I really liked this chapter. Mika's finally motivated to give living a try again, so we've finally taken some big steps in the right direction where they can combine Mika' brain and Yuu's brawn to try and take hold of their own fate rather than following the tune of others.
But seriously Mika, why you gotta stab Yuu with those low blows, especially blaming him for running away and abandoning you when you're the one who pushed him to escape and you know that's one of the things that has haunted him for YEARS. I know you're really trying to put yourself down, that you don't think Yuu will be happy by your side and that you think he will find more happiness if he lives a normal life as a straight guy who gets together with Shinoa, have kids and live an easy and happy life without you. But that's not possible, and you know it! Not only does Yuu not have any romantic feelings towards Shinoa as he has clearly indicating multiple times now, but you're his only reason for struggling to live. You want Yuu to be happy, but you really don't seem to understand that you're required for him to be happy. He don't want to build a new family with Shinoa, he want to create an orphanege and build a new family with YOU, not anyone else, Mika. You clearly understand this since you're Yuu's demon and can feel his desires, so why muse you keep on punishing yourself like this and try to push him away when you both clearly don't want this. It's okey to be selfish and pursue your own happiness since it coincide together with his happiness and desires. Just give Yuu some praise for doing his best to live despite having the whole world against him, don't continue to try and push this false happiness on him that ultimately would just push him to ending his own life. Come on...
Honestly, it was very satisfying when Yuu punched Mika in the face for all that bullshit, even if we didn't get to see the actual punch. Even more satisfying that Yuu once again rejects Shinoa, but to Mikas face this time instead of Shinoa herself. And we even got the best line from Yuu: "SHUT UP, STUPID MIKA!" absolutely wonderful.
Overall I loved the chapted, but i'm still mad that they are still beating around the bush about their feelings for each other, that fist bump should have been a kiss or at the very least an hug instead. Now that Mika's hopefully back to being smart Mika, can they start talking about their actual feelings please? Come on Mika, you've told Yuu that you love him once already, do it again and force him to answer or he'll just continue playing dumb until the end of the series.
And they finally made a Life/Death pact with each other! Either both lives and are happy or both dies trying, no compromises. Just what i've hoped for for a long time now, no bullshit where either one ends up alive by themselves.
Thank you for commenting! Mika’s lines were definitely very cruel- I felt like /I/ was being punched reading them lol- but I think we all know his words come from a place of self hatred.
Personally I don’t think Mika said those things to Yu about moving on because he actually believes Yu could find happiness living a ‘normal’ life without him. I think Mika deep down has ALWAYS known that Yu’s happiness lies only with him, but he didn’t want to accept it- because if the only way to make Yu happy is for him to be by Yu’s side, that would also mean MIKA would be happy… and Mika doesn’t believe he deserves a happy ending 😢 In this chapter he is desperately trying to get Yu to blame him and let him go, which Yu refuses to do. Instead (god bless Yu for this) Yu tells him that his efforts to escape the vampires were basically heroic- he’s NOT to blame, he’s brilliant 💕 And in the end it seems Mika accepts for himself that it’s OK for them to try and find happiness together: ‘your happiness is my happiness’ 💕
I’m a bit mad about the fist bump too- but we did get a hand hold! I think censorship may be at play here, unfortunately… but for the love of god, let them have a bro hug at least, nobody’s gonna die 🙄 Or maybe if they ever get to make full body contact it will start the apocalypse or something 😂
I’m also super happy that they seem to be going for all or nothing and we won’t end up with a separation between them at the end! As it should be, Romeo and Juliet 🥲

Honestly, they should do that too. At the very least get away from the country where everyone else is for a while.

FINALLY! It doesn't resolve everything, but at least there's resolution here! Mika gets some will to live, Yu finally gets him to understand where he's coming from, and there's at least a goal, even if the plan is missing like, all the steps. I think this is the first chapter of the volume? So I guess a bit of recap was necessary, but you won't hear me complaining about a whole chapter of just Yu and Mika loving each other.
And of course Yu, who has been suicidal ever since he lost Mika, sees either accomplishing all his goals or dying with Mika to be a win-win scenario. Either way, he and Mika will be together forever. The man knows what he wants and, despite still avoiding the "L" word like the plague, he's not afraid to go get it.
But here's the real question this chapter leaves us: Since Mika and Yu have had a psychic link ever since ancient times, is the whole "Been having this expression for 200 years" really hyperbole?
Yu avoiding the L word is honestly a running gag at this point. 😂 I swear Kagami keeps a list to hand, and adds to it every time he comes up with a new poetic euphemism.
‘The steps of the plan are missing’. Funny that seems to be a recurring theme in this manga 😂 even with Guren and Shikama’s plan we only know the price, not the actual steps…
I also think that 200 year line was definitely a nod to the readers about Mika and Yu’s mysterious past! I need these answers to be revealed already, I hope this is the end of the talking for a while. I would sell my soul to Shikama for a flashback chapter in 120 😂
Listening to you getting excited for their confrontation was so fun! They really needed that.

Mika and Yuu are like brain and muscles, which one would you trust more? Of course it’s the brain. I have a feeling that this may end up with everyone alive; Mika and Yuu (and maybe Shigama) will be somewhere in the heaven looking at humans and mocking at each other.
Next chapter maybe a step closer to the final battle, or we may have other discussions on the situations. I don’t like the second though because I think we have enough of talking.

I also have a feeling it may end up with everyone alive too… Mika is due a redemption, and the only way I think he can get that redemption is if he saves everyone this time.
Honestly tho, I have mixed feelings about an ending like that!

Even tho Mika didn’t bring up Yuu’s unwillingness to listen to him I’m glad Yuu himself changed that by giving Mika freedom in choosing his own fate (the plan)
Also just as I hoped Yuu did give Mika a reason to fight! Now I actually think Mika might heal and forgive himself by thinking of a better plan, I was so worried he wouldn’t be able to find peace 🥺
It’s so cool that they’re actually communicating and even establishing a healthier dynamic (where Mika gets a say in all their bullshit), it shows that they really are great for each other :)

I thought that the way Yu redirected Mika’s anger from wanting to die, towards coming up with a way for them to win instead was well done. I still wish Yu had apologised for using Mika as a weapon against his wishes etc, but he did justify the way he acted, and explained he’s doing it for the both of them (it’s not just about what Yu wants, which was a problem I had with some lines in the previous chapter). Most importantly he made it clear that he wants and values Mika’s input. Very happy with this chapter overall!

I think Yuuona just got nailed to the coffin though and any yuunoa interactions in the future wouldn't make sense 😧

I actually got the opposite conclusion, I think yuunoa ship might sail, Yuu didn't say no I can't see myself with Shinoa or anything, he was more like I know she loves me but I have other priorities for the moment, he ignored the issue just like he has been doing with Mika's confession, I really ship Yuumika but after this chapter I dunno if they will end up together or even have any romantic bond,

@@support6726 Shinoa isn't the main charecter in owari no seraph, and owari no seraph isn't a romantic manga they don't need that much of development to end up together, however I only see them together if Mika dies or become an angel and leave with his/their father to heaven or just leave earth for some reason , It won't surprise me if we have an ending with "end of story, 5 years later, Yuuichiro walking with Shinioa and their babies with one of their kids named Mika or smthn 🤣🤣" I mean I know tens of Mangas that ended up like this...
I'm not giving up on Mika though, or Yuumika, but at this stage everything is possible

And the end could possibly just Mika and Yuu being dead or anything else 😂 we just have to get mentally, emotionally and physically ready for any ending possibilities
Oh my god FINALLY! This chapter did my soul good! FINALLY, the boys are having a heart to heart, FINALLY, they have decided to do their own thing instead of listening to others, FINALLY the thing with Shinoa was addressed, and FINALLY FINALLY the plot is really moving forward!
For a while I was thinking Yuu was going to run to Shikama, and honestly I am so glad I was wrong. I am so So SO happy that they finally have their own agency and are finally making their own choices! FINALLY Yuu is continuing his arc of gaining independence from Guren! I was so worried for a while that all that potential for this character arc was just flushed down the drain after 112, but here it is!
And Mika is finally developing too! He's finally gaining the will to live! I know it's not for his own sake right now, but it is a step in the right direction and I am here for it! I am also glad Yuu is actually listening to him again and that they are TALKING. And as much as the fighting kind of hurt to watch, I am so glad it happened because it really, really needed to.
Honestly, I can't wait for the next chapter! I am sososo excited for it!
Couldn’t have put it better myself! 👏 Their fight brought me so much joy, I scared myself a little 😅 I still think that Yu and Mika may well return to Shikama to get answers, but they don’t intend to just throw themselves at his mercy 🤞 I hope we get more plot answers revealed now that the characters are in a better emotional place
I remember in one of your previous reflection videos (117 I think) you were mentioning all the words used to describe Yuu and Mika and you said obsession was one, which you corrected in the editing to Ashera talking about Yuu's fixation on Mika. But Mika in this chapter says Yuu is obsessed with him so add it back on the list😂.
Also I can't with Mikas sudden Guren is a trustworthy guy, like only an hour or so ago they were in the van to the coffins with Mika being majorly not on board with Guren like he always is. Maybe know he's heard the plan from Guren he's like "yeah this seems okay"
I really want to see this whole obsession thing and Yu’s past being revealed, I can’t wait!
Yeah I think this is Mika saying what he thinks he ‘should’ say to convince Yu to let him go. I think Yu’s expression after Mika says that line shows that he KNOWS Mika is forcing himself to say it.
The fools and smokes is the thing Kimizuki said way back around chapter (10-18) forgot which it was, but it was near the arc when all the squads were gathering to attack the vampires. Same chapter where Yuu learns what "watering the flowers meant".

I’m still not sure on what I think of Yuu. On one hand I do agree with what he’s saying on about being free from both The First & Guren’s plans & ideas and making their own choices…
BUT, he still sounds super obsessive for Mika & uncaring about anything else. 😅 And saying that he’d die if Mika dies is just not a healthy mindset to have!
Also, I still need to repeat this to everyone who’s in the bloody universe. “STOP TRYING TO BRING BACK THE DEAD! IT’S UNHEALTHY & ALWAYS TURNS TO SHIT! JUST LET THE DEAD BE DEAD!”

Ngl, Yu feels all over the place in terms of what his goals are and even his personality, and it’s the reason I can’t put him on my favourite list. He has individual awesome moments but they don’t fit together to paint a consistent picture. I feel like I just don’t know who he is 😅
In particular I don’t like his latest switch from ‘I don’t care about humanity’ to ‘I’m going to save everyone’… and like you say, I can’t see how this can possibly end well!

Yeah I’m getting final arc vibes too! Honestly I’m kind of ready for the story to be wrapped up. Backstories have been established, current motives and allegiances have been confirmed, it feels like everyone is the right place now for the finale… whatever that might be 😅
i loved this chapter it was so beautiful i am so happy they finally talked it was needed i love that yuu is back again to his old self but i kinda doubt what yuu said about wanting to save everybody i mean i would todely believe him if it was only this chapter but ashera said before that yuu only cared for mika and didn't want to save everone soo i hope he does tbh becaus does yuu mean with everbody the vampires to? becaus he told ashera that he would save krul, ashera didn't believe him tho i'm kinda sad that we didn't learn anything about ashera status stil think hes alive tho otherwise mika would heve brought it up i think

I can’t wait for Smart!Mika to make his comeback. I also agree with you- I’m not sure about this switch from ‘I don’t care about humanity’ to ‘we’re going to save everyone’… UNLESS Yu has changed his goal because it’s the only way that Mika would get on board and stop hating himself. Maybe Yu himself doesn’t really care, but he knows that Mika couldn’t bear to be the reason for everyone else suffering again. I also didn’t mention it in the react but I’m happy we got a brief flashback panel of Ashera 👑 if the plan is now to save everyone, let’s hope he really does come back!

‘Your happiness is my happiness’ was very cute- but I do think that line is a bit of a double edged sword… to me it’s another example that shows Mika’s sole existence is only for Yu. I understand his mentality completely given the situation he’s in, but I really found that line bittersweet.
Regarding the two options, it was more the extreme nature of the choice that I didn’t like- Yu is literally going for all or nothing. Dangerous game 😅I talk a bit more in my reflection video on it, but I’m also not sure where reviving everyone successfully would leave Yu’s character 🤔

@@ARTEMIAZ I see the happiness part differently bc we clearly saw in chapter 93 that living together with Yuu, raising the orphans with him and having his family all together and healthy by his side is what makes Mika really happy. Yuu's happiness being Mika's happiness is one of two reasons what would make Mika happy.

Well, there was no action, BUT, and even though, I'm a big fan of action, whe maybe, MABYE, have now a clear idea of what Mika and Yu are going to do/want to do. So, that's nice^^
Yes I think this was ‘filler’ that was actually needed- we couldn’t have gone straight from Yu forcing Mika to eat Ashera, to Mika happily agreeing to go along with everything in the name of the plot. Maybe now they can actually start unravelling this mess!
Ugh the epic bromance is real. Though seriously considering the themes of the series being mostly about family I don't think homosexuality is being considered here. Wanting to live a life with the homies is super relatable if you ask me. Though Yu was indeed making points, its reminding me of the pride vs logic issue, some people are fine with thinking things through and sacrificing for the greater good and then there's those who have more selfish thinking which isn't wrong in and of itself. Yu's just so desperate for his family to be back that he can't make that ultimate sacrifice. Mika's just as much a part of his family as the others.

Kindness is certainly a character trait of Yu’s so I can understand his ‘save them all’ mentality from that perspective, but his sudden swing from ‘I don’t care about humanity’ to ‘we’re going to save everyone’ did throw me a bit. I guess he has a tug of war going on inside him between kindness and selfishness.
I personally think ‘family’ is an ambiguous term that can encompass a wide spectrum of relationships and that discussion on what ‘really’ constitutes ‘family’ is one part of what makes Seraph so interesting. For example, Shinoa as squad leader once declared the Shinoa squad to be family but her intentions towards Yu are explicitly romantic. On a personal note, I’m getting married next year- at that point, in the eyes of the law, my husband becomes my next of kin- my closest ‘family’ member. Looking at it more broadly, in real life, we can have blood relatives that we might consider ‘family in name only’ because they might have done terrible things, or family members who aren’t blood related but volunteered to step into our lives and are very important to us. My point being that ‘family’ doesn’t have a solid definition- Mika and Yu are undoubtedly family to each other but in my opinion that term isn’t very useful in explaining their relationship. 🤔
@@ARTEMIAZ understandable. Though it does make me wonder if Yu or even Mika know what love is? Romantic love even. I mean like Yu said they are kids just doing what they've been told without learning on their own. What we see as love could to them be something they just do without any romantic intent. Yu has always worn his heart on his sleeve after all and Mika has been suicidal this whole time.
