@@monotech20.14 nobody knew what it was going to be before the first book came out. Eric never mentioned anything about the plot (cause there ended up being none) and instead focused on the "high quality materials" and sheer amount of overall content you'd be getting from 96 ad free pages. he lied and when people found out, they didn't come back to buy the 2nd book. sure, he has about 15-20k rubes who keep buying his crap, but half of the people who bought his first book never bought any more stuff from him cause they aren't stupid and don't wanna be lied or pandered to.
Eric July’s writing sounds like a book report written by a first grader that waited until the last day to write it.
Goes to show, the general audience will buy that rather than pretentious crap!!! 😗

Charging $75 plus shipping is extra pretentious. You obviously don’t know what the meaning of the word pretentious is. That said, Eric’s contributed the writing to the book and that is written at a third grade level. That fact is undeniable, the grammar , vocabulary and clarity of ideas is that of a third grade C student.
A 1st grader could do better.

Whoever allowed him to make that book out of the first draft is not his friend or a good employee. I guess he said he is going to make a comicbook script without all the time and work it takes to make a good story. It shows.

For most freelance artists, we take money from who pays us. Sure, we prefer really innovative, high quality work. But we aren’t even in a position to judge what the final product will be like. I’ve illustrated promo & don concept design for stuff that ends up totally different than I thought

The more I learn about Eric, the more I'm convinced he wants to be a Mary Sue. $100 for 7 pages. You can buy multiple REAL artbooks for that price. And those books won't be filled designs that look like they were rejected from Rob Liefeld's X-Force sketchbooks from 89.

To answer the question if Black folks normally over charge for things like this in our community: the answer is no lmao we’re normally inclined to under charge lmao. This 8 page shitty art book would go for somewhere between $3-$7 around the way. Especially if you’re selling it to family members or people you’ve grown up with 😂 you’d be looked at like a damn fool asking for $100 for this trash.
