A survivor of lethal injection said that it was super painful. You are conscious and aware while the pain happens.. you just can't move to express your pain. 100% pain but you are paralyzed

Anyone who survives lethal injection is then forced to endure it again until it ends their life. Those who are put on death row are there to die, not to live if the injection fails.

Heartless as it might seem, the Soviets probably had the most humane method. They led the condemned prisoner to a room, similar to that which he had visited previously for questioning, and after entering the guard following him fired a single bullet into the back of the prisoner's head. The condemned had no reason to expect this and literally never saw it coming. Death was always instantaneous.

If the Russians had a more "humane method", I suppose the N@zis (can't say the word without being flagged, understandable tbf) had a "quicker method" by gas chambers, were people would die from inhalation of toxic gas in a matter of seconds compared to the lethal injection. I'm not trying to be sarcastic or funny but I agree that a single bullet in the back of the head would be the better choice instead of a firing squad. I mean China has done firing squads for years and it's always a done deal, no messing around 🤷‍♂

More humane: nitrogen gas chamber. The human body generates pain signals for when there is too much CO2, but no pain for when there's no oxygen. Breathing in an almost pure nitrogen atmosphere will knock a person out in less than a minute and death in about 5 minutes guarranteed. No weird body chemistry or weak viens will defeat this method. Completely tidy, it is indistinguishable from falling asleep. Nitrogen is stupidly easy to get a hold of, it's about 79% of our atmosphere, and not toxic.
The better thing to do it not use capital punishment. If the wrong person gets put to death there's no undoing it and apologizing. The death penalty makes the entire society a collective murderer. If punishment is the goal then death actually releases the perpetrator. Prison forces the perpetrator to live with their deeds and appreciate the wrong they've done.

As a matter of fact, no capital punishment has ever been carried out on any of the prisoners on death row. Instead, they just stick them in jail for the rest of their lives.

I suppose it depends. Humane is a strong word, more humane than (_____) is really what they are going for here. For example: a sudden severance of nerve endings that separate cognitive function faster than the speed of light will painlessly cause the human brain to stop functioning by ceasing respiratory behavior before the nerves can actually send or receive pain sensory messages. This is more humane than putting them in a guillotine and cutting their heads off at about the speed of a knife in butter where they would feel most of the pain for several seconds and then ghost pains after the body itself was severed. It's weird to think about how some forms of death sound more positive based on the cleanliness of or biological descriptions of explanations. This doesn't justify anything, it simply states than one thing is viewed more positively in the public eye than another.

Years ago I was a Corrections Officer in Delaware. During your rookie year they move you all over the place to basically fill in for more senior officers who have a dedicated position and have the day off. I was in the 4-11 shift and one night when I was about to leave the Shift Commander told me I was doing mandatory overtime and to go get a patrol car and weapons from the armory and report of outside patrol. This was in early 2003 and according to Delaware law, inmates sentenced before a certain date , 1975 I think, we're allowed to choose their method of execution. This ment we still had our gallows erected out side the perimeter in the middle of 3 barns that formed a U shape. Anyways, at about 3am I got really bored and decided to do some snooping and check out said gallows. I parked my car and snuck in through some boards that had come loose. Once inside I got out my flashlight and made my way through the barn to the door that lead to the fenced off courtyard where the gallows was. Talk about creepy! I walked up to the platform and stood right on the trap door. I swear I could just feel the violence and death somehow still latched onto the wood and metal . I didn't stick around long ill.tell you that lol. I ended up permanently working on death row after that first year. Many of the guys we had would flat out tell you what they did ,how they did it, and that they were at peace with dying since they deserved it. Our lethal injection machine was in a small building just inside the perimeter and going through it while on patrol gave many people the same feeling of death and violence still somehow lingering in the actual construction of the building. I'm an atheist and don't believe in ghosts, but damn if those 2 places didn't feel haunted as hell.!

Yes! That's exactly what I meant. I think I remember hearing/reading the same thing. And like I said, it was the creepiest feeling thing I've every experienced, It really felt like some sort of "old" negative energy had attached itself to the physical objects. I felt the same feeling a few years later when I was working as a Private Investigator for a company that also did contract security for the large auction company Ritchie Brothers who has an auction yard where I live in ,Maryland. My boss needed some help staffing the site for an upcoming auction so I volunteered to pick up some o.t to help out and make a few extra dollars for Xmas. It was around 11pm and I was going through the large, 100 acre property when I came across an Ambulance that the Baltimore city F.D was auctioning.I just had to check it out and when I opened the back doors, it was the eeriest ,darkest feeling I've every felt. I think my neck hairs even stood up.When I stepped in the back, I kept thinking about how many people died from gunshot wounds in it and blood being everywhere. Morbid I know, but it was like I was feeling it, not thinking it. That might when I went home I even had a dream about it. It creeped me out pretty bad and like I said, I don't buy into the whole ghost and angels thing since I'm an Athiest , but damn if both of those instances didn't almost make a believer out of me lol. You really could " feel" the violence and death somehow trapped in the physical structures of the
ambulance and gallows, almost like it was part of It as much as the boards, nails, motor and tires were. Gives me chills just thinking about it, and it happened in the mid 00's.

Because potassium is responsible for the contraction of all the muscles in the body, if you injected the potassium chloride immediately after the sedative, the body would shake and spasm uncontrollably, so the muscle paralysis is needed to keep the body still in the short time it takes for the potassium chloride to stop the heart

A life in prison is probably the worst thing I can imagine and costs the state millions of dollars. So a death penalty is a necessity. But think about it, for what they did, is that "inhumane" or "painful" way is the best way other then a bullet to the head. We're not trying to punish them but remove their poisoned minds from society .

So... if a lethal injection execution fails, the prisoner just goes back to the cell and wait for another attempt with injections? Wouldn't be easier to just shoot the prisoner, I mean they kinda gone through the pain of having the injections failing, so why not put an end to it?
On another note, I doubt lethal injection is the most ..."humane"... way to kill a person. It takes at least 7 to 8 minutes to get the deed done. I think shooting the person straight in the head would be faster and, from a certain perspective, less painful.

    • @enmanuelmena1250

That might be because theres some cases of people that aren't immediatly killed with a single shot to the head. Even so, the point still remains, would you compare 2 shots to the heart, to screwing up the lethal injection and having the prisoner suffer there for who knows how long?
I will admit that being shot in the heart will be painful and will cause some amount of suffering, yet it will still be faster than having a prisoner sent back to his/her jail just because someone could not give the injection properly.
On a last note: no matter how I look at this, shooting the prisoner is also cheaper than preparing 3 seperate injections for a single attempt at the execution.

Well yeah, a shot straight to the head will immediately kill someone but with the lethal injection, you're put to sleep first with an anesthetic, you will not feel pain, the second one stops the signals sent to the brain and the third injection does the rest. The job's done, no pain is felt
I do agree with the point of your comments as well, i would rather get shot, end it immediately instead of going through a complicated process

You most certainly won't feel pain from being shot in the head. Pain receptors can travel at about 30 meters per second (roughly 60 miles per hour). I understand you might not know much about guns, but that's nothing compared to the speed of a bullet. Google tells me that an AR-15 shoots at about 1005 meters per second. So the bullet would be long through your brain (killing you) before your pain receptors could even get there. And even if by some miracle they live, I'm sure that having 2 executioners would reduce that chance of living to essentially 0. So IMO it'd be more humane to just use the firing squad, as there's a 0% chance of pain.

Nice video! The one thing to clarify is that we currently do not have death penalty in Guatemala, even though a lot of people demands it. The last fire-squad was in 1996 which was uploaded to CZcams a few years ago.

In Sweden, we have no death sentence. And there is no sitting in prison until you die. In Sweden a “Lifetime” sentence is often just 60 years. And if they make a crime after that, it’s another - insert number - years in prison, I think that’s the most humane way to end a persons life, lettin’ em live til they naturally die. Whether it’s in prison or in a hospital bed.

I really think the guillotine is the most humane execution method. It's simpler, albeit messier and more gruesome, than all other methods of execution, so there's fewer steps to botch/screw up. Death is also much quicker and virtually guaranteed to happen once decapitation is done, and even if the person is still conscious during the process the pain is less severe and shorter in duration than being conscious during cardiac and respiratory arrest. Also, you don't need to be in the business of obtaining lethal drugs, which is expensive and sometimes hard to do even without supply shortages.

Eko Nugroho In my opinion I wouldn’t care if it was in humane if:
      a)he/she raped
b)killed innocents (torture or no torture)
c)did something else that was barbaric or inhumane
      d)killed or tortured a child
These bastards deserve it. They should have thought more than committing the crime. You might think I’m not considerate or thinking only of revenge but set an example that someone kidnapped, raped, tortured and killed your child. How would you feel? These people don’t deserve a chance in life. They don’t deserve to enjoy life.
