best hostage negotiator/interrogator 😂 the shoulder touch to me was reassuring, like ‘trust me, Mika, let me handle this’.
