I like to think the OddWorld Inhabitants team created this game specifically to prove that they can write a badass protagonist just as well as they can a goofy one.
The craziest thing about this game for me was how it changes so drastically in the second half. You go from hunting down these outlaws in a very linear gameplay loop to being this savior for a forgotten people with a noble cause. The gameplay loop changes to reflect that you aren't just fighting outlaws...now you are fighting a full-fledged war.
I know, right? What I also found interesting, it’s that after Stranger get’s revealed, he becomes more agile, because his legs are no longer bound inside boots.
I just love how Lorne Lanning voices all of his main characters - Abe, Munch, and Stranger. He also voices Alf, among other side characters. He's really good! I bet he'll voice Squeek...if or when Squeek's Oddysee ever gets made.🙏
dont mean to be negative but i think theres a very slim chance that game will be made bc now all the games will be about abe... which sucks... maybe they can do more spin off's after the last game but i think squeek and the 2 other oddysee's that werent made wont ever happen.... but time can only tell

Definitely, *Stranger is one of the most complex, mysterious and coolest characters in Oddworld.* Stranger's Wrath is my favorite game in the saga and I hope they release a sequel one day to clarify many of the questions that remain unanswered.
my guess was he was going to give his horn that he proably hid somwhere as proof that he got the steed but make the excuse the body got destroyed, he already did some bounties at the point so he cleary isn’t going for the full price of the steed head, just enough to finish small needed

I think this was the first game that really gave such awe when it ended. Like I understood there was more to games than just shooting or collecting things.
Hilariously, he might even be one of the constellations. Sagittarius. Not just because he was a centaur, but because he's still technically a centaur, his main weapon of choice is a cross-BOW, and the Steffs were supposed to protect water, Virgo's water.
I've never really played any Oddworld games, but from the clips I've been watching, it seems like their writing and world building is excellent. Unfortunately, the voice acting and dialogue seems a little stilted. Maybe that's part of the charm. But for example Stranger sounds like he's on something and also maybe recovering from a lobotomy.
Well, Stanger is (SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T STUMBLED UPON A VERY SPECIFIC LINE OF DIALOUGE) A Steef, and it's outright said Steefs are incapable of speaking. His dialouge is inetionally stilted as foreshadowing. He likely taught himself to speak English (Oddlish?) to blend in.

grew up with oddworld. was 6 when oddysse came out. 24 now and watched this whole video. installed munches oddysse on pc following strangers rath hd soon to relive these epic tales. new game coming mid 2017 for those interested. will definatly be playing it. there is a bit of oddysee in us all :)
exodus from original classic point of view. and i completely agree that munches oddysee is the best 3d play through. like each mission is a slightly harder test of your skills well giving a great insite on all the cast at the same time. also the cut scenes are epic
Yeah I played this game back in 2005 but the glitches where awesome especially at the end where you fight the last boss and you were able to get on stage and kill the two 🐙

Okay, so I fought this guy the other night, and yeah, he's pretty damn hard. You basically need to know how to aim right and always point at the general direction of where he's going to be when he makes a move for the front of the switch so you can blast him as soon as he gets in front of the crosshair. But not too late so you can quickly jump to another platform after quickly exiting first person (it's possible to just double jump to the next platform in first person by leaping to the side while still aiming at the next switch, but that's also really hard to pull off consecutively). Anyway, you need to hit Freely with a Zapfly first, and THEN a Thudslug to quickly take down his stamina bar. You basically gotta do it all while staying up on the platforms because if you fall off, you're gonna have to deal with him chasing you and wasting time getting lined up with another platform from the steam-vents. The more time you fritter, the more stamina he'll regain and the more ammo you'll waste.
Not really, though in one of the early storyboards for Stranger’s Wrath when D. Caste Raider picks up the papers on the Steef legs procedure. Amongst the papers that fall off Stranger was a Wanted poster for Abe and Munch.

In the first half of the game i thought the game would loop more and more because it was kinda repetitive with doing bounties and switching to new towns but then you suddenly end up on a freaking battlefield. But even though the gfirst half was repetitive, would they have added some type of character progress system even that would be ebough without the whole war part

I must have beat this game over 50 times growing up. This game was my childhood. They don’t make em like this anymore. Amazing game.

Other than both being on the continent of Mudos and Doc being a Vykker, not really.
There are also Fuzzles, which are in older games. Gloktigi, which are related to the Glukkons.
