The language on the screen that The First was reading seemed to be semitic in origin, very similar to ancient Sanskrit or perhaps a form of Sumerian. Maybe Enochian? Perhaps the Language of the Angels is the original language of Humans that eventually split off into the many languages we have now. Like for instance there is rumor among theologians that there was once a superficial language that was speculated to be the original tongue that Adam and Eve spoke in the Garden, but after the Fall of the Tower of Babel and Humanities division that language was lost. It was called Armaic or Adamic. Also, I believe that Shikama is the supervisor and Director of the whole project that the Angels are overtaking to return to Heaven by building an Elevator. He’s not so much the “leader” as he is the chief architect and planner. The whole idea of using an Elevator to get back to Heaven is pretty wacky to begin with in all honesty, its kinda just doesn’t make sense to me how a physical elevator can return the Angels all to Heaven unless “Heaven” is a physical place they’re trying to return to somewhere in the Universe. Which makes me believe that unless the Angels are trying to return to their home-planet or something like that, the Elevator isn’t a physical elevator in the normal sense that it takes you up or carries you somewhat, but instead is actually a Inter-dimensional device that allows you to tunnel through space-time and reach a specified destination somewhere outside the boundaries of existence. A place that is acasual and unbound by the normal laws of creation, somewhere like the Afterlife that souls go to after death. Somewhere like Heaven… If this is true. It makes Shikama’s plan all the more dangerous as the necessary power required to return to Heaven could distort and even fracture the fragile stability of Time-Space which could be what lands him in [Divine-Punishment] territory. As a result of his attempt to fissure through dimensions God might make Shikama pay the ultimate price by smiting his Son and cursing him with some form of Powerlessness or Taking away Shikama’s grace as an angel. Though that seems to have already happened even before the Elevator’s construction. Whatever the case, I can’t wait to see how “Yu” progresses from a homuncules into an cognitive being. I’m sure the process MUST be more complicated than simply; “Oh! You gave me a name!! Now I have a heart and I can feel things!! Thank you Mikaela!!! I’ll be your best friend forever” NOT!!! 💔😑 There’s gotta be some sorta of complex process that transformed Yu into the cognitive-entity that we know and love now. It’s gotta have something to do with souls, probably an transplant of some-kind. If I had to take a guess, I’d say that Mikaela had a piece of his own soul transplanted into Yu. To give him the ability to feel emotions and develop a sense-of-self. The reason I say this is because during one of the panels Mika points out that Angel Mika acts a lot more like Yuu than he does like himself, and also seems to possess Yu’s sentimentality towards Family. I can’t see Kagami throwing in this suspicious dialogue in there for no reason. Especially when we’re this late in the game. So I’ve got to guess that it has to have some significance. Anyways, that was my throw at a theory on what this chapter was building towards. Hope to see how all this unfolds in the future with you and everyone!! Take Care! 💚
Your comments on the language are fascinating, thank you! I agree absolutely that Shikama is the architect of The Plan. I just find it odd that he seems completely disconnected from the other angels in the city. 🤔 Love your observations regarding Shikama’s possible interference with space and time- the manga has been bringing more and more of these elements into play lately, with Mahiru watching Mika in his memories and the boys jumping back through time via their memories. I also noticed in this chapter there is a prominent panel where eye!Yu notices current Mika and Yu standing there within the memory! I’m not sure what it all means yet, but it certainly seems like Shikama has been messing with some dangerous power. Regarding Yu’s transformation from homunculus to human, I wonder if it has something to do with his repeated deaths. Like he learns a little more each time, and that knowledge is carried on to his new body- in the manga, one of his old versions asks Shikama ‘what’s a secret?’ Then later, a new version (ch 113 I think) tells Shikama ‘I HAVE a secret’- as if he’s been through a learning process.
It's interesting how they keep referring back to curses. Like Ashera cursing Krul with eternal life so they could stay together, and Shikamas warning that it is a curse, to live forever and vampires lose their emotions. While the curse of naming someone gives them a heart, they are both opposite ends of a spectrum. Mikaela also is referred to as the cursed child, which I think curse seems to be being used as a reference to love, specifically human love and how flawed it can be (I remember you talking before about Mika representing an idealistic form of love) Also if Angel Mika is being killed by the sun, that's similar to how in most stories vampires are harmed by the sun. Also the sun makes me think both God and The Sun God Aten. There is really a lot going on in this chapter that I'm trying to piece into a clear picture, but I just have too many questions: Can all angels have children like Shikama made Mikaela? Is Shikama a special rank of angel, like how there are archangels in the bible? Was Mikaela not meant to exist? Is that why the elements are killing him? How on earth is there ice-cream? Did the angels milk dinosaurs for the milk?
That’s a really interesting callback with the ‘cursed child’ reference- good catch! I’m guessing Mika is cursed because Shikama created and named him. The ice cream thing omg, milking the dinosaurs 😂 I’m trying not to think too hard about that- I’m chalking it up to ‘weird manga things’!
Homunculi are basically made to be nameless servants. We see multiple of them roaming around the city and basically acting as subordinates to the angels. We also know the Tower of Babel's ultimate goal is apparently to get the angels back to the heavens, and that Shikama is investigating the different taboos there are. Finally, there's that line Shikama once said to Kureto, how God is far crueler than him. Out there theory: Shikama and the angels in the city were cast out of heaven for developing the Homunculi, a servant tribe. Michaela started to get sick due to the change in the air and his weak constitution. Shikama's first thought was to build the tower to get them back to heaven and prevent Michaela's death. As time passed and he started to get worse, Shikama turned towards the other Angel Taboos, specifically how to revive the dead. Homunculi were a good first step, but he would have to think bigger if he wanted Michaela to live again. Hence, vampires and demons, the catastrophe, and the Michaela gene. Shikama has had millions of years to perfect everything, down to creating the exact circumstances to manipulate people and family lines into having the right personalities that will act according to his plan. All for Michaela (and maybe also to eventually storm heaven and take on God but I'm not sure if he really wants that)
I like your theories! Thank you for the homunculi comment- I agree the servant tribe reference is likely relating to the eyes- but maybe ‘servant tribes’ would also include the demons and vampires? Personally, the ‘weak constitution’ thing came off as a lie to me, especially as Shikama is hiding the screens from Mika- like he doesn’t want Mika to know what exactly is killing him? 🤔
The page that mentions “servant tribe” honestly blew my mind, bc I immediately thought about the possibility of it talking about Yuu and other homunculi (which apparently exist since Shika mentioned other homunculi Mika named??). That would explain why the sixth trumpet tried to kill Yuu immediately after he understood what Yuu’s real species were, since “creation of servant tribes” seems to be equal to resurrecting the dead by Holy Law’s standards. It makes me more and more curious about what part Yuu really plays in this plan. He’s connected to the dark suns which are mentioned here, possibly is one of the “servants”, is a sacrifice needed in the resurrection, is needed for Guren’s plan too for some reason, can talk to Mikaela and Mika telepathically….It feels like the more we know about him the less we know about him 😭 Anyway, thank you for your video! I also find it interesting that Shikama mentions NAMES as something that curses someone, bc the name Mikaela was always called “the cursed name” in the light novel. It really is in a way, isn’t it? Half of the characters (and our Mika especially) were fucked over so many times bc of the name “Mikaela”. But it also something that can show love and Yuu is implied to be more human BECAUSE of the name, because he’s loved. Such duality, I like the theme Kagami chose with this

@@ARTEMIAZ I think those angels didn’t do anything bc Mika and Yuu appear to be normal at first glance. The Sixth Trumpet needed some time to recognize Yuu’s true nature, he had to look at Yuu more closely. I think the angels were preoccupied with Shikama (who is more obviously a sinner) and by the time Shika left Mika and Yuu stopped merging (and showing their true colours) and then left not that long after 🤔
Theres actually a language called the language of Angel's which looks very similar to the one shown in the manga, it's mainly made out of detailed symbols that do look very similar to arthurian writing in my opinion also.

I have this theory (that I just thought of now lol), around the city there are these headless angels, so what if Mika was originally one of those angels but Shikama gave him a name which led to him getting a heart (and a head XD), maybe that’s why Mika got the weird illness? Also, maybe the mysterious look Shika gave Mika after he asked if he loved him was a _yeah I love you and I suffer because of it_ look? Idk I also heard someone on Twitter mention that the ‘servant tribes’ might be the eyeballs (Shika does treat eyeball Yuu as Mika’s bodyguard or something so it makes sense imo) Anywaysss just under 2 weeks until we’ll (probably) see Mika die on his birthday again- 😰
Yeah there must be a reason for the difference between the headless angels and Shikama/Mika. The ‘servant tribe’ thing I think could have up to four meanings- the eyeballs (someone else advised homunculi are literal servant so this seems the most likely), the angels in the city, the vampires and the demons. 🤔 Edit: oh shit I forgot Mika’s birthday is next month, now I’m scared!
Ah so you don’t trust him either? I’m still on the fence. So far, all the love we’ve seen between parental figures and their kids in this series has been seriously messed up. I’m hoping Shikama will be the one exception but… 😅
