The 2017 NBA Draft is live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. With the Number 1 pick, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Washington's Markelle Fultz, followed by UCLA's Lonzo Ball at 2nd by the Los Angeles Lakers and Duke's Jayson Tatum at 3rd by the Boston Celtics. Watch live on ESPN!

Celtics picking Tatum will be remembered as the night the Celtics started another dynasty.
Eddie Hernandez it's not that obvious. This C's team was written out of the playoffs by all these "experts" since the Bucks series. Tatum and Brown have had to prove every single night that they are as good as advertised.
When was the last time the celtics formed a dynasty? There last "Big 3" were arguably the most overrated trio of superstars. Ever.
Ultra Sur overrated? They won a ring and got hit with injuries. They’re arguable on their way to a 3 peat without injuries to KG and the 2010 Perkins(where they lost by 4 in game 7). The only superstar was KG and he’s the one who got hit with injuried

Ainge knew LA was going to take Ball, and he knew Philly was going to take Fultz, so he traded down from 1 to 3 and still got the best player in the draft and possibly started another dynasty in Boston. Never doubt Danny Ainge.

Tatum can be the next Paul Pierce. Not in skill set because every star is different, but in terms of what he will mean to Boston fans and what Boston will mean to him.
As a lifelong Celtics fan, what gives Paul Pierce a special place in my heart is the relationship that he has with the Celtics fanbase. We loved him for what he gave to us and he has always loved us in return. I think Tatum can be the same guy, a guy who came from LA but will bleed Celtics green forever. I look forward to one day being in Boston with my son when they retire Tatum's jersey and talking about this amazing season and how I watched him come out as a player.

Common Sense celtics dont need a scorer. they need a dominant player who can get rebounds and most importantly PLAY DEFENSE. which tatum is ok at. but yea if jackson didnt practice for the celtics the they shouldnt draft him. but this isnt good for the celtics compared to what the celtics could have done. all they did was draft a prett good scored with moderate defense and that ainy gonna do shit against the cavs

Celtic fan since 1979, saw us loose Len Bias, miss the playoffs fora decade, loose out on Dirk and Tim, this kid ALMOST makes up for it. If inuries stay away and he stays under Brad this kid can be a top 3 to 5 player in the game within the next 2 to 4 years. He is 3x more athletic then I thought he was, and he has not even understood how to rebound and shot block yet. An his offense reminds me already of the BEST of Carmelo and our own beloved Paul Pierce. An JB can be a top 15 to 25 player in his own right. The next 10 to 15 years is going to be fun as a Celitcs fan.
