Dude literally eats his eye
Judge : nah he is totally normal....
Just hand him some razor blades already
Please remember he is mentally ill. Saying stuff like âdefinitely not the type youâd want to encounterâ and âhand him some razor blades alreadyâ is really damaging because it creates a bad image around mental health as a whole. I understand this man killed his family and itâs okay to be angry at the situation. But be angry at the mental health system that failed him not the individual. If he had been in treatment earlier, or at the very least hospitalized before he took action, three lives could have been saved. Just please be careful with the way you talk about mental health because saying stuff like that makes it harder for people who struggle with mental illnesses to seek help
@@Kimberly34584 Bro what?!?!? I didnât say anything about the dude, I literally was just talking about the judge. Like the quote that says Judge : nah he is totally normal. Maybe implying that the dude isnât okay? I get the comment, but you just didnât get it.

That is actually the reason for my personal aversion against the death sentence - far too many people have been executed who were later proven to be innocent ! Even one is too many. To warrant a death sentence, proof of guilt must be 100%, with no doubt at all and never on the basis of mere circumstantial evidence.

Every death sentence in the US triggers an automatic, extremely lengthy appeal process which is paid for by the state. In case anyone was wondering why itâs so much more costly than a life sentence.
They need to set a time limit on how long they can be on death row, living on taxpayers dime too.
If they all got life sentence instead then they would all grown old in prison & eventually be put in the geriatrics unit where they will wither away. It cost hella bank just to keep 1 old murderer alive.
@@undertoe3619 no, there is a 4% innocent rate anyway errors are bad
Even if you say you don't want an appeal, anti-death row groups will file appeals on your behalf. It is difficult to get someone executed within a few years, even if the person is actively trying to speed up the process.

How is it possible that so many people in the US spend several decades behind bars and even are executed for crimes they never did? Isnât it up to the police to investigate what really happened, and to prove that a person is guilty?
Negative ghost rider. The police are the ones that collect evidence. Prosecutor has the job of proving guilt.
The convict who ate his remaining eye, thus resulting in him going blind, should have convinced the authorities that he was seeing things that tormented him.

Iâm pretty sure the term âDeath Rowâ is enough for a majority of people to not want to go there
Seeing how this country is going, I dought your correct.
studies show that there are more murders in states that legalized the death penalty
The craziest part is when those innocent death row inmates get aquitted nobody from the prosecution or police ever get repremanded for the wrongful conviction. So sad the system is problem and this arn't changing anytime soon.
When I worked for a prison ministry in Texas, I became close friends with a few of the women on death row. One got married to one of our directors before she was executed and another received clemency and still resides in prison, glad that she is alive when her death sentence was commuted to a life sentence.

Because they're mentally unstable
They ought to give the victim's family the option of administering the punishment...I'd be HAPPY to do it.
Here's a real fact for you. When prisoners are on Death Row, especially in California, prisoners are more likely never to see the inside of the execution chamber. They'll rot in prison, before they're executed

@@undertoe3619ou must have missed the part about all the innocent people put to death. It said there were over 160 since 1973 exonerated after spending years on death row. Would you still be for the death penalty if you were wrongfully convicted? Judging by your comment you think innocent people should have to die too. There's no doubt executions aren't a deterrent but they are 100% effective at stopping repeat offenders.
About 1 in about every 24 people sentenced to death is innocent.
*Number corrected*
um what
Highly doubt that. Also, how would they know they're innocent? If we knew, they wouldn't be on death row? This is an obvious meme lol
@@TheTsar69 Look up facts about Rodney Reed. He's innocent on death row even thou The innocence project has proved he's innocent. They're still trying to get him freed.
@Charles Szasz the number is a bit lower. According to The Guardian, 4% of those executed in the United States are innocent. Still a frightening number imo. Even 1 person out of 100 would be too much. Personally I'm against death penalty, but if some really want it, there should exist even the slightest possibility for the executed to be innocent
@@TheTsar69 a lot of times New evidence comes out when it's too late. The fact that we can't be 100% sure every time that the executed is guilty should be enough to abolish the death penalty

Thank you, at first I didnât scroll far enough to see this, so I made my own comment. If you commit a felony and someone dies you should be charged with their death. Itâs reasonable to assume someone can die if youâre breaking into someoneâs home. Enough of the criminal apologists.
